Chapter 7 - First Action

With the gun problem solved, Anna marched out with her troops. But there was a little catch. Her troops were flashy in their uniforms and beautiful faces.

But that beautiful face would also make them more prone to bandit attack. So, Anna could indeed lay a trap. Ambush, for the bandits that are terrorizing the people of her father's territory.

She brought her squad to the position where the number of robbery has been the highest. It was a crossroad secluded by dense forests. There was no sign of people around just Anna and her 10 soldiers.

This had once been a very active place as many merchants passed through this crossroad to access other territories of the kingdom including the capital city.

This time when Anna and her forces reached the position, they were the ones to be ambushed. Seeing 10 beautiful women in weird clothing, they decided that they needed to capture them alive and well.

Anna looked in horror as almost 20 bandits surrounded them, appearing suddenly from their forest covers. They looked ugly but ragged. Their weapons, swords, and some bows.

The dolls stopped and as per their programming, spread out into a circle. Their expressions didn't change, they didn't speak. Just silent efficiency. Their guns now aimed towards the bandits that surround them.

"You know, these jungles are not places for a young lady's fashion show." A hoarse voice said. "It is easy to get attacked by bandits." His tone mocking.

Anna looked at the source. The man who said this was middle aged muscular man with scars on his face. He seemed to be the leader of the group.

He started to advance towards Anna seemingly with bad impression. Looking at his subordinates, Anna was disgusted. There was only lust in there.

Though she could not blame them because she made those puppets for that type of reason exactly.

The leader laughed, "You," he said coming close to Anna, "It seems you will fetch a very handsome ransom as for your maids here...." he didn't say just smiled. His silence said more.

At that moment, Anna took a deep breath. Her hands immediately going towards her hips. Just as the bandit leader was about touch her face, she brought out the pistol and fired.

The man fell down and screamed in agony. The bandits were stunned. They couldn't understand what happened. Anna herself was shocked. This is the first time she fired at a living human being.

The only ones nonchalant were her dolls who acted as if nothing happened and without giving the bandits any chance to understand what went down, they opened fire.

The Mp40 and Kar98s roared to life. The volleys of bullet struck square on the bandits immediately taking them down. Unlike Anna who was still contemplating her actions, these puppets with no feelings continued the volley fire.

The smug bandits who believed they have got an easy prey and tonight will be a fun night now either lay dead or screaming in pain from the bullet wounds.

Anna fell to her knees in front of the crying man who was too busy agonizing, to notice what had happened. Anna, a person who hasn't ever even got into a fist fight, directly harmed a man.

In that moment her world was only silence. What she hadn't noticed is that her doll soldiers didn't just leave the injured ones. They finished them off with no mercy.

She only realized it when one of the puppets showed up in front of her to finish off the leader who was still alive. She was horrified and so pushed the soldier away her shot missing the man and striking the ground harmlessly.

She now realized that her soldiers had automatically executed emergency functions and finished off the threats. She looked at the eyes of the man lying in front of her.

He was now frozen in shock looking terrified. Anna felt a little sympathy for him but she shook her head. She rebuked herself for sympathizing with a bandit.

An enemy soldier would've been fine but this was a bandit. A bandit, someone who hurt innocent people. She repeatedly told herself. But still she needed this man alive. To hunt down the remainder of the group.

She leaned in front of him. Her boot pressing the wound as forcefully as her small body allowed. "Tell, me where your hideout is and how many more of you are there?" She asked

The man gritted his teeth from the pain. But decided that his life was too valuable than their secret hideout. He wanted to scream. Demons, witches whatever name came to his mind for these women. But he couldn't.

"B-by the riverbend, not far from here, there is a cave. That's where we hide." He spoke through the pain. Hoping that confession will at least lead to his life being spared.

"How many are you?" Anna asked pressing the wound even more. "Tell me now or I will leave you here to become food for foxes." She threatened.

"About 10 more." He replied quickly knowing that if left here at night, the foxes will eat him alive. "Please don't let me become their food." He begged.

Since she needed him to guide her through the forest to their camp, she decided to let him live for now. Later after the operation is successfully concluded, he can be handed over to her father's knights that is if he is still alive by then.

Anna signalled two of her dolls to pick him up. And after that, they started their march to finish off the remaining bandits and to bring peace back to her father's territory.
