Dane introduced Shayera's background and identity to Diana and Batman.
She received two questioning looks.
Batman always suspected everyone, and Diana was somewhat suspicious of all the women around Dane.
But they were pressed for time and had no leisure to dwell on such minor matters. Dane immediately set up a huge dream space around Gotham, which could slightly block the power of the dream stone.
"What do we do next?" Batman asked.
Dane thought for a moment and said, "It seems to find the mastermind, we can only ask one person for help."
"Who?"
"Lucifer."
The Dream Lord should know the location of the dream stone, but now he and Dane were in a competitive relationship, so it was clear he wouldn't tell him the whereabouts of the dream stone.
Batman's expression was subtle; he looked at Dane: "Are these things also in your predictions?"
Dane shook his head, "The future has changed somewhat, but don't worry, at least for now, things haven't gone out of control."
Batman then turned his gaze to Gotham: "I must stay here. At a time like this, some people might take the opportunity to do something."
He knew some villains wouldn't miss this opportunity of chaos in Gotham, and he had to keep a constant watch.
Dane nodded, but he warned: "Don't get too deeply involved. The magic I've cast on Gotham has a time limit."
With that, he took Wonder Woman and Hawkgirl and left Gotham.
When the three opened their eyes again, they were in Los Angeles.
Hawkgirl was surprised; she had never seen such efficient teleportation technology.
But when they saw where Dane walked in, they were astonished to find that it was actually a bar.
Lux was as quiet as ever.
By now, Dane was considered a regular. He greeted Mazikeen and sat down in front of Lucifer.
Diana and Shayera stood behind him, one on each side.
Lucifer sized up the group playfully before speaking: "Quite the ladies' man, Dane."
Diana and Shayera exchanged glances, their expressions somewhat subtle.
Dane didn't waste words with him and went straight to the point: "I have already obtained two dream artifacts, and the third is already in sight, but I need your help."
"Oh?"
Lucifer was very surprised. Are young people nowadays so efficient?
Or are dream artifacts that easy to find?
But he asked curiously, "First, how am I supposed to help you? And second, why should I help you?"
But Dane was calm. "Let's address the first question. I hope you can help me summon the Three Goddesses of Fate. They can tell me the answers I seek."
Shazam isn't very adept at using 'fate' related magic, which is usually the domain of Witches. It's said that the Three Goddesses of Fate favor the Witch lineage.
Dane felt that if he tried to summon the Three Goddesses himself, they probably wouldn't even bother with him, which is why he came to Lucifer.
Even for the Three Goddesses, if Lucifer has something to ask of them, they can't possibly give him no face at all, right?
Then he looked at Lucifer and continued, "Now for the second question, Lucifer, I know you're tired of Hell."
"But the dream stone is now in the hands of an ambitious man who seems to want to cause a World war."
"If he succeeds, Hell will soon be overflowing with people, and all of this is because of your current inaction."
"If you don't help me now, I'll give the key to Hell to Gabriel and let her complain to God about you. What do you think God will do?"
Lucifer stopped drinking, his eyes burning as he stared at Dane.
"If Earth becomes a ghost realm, you'll lose your playground, and Hell will have a ton of problems waiting for you to deal with."
Dane scoffed, "You'll be cast back into Hell by God, and this time, you'll never get to come out and play like this again until you've completely sorted out the mess in Hell!"
Lucifer couldn't help but retort, "But you're the Lord of Hell now!"
Dane leaned back, completely giving up.
"The worst that can happen is I'll become a God of Death, like Death. When I have time, I'll guide a few souls, and when I don't, I'll stay in the realm of the gods. I'm not part of your system, so God won't bother me."
Lucifer fell silent. If it really came to that, and this man brought up 'Death,' God might have to give him face... This is troublesome!
He pondered for a while with a grim face, then finally said, unwillingly, "Just this once!"
Dane immediately sat up straight, nodding repeatedly, "Of course, of course."
But the perfunctoriness in his tone was almost unconcealed. Lucifer once again updated his understanding of him.
This guy, when he's shameless, he's truly shameless!
But uncharacteristically, he wasn't very angry; instead, a rather novel feeling was brewing in his heart.
Then, Lucifer began to use his divine power to summon the Three Goddesses of Fate.
The Three Goddesses summoned by Lucifer are different from the Three Goddesses of Fate in Greece; they are the source of the Three Goddesses in all legends.
They are both the Three Goddesses of Fate, the Three Goddesses of Grace, and also the Three Goddesses of Vengeance.
Amidst a magical mist, the busts of the Three Goddesses emerged.
A beautiful blonde woman, a hook-nosed old Witch, and a plump little old lady—these were the appearances of the Three Goddesses of Fate.
As soon as the Three Goddesses appeared, they fixed their gaze on Dane, as if they already knew he was the one who would ask the questions.
"Speak, child, you may ask us three questions. Remember, you only have three chances."
Dane, of course, knew the rules, so he immediately asked, "In whose hands is the dream stone?"
The blonde woman's lips curled. "In the hands of John Dee, a man who calls himself Dr. Destiny. He is the son of Ethel Cripps."
Dane understood. This Ethel Cripps was the lover of the second Family Head who had imprisoned Dream Lord Morpheus back then.
She eloped with one of the Family Head's subordinates and stole the three artifacts the Family Head had taken from Dream Lord.
It seems that although this 'Destiny' triggered the plot of the "Dark Justice League," it is still connected to the "Morpheus" story.
Dane continued with his second question: "Where is this John Dee? I need to know the exact location."
The hook-nosed old Witch in the middle replied:
"He is in the dream created by Brute, and Brute is in the dream of a little boy named Jed Walker."
Dane nodded. As long as this Jed Walker is still in the Real World, a tracking spell can find him.
He had one last question left. Dane thought for a while before asking, "Has Morpheus asked you about the whereabouts of the dream stone?"
The plump little old lady at the end chuckled, "A very good question, child. He has already asked, of course. Your time is running out, good luck, young man!"
With that, the Three Goddesses vanished without a trace, just as they had appeared.
Morpheus had indeed begun to search for the dream stone, but Jed... that's Morpheus's blood relative.
Jed Walker's grandmother was once unknowingly violated by "Desire" of the Endless Family and bore a child.
Jed Walker is a descendant of that child.
The Endless Family has an ironclad rule: they cannot harm their own blood relatives.
So Dane quickly realized that Jed was a trap set by "Desire" against Morpheus.
Ah ~ it's time for the long-awaited fishing in troubled Waters.
Having gotten his answers, Dane was no longer in a hurry. With Morpheus acting as his vanguard, why should he rush?
Moreover, he still remembered the plot of "Morpheus." Don't be fooled by how powerful the Dream Lord seems now; if he thinks the dream stone is so easy to get, he's in for a big surprise.
Meanwhile, Morpheus, having learned the dream stone's whereabouts, had already found Jed's location—or, more precisely, the location of Jed's dream in the Dream Kingdom.
His power at this time was not even a fraction of his prime, so it was not suitable for him to appear in the Real World; he knew there was a very powerful opponent waiting for him there.
So he followed the guidance of the dream and found the small dream realm that was outside the Dream Kingdom.
It was really too small. Except for a small floating garden, the surroundings were all void, with nothing else.
When Morpheus tore through the boundary of the small dream, Brute thought Glaub had returned.
When he looked closely and realized it was his master, he was instantly scared out of his wits.
He immediately turned to flee, but Morpheus did not let him go. Although he had lost too much power, in the Dream Kingdom, he was still the undisputed King.
All the sentient dreams in this World were created by him, and Brute, as a creation, clearly could not resist his creator.
So Morpheus quickly absorbed all of his power. Immediately after, he saw John Dee, wearing his ruby!
John Dee clutched the ruby tightly, retreating nervously.
Morpheus pressed closer: "Human, that is mine. You should return it to me."
Despite his fear, John Dee bravely said, "No!"
Morpheus lost his patience. He worried that Dane had already noticed what was happening, so he no longer tried to persuade John Dee and directly reached out to grab the ruby.
But an incredible scene unfolded.
This dream stone had actually been modified by someone else! Morpheus had not anticipated such a situation. Not only did the dream stone not return to him, but it directly drained most of his power.
He fainted in the weakness of losing his power.
And on John Dee's chest, the ruby glowed, seemingly brimming with power.
Just as he was ecstatic and about to grab the gem, an arm grew out of his chest and seized the dream stone.
"Hahahahaha, five hundred years, and I've finally waited for this day."
John Dee screamed in terror, clutching his head, "No! You promised me!"
"That's life, child, life is very cruel!"
A muscular man with a hood, pale skin, and a skull-like face flew out of his body, instantly draining all of John Dee's life force.
"Thank you for dedicating everything you had to the great cause, to me, to..."
"Dr. Destiny!"
