Myron's POV
Let me tell you, seeing a ghost is no fun. Especially when that ghost is your ex-wife who's supposed to be six feet under.
She stood there in the hotel lobby like she owned the place. But it wasn't my Stephanie. This woman stood too straight, like a soldier. Her eyes, which I used to be able to read like a book, were just... empty. Dark and still, like a pond with no fish in it. She had on simple black pants and a jacket, nothing fancy, but she looked powerful. It made me sick to my stomach.
All the fear I thought I'd buried came rushing back. But fear quickly turned to rage. How dare she? How dare she stand there breathing, living her life, when she was supposed to be gone? She was going to ruin everything I'd built these past five years.
I marched right up to her. "Stephanie," I said, my voice low and mean. I wanted to scare her. "You're supposed to be dead."
