Iris:
I already knew I had upset Kash by not listening to him and going after Luca.
As I reached the hallway leading to the restrooms, I noticed the lights were even dimmer here.
Masked guests wandered past me in pairs. They were whispering, laughing, enjoying their time.
"Luca," I called quietly, stepping deeper into the corridor.
Then suddenly everything went dark. The music stopped. The lights went out.
All I could hear was my own heartbeat. I had not even grabbed my phone.
I had left it in the car in my purse. I lifted my hand to feel the wall, trying to steady myself before someone bumped into me.
However, a warm hand wrapped around my waist from behind, pulling me back into a steady position.
I gasped softly before my back met the wall.
"Iris," someone uttered in a gentle yet deep voice, and as his breath brushed against my ear, I recognized who it was.
Kash.
Even in the dark, I knew him from his voice.
