When Renjiro (Aether) and Lumine each took the parchment Freya handed them for imprinting, the former was visibly excited.
Because my idea actually worked.
Yet, a new question arose in his mind.
Consider this…
"I (Aether) and Lumine are currently Genshin Lv.31."
As mentioned before, the Genshin level roughly converts to Blessing level at a ratio of 10:1.
In other words, a Lv.31 Genshin level corresponds to Blessing Lv.4.
Then…
"When I (Aether) reached Lv.2, my Genshin level had already surpassed Lv.10."
"Why didn't I get an 'ex' Transcender rating back then?"
After thinking it over, one possibility occurred to him:
Could it be because this time, it was a 'body-level breakthrough'?
In the original Genshin system, every character, including the Traveler, has a row of white star-like markers.
These indicate how many breakthroughs the character has achieved.
Lv.1–20: zero breakthroughs
Lv.20–40: first breakthrough
Lv.40–50, Lv.50–60… up to Lv.90: six breakthroughs total
Including the initial "no breakthrough" stage, there are seven tiers.
Many concepts in Genshin revolve around the number seven:
Seven Statues of The Seven, seven nations, seven elements, seven Archons of Teyvat, character level breakthroughs, weapon level breakthroughs, constellations…
Then why can't artifacts have seven pieces?
Renjiro couldn't help but complain.
Ahem. Back on track.
Corresponding these ideas to Renjiro's Blessing levels:
When my body reaches Lv.7, the support provided by the 'Genshin System' will go into full power.
This was something Renjiro had known for a while.
Now…
If my guess is correct, every time my body's Blessing level rises, the Traveler Twins created from my 'Abyssal Lunar Domain' avatars will also gain a chance to Transcend.
Hence, when Lv.1 rose to Lv.2, both Aether and Lumine could only reach the sss-1999 rating, the absolute limit of the limit.
The same would probably hold true for the next breakthrough from Lv.3 to Lv.4.
Fortunately, subsequent breakthroughs only increased the Genshin level cap by 10.
Also worth noting…
In the current (Terra-Chaos) world, Lv.3 and Lv.4 are both considered 'Second-Class Adventurers.'
Why the gods classify levels this way? Renjiro didn't know.
But it seemed that whatever the gods understood, the Genshin System also did.
So the Lv.3 → Lv.4 breakthrough wouldn't offer a Transcend chance.
…Is that so?
[Host understanding confirmed!]
The usually silent system actually gave a direct answer this time.
But…
Why didn't you say this earlier?
Renjiro complained silently. What if I had missed it?
[The system cannot respond proactively.]
Translation: You didn't ask.
Well, that was classic.
Renjiro shrugged it off and decided to be sincere in thanking his ever-helpful system:
"Thanks a lot, you little system brat~"

After this brief mental interlude, it was time to focus on the most important matter whenever leveling up: choosing Development Abilities.
"Which Development Abilities do you want to choose this time?"
Freya's expression remained peculiar when asking again.
Consider this: the body had Synthesis, Aether had Forging, and Lumine had Cooking.
Which of these was combat-oriented? None.
And yet, despite Renjiro's "useless" main body, the Twin Stars possessed top-tier adventurer talents. Even abilities Freya had dismissed turned out exceptionally useful in their hands.
"Oh, I've seen that 'Universal Shovel' you designed and the operational plan devised by that Genshin (Ningguang)," Freya said, glancing casually.
"I'll arrange things over there and send people to coordinate with the Hephaestus Familia."
"Soon… once the 'Large Tree Labyrinth' mission wraps up, the Universal Shovel can enter the market."
"Hephaestus herself is interested in this little invention. She already sent word that she wants to meet you."
Her cheerful tone suggested a subtle pride: My little brother is amazing, giving your big sister some face!
Of course, the main matter remained…
"We'll handle that later."
Renjiro (Aether) asked:
"So… Sister, which Development Abilities can Lumine and I choose this time?"
Freya explained:
"Same as last time, your options are identical. Besides the abilities you didn't pick last time ('Magic', 'Hunter', 'Swordsman'), four new options have appeared: 'Luck', 'Escape', 'Purification', and 'Fusion.'"
"Of course, you didn't choose Cooking before, and Lumine didn't choose Forging. Those remain as backup options."
Renjiro smirked internally. That last comment was pure teasing.
On a serious note:
"I remember Development Abilities are tied to the adventurer's past experiences."
For example, in the future of this world, Lililuka, a tiny humanoid girl, gained Alchemy because of her early experiences crafting tricky gadgets. When she leveled to Lv.2, she instead chose Abnormal Resistance to adventure further into the dungeon with her companion, the rabbit boy.
Each adventurer's choices reflect their individual situations and priorities.
As for Renjiro…
"Luck? Me? Forty draws and still no gold… lucky my ass."
He had forgotten that his first draw actually hit gold, even if it was a small pity.
The system clarified:
[This gacha module is unaffected by external forces.]
Meaning: the system wanted to correct the foolish host's misunderstanding.
Escape was easy to understand. In the past few dungeon runs, every time Renjiro had to pass Udaeus, the ability to run faster aligned perfectly with his survival-oriented strategy.
Thus…
"I (Aether) choose Purification, and Lumine chooses Fusion."
Sorry, but these were just too useful.
