Chapter 99 - Heart to Heart.

After Bee and I had finally gotten dressed and left the garden to talk in a more private setting—which was my room—I explained to her that I wasn't going to marry Emily, but she then said something rather odd.

"This… Emily girl, who is she? And why does she want to marry you so badly? And if she is… is she at least hot?" Bee asked me.

Not sure what to say to her, I decided to tell part of the truth—kind of hard to explain the whole brain manipulation thing and how Emily's basically immune now.

"Well, Emily's a seraphim, and I really don't know why she likes me—well, other than the fact I'm the only representative of Hell that's allowed access to both realms. And no, she's not hot; she's just… adorable, like Charlie," I told her.

"Wait, so you're telling me this angel girl has literally no prior interaction with you, and she wants to marry you?" Bee added.

"Well, we did meet once when I was inside Heaven's embassy to officiate and recognize my kingdom."

"And how did that go?"

"As well as you'd expect. She was really hyper and told me she'd been dreaming about this day for years—finally meeting me and all."

This caused Bee to think for a second before looking directly at me.

"Babe… can I call you babe? I mean, with us dating and all… is it okay?" she asked me with pleading eyes.

"Of course… honey," I told Beelzebub, which caused her to chuckle a bit.

"Really! That's the best you can come up with?" Bee laughed at me for my rather corny joke.

"What? It fits, doesn't it?" I told her confidently.

"Ha ha, well alright, baby. What I wanted to tell you was… after spending the night with you… I think I don't mind you having someone else," she told me.

"What! Bee, are you… are you breaking up with me?"

"What! No! I'm just saying, since we… made love with one another, I'm positive that you'll always love me. And this silly little wedding that Heaven's planning for you and this Emily girl—I think it'll be good for Hell," she said confidently.

"And how would it be good for Hell? Well, besides the two realms finally being unified."

"Well, there's that, and the exterminations finally stopping. Think about it—this millennia-old culling that Adam would do would finally end. And sure, I personally don't care much about the sinners and what happens to them, but…" Bee was going to say something before stopping.

"But what?"

Bee looked at me with a bit of hesitation in her eyes before finally opening her mouth and speaking.

"Well… Charlie told me not to tell you, since she thinks you'll just stop her and be your overprotective self again."

"I am not overprotective," I told Bee.

Bee simply gave me a look that said, Really? and continued to explain.

"Well, Charlie believes sinners could be redeemed and be sent to Heaven if they tried hard enough. And as much as I hate the sinners, I think she has a good chance, with her being the nicest person I know," Bee explained.

"Hm. Well, that's certainly something, but does she even have proof that this even works? I mean, where would she even redeem them?" I questioned Bee.

"I honestly don't know, but I believe she's onto something. But enough about that," Bee said, doing her best to change the subject. "I wanted to ask you just one last thing… what does Emily look like?"

"Well… here." Using my magic, I created a small photograph from my memories of Emily to show her to Bee. Once I had finished creating the photo, I handed it to her.

And once she grabbed the photo and laid eyes upon it, her eyes sparkled with excitement.

"Holy shit! She's cute as hell! You should totally marry her!" Bee exclaimed.

"And here I thought you'd hate her for stealing me away from you."

"Well, that was before I knew she was this adorable! And besides, I know if you're given the chance, you'll marry me as well!" Bee said, puffing her chest in pride.

"Then is that a proposal from you, Bee?" I said, grinning at the fact that she admitted she wanted to marry me.

Her face suddenly turned bright red before she quickly tried to explain herself out of the hole she had just dug.

"I… I—uh… I need to take care of something!" Bee, her face still red from embarrassment, left using a portal, leaving me alone in my room.

I simply chuckled at her antics before picking up the photo she had left behind.

Looking at the photo more, I placed it down on my bed and got ready to leave. I needed to explain to the council that I wasn't about to marry Emily and that this was all a misunderstanding.

Looking out my window and thinking back to what Bee had said, she did have a small point about the exterminations outright ending if I married Emily. So, thinking about what to do next, I came up with a plan before finally making my way to Heaven.

Filling my claws with energy, I grasped the air in front of me and ripped it open, creating a rift in space that sent me directly in front of Heaven's gates.

Stepping through, I was quickly greeted by Saint Peter, who was holding a large mug full of coffee.

"Hiya! Pure vassal! What can I help you with?" he said before taking a sip from his mug.

"Nothing much, Saint Peter. I just need to talk to the elders of Heaven about… the wedding."

"Oh! If that's all, then come on in! And honestly, I can't wait for this to happen! Everyone's so excited!" he said before opening the gates.

Wait… everyone?

As the gates of Heaven opened, the buildings and streets were adorned with different decorations that looked like Emily and me holding hands and getting married.

Once the gates were fully opened, the winners walking the streets of Heaven quickly took notice of me and, with wide smiles, began to approach me in droves.

Nope.

I said internally, not wanting to deal with the citizens and answer questions. I simply shattered my carapace and turned myself into a being of pure darkness before quickly sinking into the floor and heading toward Sera's office.

This didn't take too long, because I knew where her main office was, so I didn't need to awkwardly ask the citizens for directions.

Once I finally reached her office, I emerged from the shadows and reformed my carapace in order not to frighten her so early in the morning. After fully reconstructing my body, I stood in front of her office door and knocked three times before entering.

And what I saw inside… horrified me.

Sera—while in her office—was wearing merchandise of Emily and me kissing!

Sera quickly took notice of me when the door opened, and with a nervous voice, she spoke.

"I can explain."
