Chapter 50 - Meeting in the Middle Floors

There was no doubt: for the Traveler twins, worrying about getting tired was pointless.

All they needed to think about was whether the current monsters were worth the effort.

After all, unlimited stamina truly meant they could do whatever they wanted.

On top of that, they wielded indestructible divine weapons, fought in bodies that couldn't be maimed or broken, shared a limitless mental link, and could unleash Elemental Skills as soon as their cooldown ended, followed by devastating Elemental Bursts fueled by their absurdly efficient energy recovery.

So really, why can't other adventurers understand why the Traveler twins haven't upgraded their Falna through great deeds yet?

Because seven days and seven nights of nonstop, high-intensity combat was something even most first-class adventurers couldn't withstand. Maybe none of them could.

This was a miracle belonging only to Renjiro, a miracle of the Divine Traveler System he was bound to.

Thus, with their unmatched pace, the two of them led the Second Group smoothly down to the 15th Floor, cutting through monsters like vegetables.

================

"I think I finally understand… how such unusual great deeds were ever accomplished."

Riveria, leading the group, murmured inwardly.

Ahead, in a vast cavern, the siblings were "walking" a pack of Hellhounds as if on a stroll.

Well, "walking" was generous.

The Hellhounds were monsters that breathed scorching fire, yet Aether and Lumine treated them like sparring partners.

Their footwork never slowed, efficiency constant.

Occasionally, they'd ease the pace, just to let their stamina bar recover.

But overall, they made it look like a casual dance of slaughter.

From the 10th Floor until now, it had been the same.

And strangely, despite the relaxed rhythm, their efficiency wasn't lacking.

Even Riveria thought that if Anna the [Noble Cat], a Level 4, took point instead, she wouldn't have been any faster.

================

"Lumine-san… do she and her brother never get tired?"

Nervously gripping her staff, Lefiya whispered, half-distracted from her constant tension.

She was so awestruck by the siblings' performance that, for the first time today, she allowed herself a small measure of relaxation.

Hearing her question,

"My guess? It's some kind of ultra-rare Skill."

The answer came from her roommate, Elfy Colette, the so-called Trickster's Grimoire.

A sixteen-year-old human girl with shoulder-length brown hair tied in a side ponytail, cheerful in demeanor but dazzlingly gifted in magic.

Though still far behind Riveria, her magical knowledge was leagues above her peers.

A true prodigy among mages.

At that moment, Elfy whispered her speculation:

"I remember the Freya Familia has the Gulliver Brother, four Level 5 adventurers who, when fighting together, can rival a Level 6.

Maybe the Traveler twins have a similar power, or even stronger.

Like… perhaps when they fight side by side, their Endurance stat is boosted beyond limits."

================

Quite the imagination.

But then, being a genius mage required a strong imagination.

Riveria was like this, Lefiya too.

It was part of their charm.

Just then,

"Hm?"

From the middle of the group, Alicia Forestlight, another Level 4 elven mage-archer, tilted her head.

Her long, wavy chestnut-gold hair reached her waist, and within the Loki Familia she was regarded as the big-sister type.

Gentle, admired, yet known for her severe cleanliness.

The gods had even nicknamed her the Pure Garden.

If Riveria was the peak of current power, and Lefiya the promising star of tomorrow, Alicia stood between them as the spearhead of the second echelon.

Both a talented ice mage and an exceptional archer.

================

Her keen senses twitched, literally, her pointed ears.

She was the first to notice another party approaching from a side corridor.

Narrowing her eyes, she observed quietly.

"They don't seem like the type to have bad intentions."

"Just passing through?"

She relayed her findings to Riveria.

Soon, the rear-guard also turned their attention to the newcomers.

================

Riveria analyzed softly:

"Hmm? That's the Miach Familia. Leading them is the Naaza Erisuis.

They're probably here to gather alchemical ingredients.

Normally, the Miach Familia would send such requests through the Guild, much like the Dian Cecht Familia.

But since the Faithful Hound just reached Level 2 recently, she can manage the Middle Floors herself."

Riveria's expression grew faintly stern.

"Still… coming down as far as the 15th Floor without a Fireproof Cloth is a bit reckless."

As a veteran adventurer, her assessment carried weight.

"For now, ignore them. Finn's orders were to avoid interfering with other parties during the early stages of the Expedition."

"Understood."

================

Meanwhile, things were different for the First Group.

Unlike the Second and Third, each led by a single Level 6, Finn's team contained a dozen first-class adventurers, and no one else.

The smallest group, but the strongest.

Why such a setup?

Simple.

The end of the 17th Floor was home to the Big Wall of Griefation, birthplace of the Floor Boss, the Goliath.

A threat so massive it normally required an entire army to subdue.

Though its usual respawn cycle was one month, there was no reliable way to confirm if it had already been slain.

The Guild had no direct communication channels from the surface to the 18th Floor.

So Finn, following experience, had arranged for the elite First Group to ensure the Goliath's swift defeat.

After all, the first seventeen floors weren't too difficult for the other groups to pass through later.

The Guild ranked the Goliath as a Level 4 threat.

With Finn's group, its defeat was guaranteed.

================

That very afternoon,

"Lumine, Elfy, Lefiya!"

"I missed you so much~!"

"Uh, we've only been apart for… what, half a day?"

"You just want roast meat, don't you?"

"Ehehe~"

The First and Second Groups finally met, courtesy of a flying tackle from the ever-energetic Tiona.

BOOM!
