Chapter 66 - Chapter 65: Repeated Demise

As Dane approached the helicopter wreckage, a cloud of toxic gas suddenly sprayed from a corner.

He immediately clapped his hands together, and the toxic gas was gathered into his palms like swallows returning to their nest.

He held the ball of toxic gas in one hand, just like an NBA star holding a basketball.

"Honestly, your survival genuinely surprises me; you should be the type of person without superpowers."

"The years I have lived are an immense wealth you cannot imagine."

From within the helicopter wreckage, Ra's al Ghul slowly rose.

Although he bore injuries, they were not fatal.

"I don't think those whose families were ruined by you would ever think that way."

"Those are just the ravings of the ignorant. A personage like you, would you really care about the thoughts of these mortals?"

Dane looked at him very seriously: "I would."

"For example, I know many people wish you dead, and some of them are good people, while some are bad people."

"Yet you kill them all indiscriminately."

Ra's al Ghul looked at him with a resolute expression:

"For necessary justice, for the purity of the World, some sacrifices are worthwhile."

Dane sneered: "You can continue to adhere to your philosophy, but I am now going to take your life."

"Your time is up, in the name of God."

"No! I will not die today!" Ra's al Ghul knew he was no match for him, but he would never sit idly by and wait for Death!

He pulled out a remote control from his waist, with only one safety bar on it.

"Did you think I only brought one Lazarus Pit this time?"

He smiled chillingly, as if he possessed some secret weapon.

Dane was very helpless; he was already tired of acting, so he simply revealed his plan directly.

"I know, you also brought in a tactical nuclear warhead."

"Your connections in Gotham are really strong; I didn't expect you to actually manage to bring it in."

The expression on Ra's al Ghul's face suddenly stiffened. His gaze at Dane changed from triumph to suspicion.

"You bought a former Soviet nuclear warhead, correct?"

Ra's al Ghul could only nod indifferently, his brain working frantically, wondering how the other party knew.

He knew that even Batman was kept in the dark when he brought that thing in.

Actually, that was because Dane had Cortana disable the Batcave's alarm system. Otherwise, even if Bruce was careless, Barbara would still have discovered it immediately.

"You..."

"You want to ask me why I know?"

Ra's al Ghul nodded blankly, but Dane took the opportunity to activate his Godspeed. He walked in front of Ra's al Ghul as if strolling through a garden.

He said almost imperceptibly: "The one you bought, I sold it to you."

And it was a dud.

This "Head of the Demon" had undergone several immersions in the Lazarus Pit, so his speed and reflexes were much faster than ordinary people's.

From Dane's Godspeed perspective, he clearly saw Ra's al Ghul's finger pull down the safety bar at a speed visible to the naked eye.

But he still wasn't fast enough. Dane grabbed his hand.

With a gentle squeeze, the bones in his hand shattered into powder.

Then he raised his other hand... Exiting the super-speed realm, Ra's al Ghul looked down in astonishment, then let out a tragic laugh:

"So that's it, so that's it. But, this isn't right... Your opponent shouldn't be me..."

In Ra's al Ghul's chest, a slender, black stinger, like an enlarged venomous tail sting, pierced through his chest.

He should have felt hatred, but he felt a divine power on this unassuming stinger.

It was Death calling to him.

Ra's al Ghul, who had bathed in the Lazarus Pit many times, understood this feeling very well.

But Dane wasn't very happy. After killing Ra's al Ghul, he frowned instead.

Because he didn't collect Ra's al Ghul's soul.

This "Kiss of Death" was the divine artifact he had recently forged. He named it "Kiss of Death".

It had only two functions: first, whoever was struck by it would die, even if it was just a small scratch.

Second, the souls of the deceased would be directly collected by him.

That's right, he not only snatched the God of Death's job, but he also snatched the God of the Underworld's job!

The God of Death of Aztec mythology did not have as many divided divine powers as other pantheons; he grasped everything related to Death.

The disadvantage was that having a bit of everything meant being mediocre at everything; the advantage was being comprehensive enough.

But now he couldn't collect the soul. Who was so bold as to snatch a soul from him?

"You killed him?"

Damian suddenly felt uneasy. He directly abandoned Catwoman, not caring what Talia would do to her.

But Talia chased him out, just like him.

"Why did you kill him!"

Damian's mind nearly exploded when he saw Ra's al Ghul's corpse.

He hoped his grandfather would be stopped, but he certainly didn't wish for him to die.

Talia said nothing, directly charging forward with her sword.

Dane didn't indulge her either, directly crushing her sword with lightning speed and then knocking her out with a palm strike.

Fortunately, he held back some of his strength. This person was Damian's biological mother, and he didn't go for a complete kill.

Moreover, Talia didn't seem as heinous as Ra's al Ghul.

Damian hurriedly stepped forward to catch the falling Talia.

When he looked up again, he saw that Dane had already carried Ra's al Ghul's corpse to the Lazarus Pit.

This scene made his heart skip a beat, and a ridiculous thought arose in his mind.

Dane wouldn't have deliberately killed his grandfather just to see the effects of the Lazarus Pit, would he?

It couldn't be, could it?

Then he watched Dane throw Ra's al Ghul into the glowing green pool.

A few seconds later, Damian nervously watched the Lazarus Pit.

It felt like an entire century had passed.

Suddenly, a head emerged from the pool—it was Ra's al Ghul.

He spat out the pool Water from his mouth, gasping for air like a suffocating fish.

Damian was overjoyed. He wanted to shake Talia awake and tell her the good news.

But then he heard Dane muttering softly to the side:

"Why don't I feel the soul returning? Should I try again?"

As you all know, Dane's execution power has always been strong; he acts as soon as he speaks.

So Ra's al Ghul, who had just revived and hadn't even gasped for a few seconds, was once again pulled up by Dane and received a kidney stab.

Under the effect of the Kiss of Death, he died again.

Damian didn't even have time to utter a word to stop him; he was furious!

"What are you doing?!"

Dane ignored him. He was different from other superheroes; criminals, especially serial killers, had no human rights with him.

So Dane threw Ra's al Ghul's corpse back into the pool. This time, he focused his attention on the pool.

Finally, he felt as if the pool had opened an entrance to another World, and an unknown power spread over Ra's al Ghul.

Dane felt evil from this power, an extremely dense and pure evil. He had some conjectures in his mind.

"Indeed, the gifts of fate have long been secretly marked with a price. This Lazarus Pit is His bait."

Dane shook his head regretfully. He feared that the first time Ra's al Ghul immersed himself in the Lazarus Pit, his soul no longer belonged to him.

If Dane's guess was correct, the true Master of the Lazarus Pit was Trigon.

This dark monster was born from the pure evil thoughts of all sentient beings.

He was the overlord of the Dark Dimension, a strong competitor to Lucifer.

Of course, the current Trigon was still far from Lucifer, but His plan for Earth had already begun.

Ra's al Ghul was one of His pawns.

Damian saw Ra's al Ghul emerge from the pool Water again, fearing that Dane would experiment on him once more.

He quickly shot out his grappling hook, pulling Ra's al Ghul to his side.

Ra's al Ghul let him do as he pleased, no longer offering futile resistance.

Once he had guessed Dane's identity, he gave up resisting.

Humans cannot defy God.

Dane didn't try to kill Ra's al Ghul again. It was meaningless.

If Trigon wished, He could revive him at any time, or even grow a new Lazarus Pit directly beneath his corpse, which wasn't impossible.

So, let him be.

But he couldn't say it that way, so he looked at Damian seriously.

"Damian, you want to save his life?"

Damian nodded quickly, shielding Ra's al Ghul behind him.

Dane nodded, "Since that's the case, you must take responsibility and take him to where he belongs."

"If he ever comes out and commits evil again, that will be your fault."

"Do you understand what I mean?"

Damian could only nod. As long as he could save his grandfather's life, he would do anything.

Dane then pointed at Talia: "Her too!"

Talia's crimes were smaller than Ra's al Ghul's, but she wasn't innocent and also needed supervision.

Damian also nodded, agreeing without hesitation.

After arranging things here, Dane instantly vanished. He was going to Wayne Manor to watch the show!

After Dane left, Damian couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief.

He turned to look at his grandfather, not knowing what to say.

"Let's go. As My Lord said, take me to where I should be."

At this moment, Ra's al Ghul seemed to have come to terms with things, appearing very calm.

Damian didn't know how to comfort people, so he just led the way silently.

The direction they were heading was Blackgate Penitentiary.

They had apparently forgotten Catwoman at the ACE Chemical Factory, or perhaps they hadn't forgotten, but simply didn't care.

But after they left, an unexpected person appeared at the ACE Chemical Factory—Harleen Quinzel.

She had escaped from the Underground Room...
