Chapter 52 - Chapter 52 (Area 2 part-7)

The ogre leaps toward me.

I swallow the fly-shaped pill, and immediately feel my body absorb the oppressive power called fear.

The powerful and brave ogre who leaped toward me showed an easy-to-read expression.

[You won: +0.22]

Bang!

[You have killed a 3-skull monster: +0.43]

I have no time to lose. I load 5 bullets into Scarlet Rose and blow its head off with a shot. As I run toward the large log house, I reload Scarlet Rose with another bullet.

...

I don't waste any time. I can clearly see the fear entering my skin as if it were a dark miasma.

I let the fear circulate through my body, cover my body with my fear, kick the door of the big house, and listen to the roar coming from inside the house.

Bang!

Bang!

With my senses sharpened, I had already sensed the orcs guarding the entrance to the big house.

I run quickly, my footsteps echoing on the wooden floor. I don't let my guard down and load two more bullets to replace the two I used.

When I reach the back of the house, an Orc smiles at me with his grotesque expression as he covers himself with two emaciated-looking women.

Bang!

Bang!

The heads of the two women explode. I am not a hero who has come to save a damsel in distress.

[You have killed a human of rank E: +0.12]

The confident expression on the Orc's face disappears, and he tries to reach for a bone staff next to his bone throne.

Bang!

Bang!

The Orc's hand, with which he is trying to grab the bone staff, explodes, and before his eyes, his staff explodes.

"You miserable son of a bitch!"

Bang!

One of his legs is torn from his body by my next shot.

I load five more bullets and smile.

"Let's play, my friend. Although I doubt you understand me," I say, smiling maliciously.

Bang!

My shot blows off his last remaining arm.

-It's a shame he can't play anymore.

Bang!

The orc's neck explodes and his head rolls away with pieces of flesh where his neck used to be.

[You have killed a 4-skull monster: +1.18]

I reload two bullets with less than 10 seconds left before the fear regeneration minute ends. I make sure my body also maintains its fear at maximum, and shortly after, the dark miasma around me disappears.

I made sure to only use the fear points I already had before attacking the orc village, and it was a wise decision. I killed more than 60 orcs with the help of the points I got from the terrifying reward.

I'm glad it was an Orc Shaman and not a Great Orc, as it would have been difficult to fight an enemy with a lot of combat experience.

I look at the Orc Shaman's head and think, "Even orcs make mistakes. He thought he could make me hesitate by using hostages."

I sit on the bone throne and ask the system how many fear points I have.

[Fear points available: 19.79]

I was in danger several times, and my abdomen still hurts.

"System, put 5 points into health."

[Health: Increased from 30 to 35]

"Finally, the pain in my abdomen is gone," I think as I take in my surroundings in the large house.

Then I look at the stone that was on the Orc Shaman's staff.

I take the stone and the system reports.

[Terrifying fragment detected: gemstone containing concentrated fear]

"I'll keep it for now."

Apparently, the remaining orcs outside are in chaos or are abandoning the village.

While sensing, I found a hidden room.

I push the throne, and underneath it there is a tunnel. I go down and sense faint signs of life.

When I reach the bottom, I see three more emaciated-looking women and a pile of animal or monstrous skins.

After looking around, I don't see anything else of value. So I go back up. I still have to kill some orcs.

••••

"I'm calm. Although I could have died. If I had been an ordinary person in this world, I would have died after being shot in the leg. The second death would have been when I was stabbed in the abdomen with a spear. I can't deny that the system is a great ally, although I still think it's related to my transmigration," I think as I watch the surroundings so that Watson can extract the cores from the dead Orcs inside the perimeter wall of the Orc village.

"It's a shame. Some bodies were scattered beyond the walls, but the safe hours have passed, and it's best to wait until tomorrow's safe hours to leave the forest. Still, I kept the Orc shaman's core, which is worth about 1,000 to 1,500 black tokens. I can have a lot of fun if I go back," I smile, but only for a moment.

[Terrifying mission: survive one night in the forest of the Noisy Silence]

[Success: terrifying reward]

[Failure: death]

"Damn, it couldn't be as simple as just waiting," I think, sitting down on a rock protruding from a corner.

As I sharpen my senses, I notice the Mud Men coming out of the riverbank, so I enter the big house and drag the orcs' bodies outside. They are not so heavy due to my strength attribute and the fear I instill in my body to further enhance my strength. In a few minutes, I removed the five bodies, the two women and the three orcs.

Watson and I covered the bloodstains left by the bodies as they were dragged away with dirt to prevent the smell from being detected by the monsters that inhabit the forest, and then we entered the large house.
