Chapter 74 - Chapter 73 – The 13-Billion-Yen Company: Genesis

2 p.m., Chiyoda Ward – Kuroiwa Law Office

When Seiji walked into the office, Kuroiwa was already waiting at the entrance.

"Fujiwara-sensei! It's an honor to finally meet you! I'm Yoshitaka Kuroiwa—please, just call me Kuroiwa." He greeted warmly, his face full of polite admiration. "I've read all your works! Especially After School—the plot twists were absolutely brilliant!"

Seiji smiled faintly at the man's flattering words.

He didn't believe for a second that Kuroiwa had actually read his books.

Just saying what he needed to say.

But that was the power of capital—just one file, and people like this would bow and scrape without hesitation.

"You're too kind, Kuroiwa-san," Seiji said lightly, getting to the point. "The file?"

"Ah, right—this way, please!"

Kuroiwa ushered him into his office, personally brewing a cup of high-grade gyokuro tea before carefully presenting the manila envelope with both hands.

Seiji opened it.

The contents matched exactly what the system had shown him.

A cultural company named Genesis, including all its shares and thirty billion yen in cash, would officially be transferred to his ownership upon signing. The company's headquarters in Shibuya alone was valued at over three hundred billion yen.

After confirming every detail, Seiji picked up the pen and signed his name.

"Congratulations, Fujiwara-sensei." Kuroiwa's smile was wide and genuine. "Shall I accompany you to the company for the formal handover?"

"Mm." Seiji nodded calmly.

No unnecessary words were exchanged.

The two departed immediately.

Kuroiwa drove personally, steering smoothly while explaining what he'd learned about Genesis.

"Fujiwara-sensei, this company is quite unique."

"It's been managed by a team of professional executives for the past fifteen years—fully staffed and functional."

"If you wish, it can begin full operations at any time."

Seiji listened quietly, nodding. The system had clearly prepared everything for him.

Meanwhile, inside the Genesis Corporation, the atmosphere was tense.

"Did you hear? The firm just called—our new owner's coming today!"

"For real? This 'retirement home' company is finally changing hands?"

"No idea what kind of person they are... think they'll fire us all?"

Anxious chatter rippled through the office.

A new owner often meant mass layoffs and new hires.

"Quiet down! Enough gossip!"

The company's general manager, Kenji Tanaka, barked sharply.

The noise subsided—though the tension lingered.

Even Tanaka himself was sweating as he straightened his tie. He'd been notified by Kuroiwa's office, but all they'd said was that the new owner's surname was Fujiwara. Nothing else.

That kind of uncertainty could make even a veteran like him uneasy.

Just then, a black sedan pulled up outside the building.

Tanaka quickly led several employees to greet it.

The first to step out was the neatly dressed Kuroiwa, whom Tanaka recognized immediately.

Then, from the other door, stepped a young man—no older than eighteen.

Tanaka and the others froze, eyes widening slightly.

A teenager?

The boy wore a fitted casual outfit, his features sharp and handsome, his gaze deep and calm—radiating a composure far beyond his years.

Kuroiwa followed half a step behind, deferential like an attendant.

In that instant, Tanaka understood.

This youth was their new boss.

"Welcome, sir!"

Tanaka bowed deeply, voice firm and respectful. "I'm Kenji Tanaka, the acting general manager of Genesis. It's an honor to serve under you!"

"Pleased to meet you!" the other employees echoed, bowing in unison like a field of wheat swaying in the wind.

"Mm." Seiji merely nodded and stepped inside.

"Allow me to show you the way," Tanaka said quickly, hurrying ahead to hold the door open.

Under Tanaka's efficient guidance and Kuroiwa's supervision, the entire handover process went smoothly.

By the end of the afternoon, Seiji Fujiwara was officially the owner of Genesis. All personnel and financial records were in his hands.

In the meeting room, Seiji looked at the capable, respectful manager before him and nodded in satisfaction.

"Tanaka-san, you've done well. From today onward, you'll officially serve as Genesis's president."

He needed a reliable executor to handle daily operations—and Tanaka's competence and attitude made him a perfect fit.

Tanaka's eyes widened with joy. He bowed deeply. "Thank you for your trust, sir! I'll give my all to bring value to the company!"

"Good. Keep everyone else in their current positions too," Seiji said calmly.

After all, these people had been arranged by the system—he had no reason to disrupt things.

But his employees didn't know that.

Hearing that the new boss wasn't planning any layoffs but was instead keeping everyone on board, relief and gratitude spread through the office like wildfire.

That evening, to celebrate, Seiji and Kuroiwa held a dinner at a high-end restaurant.

Glasses clinked amid laughter and flattery.

Kuroiwa was relentless in his toasting and praise. He knew well—this young man wasn't just a literary giant, but quite possibly a future titan of industry. If he didn't curry favor now, when would he?

Seiji, for his part, didn't mind the attention. Kuroiwa was a skilled lawyer—and a useful ally for the future.

Later that night, slightly drunk, Seiji returned to the villa.

As soon as he walked in, he saw Utaha Kasumigaoka and Eriri sitting on the couch reading, clearly waiting for him.

"Where were you? You reek of alcohol." Eriri wrinkled her delicate nose.

"I'll get some honey water," Utaha said, closing her book and heading to the kitchen.

"I'll get a towel," Eriri added, heading for the bathroom.

The two moved in perfect sync, dividing tasks without a word.

Watching them bustle around for his sake, Seiji felt a quiet warmth in his chest.

Sinking into the couch, he mumbled lazily, "I'm gonna start a company… hire five or six hundred people…"

Both girls froze for a moment.

Utaha's hand trembled slightly as she carried the honey water over, and she exchanged a knowing glance with Eriri, who was holding a warm towel.

A wry smile passed between them.

Start a company?

He was only eighteen—a freshly minted high school graduate.

"Yes, yes, our great CEO Fujiwara," Eriri said dryly, pressing the warm towel gently to his forehead. "Now drink this, or you'll regret it tomorrow."

Seiji obediently downed the honey water and soon drifted off to sleep.

Utaha watched his peaceful face and whispered, "Must've gone out celebrating with his editors. Starts talking nonsense when he's drunk."

Eriri nodded, and together they helped carry him to his room.

Neither of them took his talk about starting a company seriously.

The next morning

Seiji woke up.

The hangover headache was gone—his system-enhanced body had taken care of that easily. In fact, he felt sharper than usual.

After a quick wash, he headed to the study.

The sunlight poured warmly through the windows.

He didn't turn on the lights, simply letting the golden morning glow fill the room.

He pulled several thick hardcovers from the shelf—

Company Finance and Accounting Analysis, Management Control Systems, Principles of Marketing…

All books that Eriri's father had left behind.

The Genesis company package from the system had already included the knowledge of finance, HR, law, marketing, and management. Now, he was reorganizing that information—making it his own.

He brewed a cup of coffee and began reading.

In his mind, fragments of knowledge—corporate structures, equity design, market positioning, brand strategy—rapidly came together.

A little later, Utaha and Eriri woke up, washed, and came to the living room.

But the man who usually lazed around waiting for breakfast was nowhere to be found.

"Where'd he go?" Eriri asked, her twin tails swaying as she looked around. "Still asleep?"

"Probably in the study."

Utaha glanced toward the slightly open door. A faint aroma of coffee wafted out.

She pushed it open quietly.

Both girls stopped in surprise.

Seiji sat at the desk, completely absorbed in reading. The morning light outlined his sharp profile in soft gold, lending a rare calmness to his usually confident face.

Before him lay piles of intimidating technical books, and his notebook was filled with dense diagrams and business models they couldn't begin to understand.

The sight was such a stark contrast to his usual lazy self that both girls were momentarily speechless.

"Seiji, what are you doing?" Eriri asked.

Seiji looked up, smiled, and stretched lazily—his familiar, laid-back self returning in an instant.

"Didn't I say last night? I'm starting a company. Gotta prepare first."

"You were serious?" Eriri said incredulously, flipping through a copy of Modern Business Management. Two pages later, she was dizzy from the technical jargon and quickly closed it again.

Utaha's wine-red eyes flickered in surprise. She picked up Fujiwara's notebook, brows arching at the neat, logical analysis covering every page.

"I thought you were just drunk and rambling," she said softly.

"I wasn't." Seiji chuckled.

The two girls exchanged thoughtful looks.

It seemed writing novels and manga was no longer enough for him—he was chasing something new.

"Well then," Eriri said with a teasing grin, "good luck, President Fujiwara. When you become the richest man in the world, don't forget your two humble assistants who keep your bed warm."

"Don't worry," Seiji said seriously, eyes glinting with mischief. "I'll promote both of you to vice presidents—of my nightlife division."

"Pervert!"

"Pfft—!"

The girls burst into laughter at his deadpan delivery, their last traces of doubt fading away.

"Alright, stop daydreaming, Mr. Billionaire. Breakfast's on the table—we're heading to school," Utaha said, pulling the still-blushing Eriri toward the door.

"Be careful on your way."

Silence returned to the study.

Seiji's smile gradually faded. Rubbing his temples, he leaned back over his notes, immersing himself once more in the flood of knowledge and strategy that would soon become his new reality.
