Caspian stared at me, that smug smirk gone, his silver eyes hard and unreadable. It was like looking at a snake, coiled and ready to strike, but you couldn't tell when. I leaned back on my throne, one leg crossed over the other, my fingers tapping the armrest like I had all the time in the world. Inside, my blood was boiling. He'd walked back into my Dominion after twelve years, acting like he owned the place, and now he was dodging questions about his father—our uncle, the bastard who sold our pack to Henry Lancaster. I wanted to rip that calm look off his face, but I kept my cool, letting a slow, mocking smile curl my lips.
"What do you know about your father, cousin?" I asked, my voice low, dripping with sarcasm. "The lords, Aurora here, they're all dying to know what that traitor's been cooking up."
