Magic Guidebook Excerpt:
The world is made up of magical elements and mana; every element taking its own form based on how the mana is formed. Below are the six main elements, each one having its own sub-element. Think of it as a tree's roots: the elements are the trees and the roots are the sub-elements.
Fire - Fire magic is one of the most common magic types mainly consisting of attack-type spells and damage dealing abilities. Due to its destructive nature, there are many laws about using fire magic outside of combat, even making some spells illegal to use at all.
Water - Water magic is the number one most commonly known magic type, mainly consisting of defensive and healing type spells. It is most commonly taught in schools during a child's earliest years as it is easy to learn and not at all dangerous.
Earth - Earth magic ne of the more rare types of magic rarely seen anywhere besides mountain villages. Even though that is the case, Earth magic is extremely useful for creating barriers and walls against attackers, even forming some of the mountains we see today.
Air - Air or wind magic is the rarest type of magic based on the four elements. This type of magic has not been well used, so not much is known about how it works, however some say air magic users can change the weather or even carry them in the wind as if they were flying.
Besides the four main elements, there are also two other elements not seen anywhere since ancient times back when the dragon king reigned. These are known as forbidden magics and consist of two elements: Dark and Light.
Dark - Dark magic has not been seen since the times when the world was dominated by dragon, but some speculate that dark magic consists of mind manipulation, beast control, and even raising the dead, yet all of this is just speculation.
Light - Only the Legendary Hero has been known to have the power of light magic, being able to heal wounds almost instantly and destroying darkness with a single swipe of their sword. When the time comes for the hero to be born again, maybe we could learn a bit more about the magic of the sun.
