Saturday morning came with soft sunlight slipping through the curtains, warm enough to make the house feel peaceful for the first time in days. Still, Hye-rin woke up nervous. Excited, but nervous.
She dressed, came out to the living room, and found Joon-hyuk already waiting—hands in his pockets, looking effortlessly handsome even in a simple white shirt and black jeans.
"You're ready?" he asked.
"Yes… but you haven't told me where we're going."
"You'll see."
She frowned lightly. "Is it far?"
"Not too far."
"…Do I need heels?"
"No."
"Ugh—just tell me."
"No." He said it calmly, like her complaints didn't even graze him.
She puffed her cheeks. "You're doing it on purpose."
A faint smirk tugged at his lips. "Maybe."
They stepped outside, the chauffeur opened the door, and she slid in beside him. The entire ride, she stared at him, waiting, hoping, trying to guess.
He kept pretending not to notice.
"Can you at least give me a hint?"
"No."
"Joon-hyuk-ssi."
"No."
