However, no matter how fast one rolled across the ground, it could never be faster than the speed of light.
No matter how the creature Degouf tried to dodge, as long as his gaze landed on Cain, the searing light would strike him without fail.
Yu Zhou couldn't just stand by and watch. He was about to step in when suddenly, a red figure burst out from the Crystal Palace.
With a swift kick, the newcomer struck Degouf squarely on the head, instantly knocking him to the ground.
That red figure was none other than Darramb, the Warrior of Strength. Born for battle, Darramb craved combat every single day. After all, this age was far too peaceful—unlike thirty million years ago when chaos reigned.
Now that an enemy had finally appeared, there was no way he would let the chance slip by.
In terms of sheer power, Degouf had already struggled against Tiga's Power Type form in the original movie. Against Darramb, a warrior specialized in raw strength, the fight was bound to be even tougher.
Without giving Degouf the chance to rise, Darramb sat on his chest and hammered his face with one fist after another.
Though Degouf's body was clad in armour, his face remained exposed. Every blow landed with crushing force—flesh meeting fist, each strike driving a scream from the dark god.
After enduring this relentless pummelling, Degouf finally summoned all his strength and managed to shove Darramb off.
But just as he tried to rise, Cain suddenly leapt in and sat squarely on him, pinning him down again.
This time, Cain didn't hold back. Like Darramb, he rained punches onto Degouf's face, drawing more howls of pain.
Their alternating attacks were like a tag-team brawl. Degouf had no chance to counter.
"Shield Strike!"
Darramb summoned his crimson light shield and charged toward Degouf, who was still trapped under Cain's weight.
Realizing what was coming, Cain quickly rolled aside, leaving Degouf completely exposed.
Boom!
The blazing shield slammed into Degouf's body, sending him flying in a wide arc before crashing down into the distance.
"Million Shield Strike!"
But Darramb wasn't done. He sprinted after Degouf's landing point, crimson light shields forming one after another in his hands before merging into a massive, solid construct.
Sensing the mortal danger, Degouf scrambled to his feet and fired beams of blinding light from his eyes, desperate to halt Darramb's charge.
But Darramb braced himself, raising the glowing shield to absorb the rays. Step by heavy step, he pushed forward, undeterred.
Crash!!!
As expected, Darramb's shield smashed into Degouf with devastating force.
This time Degouf didn't even fly away. His body sparked violently, crackling with bursts of electricity, before collapsing backward and exploding in a fiery blast.
Dusting off his hands and dispersing the shield, Darramb looked utterly at ease.
Cain, however, felt a little awkward. He had meant to finish the monster himself, but in the end, Darramb had taken the victory.
The two warriors released their transformations and rejoined the others.
Yu Zhou, meanwhile, was deep in thought as he watched Degouf's explosion fade.
"In the original Ultraman Dyna storyline, there was never a Dark God like Degouf," Yu Zhou murmured to himself. "Which means… his appearance must be the result of some deviation in the timeline."
Among those beings worthy of the title Dark God was Enomena, the electromagnetic demon from Tiga's tale—capable of manipulating minds through waves of energy.
Degouf, however, was of an entirely different nature: a being of darkness and light itself. There seemed to be no connection between them—two gods of different elements.
Still, five thousand years ago, Dark Gods could only appear if summoned by a Dark Messenger. In that ancient age, humanity possessed strange arts as well—rituals and magic, though against kaiju they were nearly useless.
Yu Zhou chuckled inwardly. If I could really travel back five thousand years, I wouldn't mind learning some of those arts myself…
Then it hit him. "Wait… I actually can go back."
He suddenly remembered: through Charija's time machine, he still had thousands—perhaps tens of thousands—of travel opportunities left unused.
"Yu Zhou, what are you thinking about?"
Masaki's voice snapped him out of his thoughts.
"Nothing. Just wondering why this monster suddenly appeared here," Yu Zhou replied. "After all, aside from that fool Himala who once invaded, no other being has ever dared to intrude on R'lyeh."
Masaki stroked his chin thoughtfully. "You've got a point."
Ordinary kaiju could sense the overwhelming aura of this place and wouldn't dare approach. For R'lyeh to suffer an attack now was… unusual.
As evening fell, Yu Zhou pushed the thought aside and returned to the Crystal Palace to rest.
Tomorrow, I'll find Charija and make use of the time machine. If anyone can send me five thousand years into the past, it's him.
Elsewhere, Camearra simply shifted forms to mend the shattered, web-like barrier around the palace before reverting to her human guise and retiring to her quarters.
The next morning, after breakfast, Yu Zhou set out.
To find Charija, he headed to the coastline. Before long, he spotted the massive silhouette of King Guesra thrashing in the waves—feeding, as Charija had instructed.
And sure enough, Charija himself was sitting quietly on the shore, watching the beast in silence.
"Charija. You look pretty free these days," Yu Zhou called as he approached.
"I am," Charija admitted with a nod. "There's nothing much to do lately."
Yu Zhou grinned. "Then how about this—interested in going back with me… five thousand years?"
Charija blinked. "Five thousand years ago? What on earth would you do there?"
"Simple." Yu Zhou's eyes gleamed with mischief. "To hunt monsters."
