Chapter 108 - Aftermath.

(Three weeks after the incident)

It's been three weeks since Maylin visited me here in the palace and me meeting that rather strange demon. She looked like a sinner, but despite that, she seemed quite competent and almost menacing.

I tried my best to look for any trace of her, using every resource I have at my disposal to track her down or maybe even find out more about her.

But after weeks of finding no information about her, I decided to redelegate this task to Chrysalis. With her changelings, she might find any information about this mysterious sinner and find out what she's doing.

For now, I needed to make sure my family was safe, the Pale Kingdom was safe, and to inform Heaven that there's currently a rogue sinner after my life. The weapon I found when I first awoke from the dream world was quite powerful.

When I tested it on myself, the weapon was able to cut through my hardened carapace like it was butter. Not only that, the wound that it inflicted wasn't able to heal despite my best efforts. In the end, I needed to amputate my entire arm just to heal that damage.

Not only does it destroy my body, it seemed to also possess the ability to harm me even when I'm in my shade form. This weapon could have the ability to destroy me completely if I'm not careful, and even though I'm still unsure if this was the case, I'm not in a rush to see if it can.

For now, the weapon is safely secured within the deepest part of the castle. Multiple sigils and seals were placed within its room to ensure no one can enter or leave. What's more, multiple guards were placed outside to protect it and stop anyone from entering.

And knowing now that this sinner could enter the minds of the guards protecting the blade, I asked Father if he could supply me with the Kingsmould.

They are quite powerful; not only that, they possess the unique quality of being completely mindless. They could still follow orders, but they didn't possess the higher brain functions needed to form a consciousness, thus being unable to dream.

Once everything was finalized, I requested that everyone involved with this project have their minds completely wiped in order to avoid anyone finding out about this place.

How would I do that? Simple. I worked with the Radiance to channel and enhance my abilities to a degree that would allow me to destroy the very memories of the targeted individuals.

Of course, I had their permission, and once I had them, I began to wipe everyone's memory of the location of the blade so that no one would ever find it.

The only person now who knows where that blade is being stored is me, and good luck trying to break through my mind. With the multiple higher beings inside me, trying to access anything is basically impossible.

But to more pressing matters, I needed to make sure someone was guarding my family 24/7. Normally, a changeling would do just fine for this, but with how Maylin described this stranger, I don't think that's the best option. For now, I'll just make Hornet watch her.

She's been rather mad ever since she went out hunting in the Pentagram, and I fear she may accidentally harm someone if she doesn't let it out. Maybe if she spends time with Charlie, she'll learn to be more open about her problems with me and talk about what's bothering her.

As for my dad and mom, they should be fine for now. My master and the Royal Guard are more than competent enough to protect them… but there were times they couldn't protect me and even allowed a bunch of Goetic teenagers to try to kidnap me.

I obviously took care of them, but I've always wondered what happened to them after.

While the guards are powerful, most of them aren't really that smart. Most are either muscleheads or musical theater nerds. I'll most likely send them a few changelings to be recruited by their ranks.

I really hope that everything I'm doing is enough to protect them.

---

I was currently seated upon my throne within the White Palace. It has been a while since I last sat upon my throne, but with everything that's been happening, along with running Hell and the Pale Kingdom, it has been exhausting.

Maybe I should go on vacation for a few days to get my mind off things for a while.

I've already made sure nothing would go wrong even with my absence, so I doubt anything catastrophic would happen even if I left Charlie in charge for a while.

And as I continued to rest on my throne, something in front of me began to glow. Looking down a bit, a glowing white pentagram began to manifest below me.

"What—?" and the moment I spoke, a glowing flash blinded me, and the next second I found myself inside an apartment room.

It was quite small, seeing as my horns were piercing the ceiling.

"Oh my god! It worked!" a childlike voice spoke.

Looking down a bit, a blonde child was smiling in front of me. His eyes shined like gold, and he had a necklace with a cross.

"Hello?" I gave the child a wave, still a bit confused.

"I did it! I summoned an angel to help me!" he said excitedly.

Angel?
