Chapter 18 - Memories (1) blessed by darkness

A long time ago, before the kingdom of Maleina was ever built. existed a different kingdom, one ruled by elves. It was named Renar. It was a kingdom populated by every kind of elves, Dark elves, Wood elves, and High elves.

Every year, they had a tradition to mate at the same time every 4 years. And each child was born between 2 and 3 years of pregnancy. Each child carried a blessing. and they were blessed differently by each god.

[GOD OF DEATH; GOD OF LIGHT; GOD OF CREATION; GOD OF WISDOM]

Of all the years and time, one day a child was born as a high elf. He had light skin and long ears. One ear was darker than the other in colour. He was blessed by the god of death. He was dubbed Thalrion, a son of the chief. The kingdom heard of the chief's first child. And they gave their blessings, being blessed by the god of death didn't matter to them; they accepted him.

2years later. "Father, look at this, it's Mom, "Thalrion says, showing his father a sculpture he made. "Did you make that? Wow, you have wonderful talent, you even captured her eyes," his father, Aric, says.

Both hear the knocking. "Your mother is back? I don't think they should be done harvesting the fields," he speaks as he walks towards the door and opens it. "Oh, it's you, Thalrion!, Nesa is here for you," says Aric, calling out to Thalrion.

He comes running, excited to show her the sculpture he made. Nesa was the same age as Thalrion; she's a dark elf blessed by the god light.

Thalrion showed her his creation. "That looks like your mom," she says. "That's because it is my mom," he says. He holds her by the hand, and her face turns red. "Let's go to the field to show it to her. " They go to the fields high up in the mountains

Their land was wide and open, and every house was built using wood and bricks. The field was far from the villages, but Nesa and Thalrion ran there. They reached the farm, and in the farm, there were a lot of women working in the fields. And it wasn't easy to find anyone you were looking for. "We didn't think about how to find her in this crowd of people." Says Nesa. while standing in a wooden gate of the farm. It's one of five gates.

"Maybe we should have waited, I mean, this sculpture ain't going nowhere, let's just go back."Says Rex while looking at Nesa. "Okay, then what should we do?" she asks him."I don't know, let's just go back," he says.

"I know what we should do! Let's go over there," says Nesa, pointing toward the forest near the farm.

"I don't know about that. I always get a bad feeling about places like that," Thalrion replies.

Nesa grabs his hand and says, "Come on! I heard there are some delicious fruits there, plus we have nothing else to do back in the village." She pulls him along with a smile.

As they enter the forest, the sunlight is slightly blocked by the tall trees, creating a beautiful display of light, like a disco ball in a ballroom. "This lighting is gorgeous, don't you think, Thalrion?" she asks him.

"Yeah, it is. But why do you always call me Thilrion? My name is Thalrion," he replies, scanning the forest for fruits.

"I thought that as your best friend, I should give you a slightly different name," she said, smiling delightfully at him. Thalrion blushed. Suddenly, a sound came from the bushes nearby. Thalrion immediately heard it and asked, "What was that?" while looking toward the bushes.

A white rabbit popped out of the bushes, as if it had been tracking something by scent. Nesa noticed it, and her cheeks turned pink with excitement. She eagerly ran toward the rabbit, gently picked it up, and rubbed it against her cheek. "It's so soft, Thalrion! You have to try this," she said, extending her hand toward him.

"That rabbit's tail seems longer than usual, don't you think?" Thalrion remarked as he moved closer to the bushes for a better look. As he parted the foliage, he noticed something unsettling. Peering into the shrubs, he was startled to see a creature with a gigantic head, sharp teeth, and piercing grey eyes. The creature was bizarrely connected to the rabbit's tail that was atop its head.

"Nesa! Run!" Thalrion screamed in terror. The creature let out a roaring growl and swung its massive arm, sending him crashing against a huge tree. The impact was brutal; his head was swelling with blood, and to him it felt like he was hit on the head by a bat; he was slightly losing his vision, and everything was becoming a blur. "No, I can't die now, Nesa is in trouble," he thought while slightly seeing Nesa being approached by the creature.

"Come, move. I can't let her die like this; we both can't die like this." he slowly stood up, his head was red in blood, and was dripping in it. "I will survive and I will save Nesa," he grabs a branch that was down on the ground. He charged at the creature, "Nesa! Run!" he screamed out to her, and he struck the creature on the head, and broke the branch on the process.

The creature was not annoyed and turned around and attacked Thalrion with its arm, but Thalrion slightly dodged and got caught by its long claw on the cheek. He fell onto the ground." Nesa!, Nesa!!" he shouted to her, while she was lying on the ground with her eyes wide open and paralyzed to the ground. Thalrion's voice where slightly reaching her, but slowly she heard him shouting her name, "Nesa!". She got back to her senses.

and realised that Thalrion was in danger, she saw Thalrion being chased by the creature, leading it away from her. "Thalrion, his in danger, and it's all my fault," she says. She noticed the rabbit was still near her. She quickly grabs a rock and smashes the head. The creature screamed in pain and unleashed a huge roar in pain. Thalrion saw this and used the broken branch and stab it in the eye. The creature roared in pain. and held its eyes in pain.

"Now is our chance to get away," says Thalrion while running toward Nesa and grabbing her by the hand to run. The creature jumped like a frog and landed in front of them. It roared in their faces, it attacked them. Thalrion kicks Nesa out of the way and gets caught by the attack, sending him flying and bashing into a tree. knocking him out.

The creature lunges at Nesa, capturing her before leaping to where Thalrion is standing. It seizes him as well. With one eye bleeding, it locks its gaze on them, as if struggling to decide which one to eat first. Nesa screams at the top of her lungs as the creature opens its mouth wide and swallows her whole.

At that moment, a slight change happens in Thalrion's body, a purple aura emits itself, and it melts the tip of the creature's finger. Feeling the heat, the creature lets go of him, unconscious, his body moves on its own, the creature attacks him, and he cuts its arm off with just one attack. The creature senses the danger then it flees. deep in the forest running like a cheetah.

Then it goes into a hidden cave deep in the forest, and in that cave it finds Thalrion waiting. Without hesitation, he slices its head and breaks it in half; his strength was brutal. Then Nesa comes out covered in some nasty mucus. Then Thalrion's body just collapses to the ground.
