(Part 1)
Scoops Ahoy is too bright, too loud, and too normal for the storm that seems to follow Moon.She stands near the counter, hands folded, watching everyone like she's never seen a group of kids before.
Mike looks around at the others.
"We can't just leave her here," he says."She has no one. And… something's happening in Hawkins again."
Will nods fast."She's connected. I know it."
Lucas sighs loudly."Fine. But if she kills us in our sleep, that's on you."
Moon tilts her head at him like she doesn't understand the joke.
Dustin grins."She's staying with us. That's final."
Steve lifts both hands."Whoa—okay. But just so we're clear: I'm not babysitting a moon-powered mystery girl."
Robin leans toward him."You always say that. And then you end up babysitting anyway."
Moon watches them argue, almost smiling—like she's trying to understand what "friends" means.
Arriving at the Wheeler House
The Party walks Moon back to the Wheeler home.Mike is the first to notice something is wrong.
The front door is slightly open.
The lights inside are flickering.
Every hair on Will's arms stands up.
"Mike…" Will whispers. "Don't go in."
But Mike pushes forward.
Inside the living room, chairs are knocked over. Papers cover the floor. A lamp is shattered.
And the house feels cold. Too cold.
"Mom? Dad? Holly?" Mike calls out.
No answer.
Lucas whispers, "What the hell happened here?"
Moon steps inside slowly, eyes distant, like she's listening to something none of them can hear.
Her voice is soft:"She's gone."
Mike spins toward her."Who?! Holly?! You saw something?! Tell me!"
Before Moon can speak, the front door bangs open again—
Nancy, Jonathan, and Argyle arrive.
Nancy freezes at the sight of the wreckage."Oh my god…"
Jonathan rubs his eyes, totally stoned."Duuuude. What—what tornado hit your place?"
Argyle nods beside him, equally high."Yeah, man. This is like… emotional damage tornado vibes."
Nancy ignores them and grabs Mike by the shoulders.
"Where's Holly?! Did you check every room?"
"We just got here!" Mike shouts back, voice cracking.
Nancy's face drains of color when she realizes the truth:
Holly is missing.
Karen Wheeler in a Coma
Ambulances. Flashing red lights.Doctors speaking too fast.
Karen Wheeler lies in a hospital bed, pale, breathing through an oxygen mask.Her heartbeat is slow but steady.
Nancy sits beside her, holding her hand with shaking fingers.
Mike stands at the foot of the bed, eyes red."She was fine this morning," he mutters. "She was fine."
Jonathan tries to comfort them, but he's too high to form a sentence.Argyle brings a cup of pudding from the cafeteria.
"Hospital snacks, my dudes… very healing."
Nancy doesn't even look up.
She whispers to her unconscious mother:"We'll find Holly. We promise."
Behind them, Moon stands quietly at the door, watching Karen like she's sensing something hidden deep under the surface.
The Next Morning — Hawkins High
Students fill the halls.Moon walks between Will and Mike, her eyes wide like everything is new.
Dustin races up to Eddie at his locker.
"Eddie! Dude! Unknown girl with storm powers. We found one."
Eddie blinks."…What?"
"She moves things with her mind. She controls storms. And I think she likes Steve."Dustin wiggles his eyebrows.
Eddie puts a hand to his chest."Wait—another superpowered girl? Why is Hawkins like this?"
"Because we're cursed," Dustin answers proudly.
Eddie looks over and sees Moon for the first time.He freezes.
"Holy… she looks like a Metallica album cover."
Karen Gives a Warning
Later that afternoon, Mike and Nancy return to the hospital.Karen is awake—barely.
Her voice is weak, cracking like she's speaking through ice.
"Mike… Nancy…"
They rush to her side.
"Mom, mom—we're here," Nancy whispers.
Karen squeezes their hands with surprising strength.
"Find Holly," she rasps."Don't let… him take her."
Mike stiffens."Nancy… she knows."
Karen's eyes fill with tears.
"Go. Before it's too late."
The heart monitor speeds up as she whispers one last thing:
"He wants the girl in moonlight too."
Nancy and Mike look at each other, terrified.
Because they both know exactly who Karen means.
