Chapter 35 - Chapter 35: Katen Kyōkotsu’s Bankai!

"Vollständig…"

"If I'm not mistaken," Urahara mused, eyes glinting behind his striped hat, "this should be the Quincy's equivalent to a Shinigami's Bankai—or an Arrancar's Resurrección."

In the Human World, inside the quiet Urahara Shop, Kisuke spoke in his usual calm, analytical tone.

He remembered the previous rankings—how that giant, Gerard Valkyrie, had transformed in a similar way. A form that maximized one's power beyond all limits.

It wasn't hard for Urahara to piece together the logic behind the Quincies' strange power system.

"If that's true," Yoruichi frowned, "then Kyōraku's in serious trouble. 'All-Piercing'—that kind of power, if it amplifies even once, becomes unstoppable."

"Indeed…" Tessai adjusted his glasses, his deep voice heavy with awe.

"Just now, he was stabbed clean through the back, yet he shrugged it off completely. Immunity to damage—how do you even fight that?"

He sighed, shaking his head.

"If Starrk had that kind of ability, he wouldn't have gone down so easily…"

Unintentionally, Tessai had just insulted the entire Arrancar army again—highlighting the vast gulf between Quincies and Hollows.

Yes.

One side had no cheat.

The other was the cheat.

The Schrift—the lettered divine power—was the Quincy's greatest advantage.

Still, for most viewers, the true nature of that power remained a mystery.

The Thousand-Year Blood War was only beginning to unfold.

But one thing was clear—

After hearing Lille Barro's furious roar, Urahara's trio could already sense it:

Once he entered Vollständig, his power would skyrocket, beyond logic, beyond reason.

A true god among men.

———

Moments later, as everyone held their breath—

"BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!"

A cascade of explosions flooded the screen, blinding light blooming again and again.

The battlefield was still the same—

the shattered ruins of the Royal Realm's True World Castle.

But now—

A colossal silhouette loomed in the sky, blotting out the light.

A halo gleamed above his head.

His face was marked by vertical yellow lines.

A cocoon-like form enveloped his body, and from his back spread four pairs of immense, translucent wings.

As the camera zoomed in, the full sight of Lille Barro's Vollständig: The Judgement of God came into view.

And with it—

the crushing weight of divinity itself.

All across the worlds, viewers could only whisper—

"Such… overwhelming pressure…"

"That thing—just by existing—feels like a god!"

"Each of those beams of light… stronger than a thousand Ceros combined!"

"Can anyone really defeat that?"

In Las Noches, silence fell once more.

The Arrancar, who had only just begun to recover from despair, froze again.

Their faces were pale, eyes wide.

The aura of Lille Barro's Vollständig pressed against them like a mountain, suffocating, merciless.

Only Aizen's reiatsu had ever felt like this.

Did that mean… this Quincy was equal to Lord Aizen?

Or worse—stronger?

The very thought sent a chill down their spines.

If just one pureblood Quincy could reach such heights…

how many more like him existed?

Hopelessness spread like a plague through Las Noches.

It felt like the end of the world.

———

On-screen—

"BOOM!"

Another surge of divine energy erupted.

The light blasts shattered everything within hundreds of meters—buildings, towers, all erased in the explosion.

With nowhere left to hide, Kyōraku was forced into the open.

"Well now…"

He exhaled, his straw hat singed, his smile weary.

"This… might be a bit of a problem, huh?"

He looked utterly cornered.

As if the game had finally ended.

As if he'd accepted defeat.

———

"What? No way…"

Gin Ichimaru frowned, his foxlike grin fading for once.

"Giving up already? That's not Kyōraku's style."

He wasn't wrong.

Lille's Vollständig was overwhelming—every blast was like a miniature nuke, vaporizing everything in its path.

But surrender? That wasn't who Kyōraku Shunsui was.

From beside him, Aizen's calm voice broke the tension:

"Gin… you misunderstand."

"There is no surrender here. Nor resignation."

"Kyōraku isn't waiting to die—he's preparing."

The faintest glint crossed Aizen's lenses.

"He's been gathering energy, waiting for the right place… to unleash his Bankai."

The room fell silent.

Because Aizen's deduction—like always—was right.

Katen Kyōkotsu's Bankai could only be released under very specific conditions…

and only in the right place could its true power unfold.

———

Then, as if on cue—

Kyōraku moved.

He plunged both blades into the ground, the edges darkening like shadows on water.

From the steel, black pine branches sprouted—leaves scattering like midnight feathers.

Then came the whisper that shook the world:

"Bankai…"

"Katen Kyōkotsu: Karamatsu Shinjū!" ("Flower Heaven Crazy Bone: The Wisteria Tragedy.")

Instantly, the screen plunged into darkness.

Light vanished.

Sound faded.

The air itself seemed to die.

Even through the screen, the viewers could feel it—

A creeping cold.

A suffocating sadness.

A wave of despair that pressed down on their hearts like the depths of the sea.

Those with weaker souls began to shiver uncontrollably, their breath turning to mist.

It was as though the entire world had been dragged beneath a black ocean.

This was no ordinary power—

It was death itself, wearing a smile.

And this—

was only the beginning of his Bankai.

The entire Bleach world fell silent in awe.

Then, all at once—

An uproar.

The screens trembled.

The comments exploded.

And all who watched knew—

They were witnessing something that should never have existed.

A true Shinigami nightmare—

Kyōraku Shunsui's Bankai.
