Iris:
The dinner was so odd to get through, but it finally ended.
Scarlet had already put the kids to sleep by the time I returned.
She stayed in their room with them, insisting they were tired from the long journey and that she should remain there for the night as well, not planning to go to the bar.
I was grateful that at least the kids would be well rested, but when I reached my room again, the first thing I noticed was that there were two beds this time.
Two, not one.
My steps slowed at the entry. The extra bed had not been there earlier.
The sheets were nicely tucked and the pillow looked comfortable, almost like someone was telling me to go to the one with the pink blanket on it.
And who could do it?
Kash.
I stood quietly staring at the new bed when Luca entered behind me.
He stopped in the doorway as well. I noticed the way he examined the beds before grunting.
"Why is Kash trying so hard?" he muttered, stepping inside while rubbing the back of his neck.
