Chapter 76 - Chapter 76

Chapter 76: Plan B, Anti-Hulk Protocol

Even with General Ross's blockade of Oscorp, dozens of research staff and their respective teams—totaling over three hundred people—had chosen to come to the tower today.

But now they were sealed inside. Batman needed to evacuate them, turning Oscorp into an empty building containing only General Ross, his military forces, and no one else.

He was currently on Oscorp's tenth floor, body pressed against the tower's exterior wall. Dense webbing shot from his left arm, forming a massive web fifty meters wide at its broadest point.

This web firmly adhered to various reinforced points on Oscorp Tower's exterior wall. The distributed load area was large enough to prevent wall collapse from Batman's exertion.

"I will arrive in five minutes—"

Before Batman finished sending the message, the portable computer on his forearm showed disconnection from Professor Connors's computer.

"The Professor has a problem. I need to accelerate too."

Batman sighed, looking toward his right hand's direction—at the rooftop of the building closest to Oscorp, where Prophet AI was taking over the driving system.

"Barbara, increase the Batmobile's speed to maximum. Activate jump function simultaneously."

Batman spoke quietly to Prophet AI while his right arm began exerting force.

His right arm wasn't connected to webbing but gripped tightly a steel cable over one hundred meters long, formed by three grappling hooks connected end-to-end.

With General Ross's soldiers inside Oscorp Tower, the best method to evacuate research staff remained creating chaos. This time Batman needed a more violent approach.

ROAR!

A hundred meters away on the building rooftop, the Batmobile—having used climbing mode to ascend—unleashed an undisguised engine roar.

Then, under Prophet AI's control, it suddenly burst forward.

As it reached the rooftop's edge, the Batmobile's speed didn't decrease. Instead, all four wheels violently launched, the entire vehicle body catapulting into the air, clearing the rooftop's protective railing.

From the Batmobile's rear, two power jet devices dismantled from the glider activated at maximum output. Two fireballs erupted from the Batmobile's tail.

Simultaneously at the Batmobile's front, three connected grappling hooks synchronized in frantic coiling and retraction.

On Oscorp Tower's tenth floor, Batman—one hand using the massive web firmly adhered to the wall, the other gripping the Batmobile's grappling cable—suddenly exerted force!

The Batmobile's surging horsepower, the edge launch, power device activation, grappling cable retraction—

Combined with Peter Parker's unceasing training during this period, coordinated with Batman's elite combat master's force application techniques!

The four-ton Batmobile was forcibly hauled at extreme speed from a hundred meters away toward Oscorp Tower!

This was something normal Batman could never accomplish with just physical strength. But his current body was "Spider-Man's"!

"Seymour, look—what is that?"

On Oscorp's tenth floor, a soldier General Ross had assigned to guard asked his companion while looking puzzledly at the black shadow outside the window.

"A bird, probably? Can't possibly be Batman. The general confirmed this morning that guy's just an ordinary person in a ridiculous costume—"

The soldier named Seymour hadn't finished speaking when the black shadow outside grew closer and larger.

The massive engine roar was clearly audible even through the window.

CRACK!

Airborne, the Batmobile's crimson headlights illuminated like a beast descending from above, crashing into Oscorp's tenth floor.

The vehicle slid sideways across the floor for over twenty meters, toppling countless tables and experimental equipment before stopping.

Before soldiers and research staff could react, the Batmobile's riot suppression mode instantly activated.

The grappling cable was directly severed. The entire winch assembly automatically detached from the hood, crashing onto the floor with a clang.

Three guns on the left and right of the hood, plus guns on doors and tires—forty-two firearms total—transformed the vehicle into a porcupine. Rubber riot bullets poured out frantically.

"Fuck!"

"What's happening?!"

"Where the hell did this car come from?"

Under Prophet AI's powerful calculation and analytical capabilities, all gun barrels targeted General Ross's soldiers without injuring a single research staff member.

Momentarily, soldiers' wails, screams, and curses formed a cacophony before quickly falling silent. One by one, they were knocked unconscious by close-range rubber bullets causing muscle damage.

Casually discarding the grappling cable, Batman flipped through the window the Batmobile had smashed, entering the tower. Looking at research staff cowering in corners and under experimental equipment out of fear, his deep voice uttered a single word:

"Run!"

Run!

Anyone capable of being research staff, working at Oscorp, wasn't stupid.

After discovering the Batmobile's bullets only targeted soldiers while others remained virtually unharmed, the research staff understood. Then someone shouted, and a crowd rushed madly toward stairs or elevators.

"Stop! General Ross orders— Holy shit, what is that?"

Soldiers from the ninth and eleventh floors, attracted by the tenth floor's commotion, rushed over.

Just as they were about to stop fleeing research staff, the Batmobile's engine sound caught their attention.

"General Ross! Batman drove the Batmobile up to the damn tenth floor!"

"The tenth floor squad is completely down! Requesting support!"

Though Batman hadn't used lethal weapons, soldiers who'd originally been on the tenth floor now lay unconscious. Other floors' arriving soldiers naturally assumed they'd been killed.

So according to Batman's plan, they rapidly contacted General Ross seeking support while no longer bothering with fleeing research staff.

Rat-tat-tat.

Bullets swept toward the Batmobile and Batman. Batman rolled sideways, pulling open the Batmobile's door before forcefully slamming it shut, creating the illusion for soldiers that he'd hidden inside.

Then the Batmobile charged toward soldiers while Batman himself jumped out the window again amid the chaos, rapidly climbing upward along Oscorp Tower's exterior wall.

One.

Two.

Three.

While climbing, Batman silently counted seconds. When he reached the forty-fifth floor, one hand reached toward his utility belt, extracting two blackened pumpkin bombs.

Calling them pumpkin bombs was no longer quite accurate. They'd completely lost pumpkin bomb characteristics, replaced by pure blackness and a prominent bat symbol.

Batman didn't throw the modified bat-bombs inside Oscorp Tower but instead released his grip, tossing them toward three directions outside Oscorp.

Under precise second-counting calculation, almost the instant research staff on Oscorp's first floor tried to rush out but were stopped by soldiers stationed outside—

BOOM!

Intense white light, piercing high-frequency noise, and powerful concussive force knocked soldiers to the ground.

During the day, research staff naively thought General Ross wouldn't use weapons inside the tower. But now, with the Batmobile's thunderous entry and rat-tat-tat gunfire, these naive research staff finally understood they couldn't continue staying here.

"Crowd evacuation plan, step one successful."

"Now executing Plan B. Anti-Hulk Protocol."
