Kash:
Everyone turned to look.
"I do not know. Maybe some fish," Lord Ronald replied with a shrug.
I leaned forward and looked into the river. There were fish inside, strange in color but beautiful. Still, that did not explain it. Then I heard the voice again.
"You are the only one who can hear me. I knew it. You are special, and I have been waiting for you for so long."
I shifted my balance to one foot, still checking out the area.
"Don't worry. The others cannot hear me. They are not pure enough. They are not special enough," she voiced while I kept looking around in confusion.
"But if you want to speak with me, you will have to come here alone. Then we can sit and talk for hours," she added, making me feel increasingly agitated.
I stepped toward Iris, who was standing silently in her spot.
"Iris," I called her name, making her turn to look at me. Her beautiful eyes melted my heart. For a moment, I wanted to tell her that her eyes were prettier than the river itself.
