Waking up in the middle of the night to the scream of his phone, Rihan groaned and reached for it. Minjae's name flashed across the screen, calling at 2 a.m., barely an hour after he and Taeryn had finally fallen asleep.
He glanced beside him.
Taeryn lay sprawled on the bed, skin marked with fresh bruises and bites, one wrist still handcuffed to the bed frame. His breathing was soft, deep, peaceful. Rihan couldn't help but smile before answering the call.
"What?"
"There's another body, Rihan. You have to get over here now," Minjae said over the noise of police sirens blaring behind him.
Rihan was already pushing the duvet aside, heading for the closet. "Send me the address. I'll be there."
"Got it." Minjae hung up.
Rihan dressed quickly, buttoning his shirt and shrugging into his coat when a sleepy voice came from the bed.
"What's going on?" Taeryn blinked at him, voice rough with sleep. His hair was sticking up in every direction, lips still swollen and kiss-bruised.
