Chapter 33 - 33-Saved By A Handsome Man And My Ex Is Jealous Now

Iris:

The coward she was, after making that comment, she rushed to the door, slammed it shut, and locked it before I could respond.

However, she didn't know that I had no plans to entertain her comments anyway.

I knew she was frustrated by how Kash reacted to her, and she probably decided to take that anger out on me.

But I had better things to do. None of it was my problem.

I headed downstairs, all the way to the parking lot. There were a lot of cars prepared to leave for the first location set. While waiting for Lara, we decided to have a little conversation.

"The name has been approved," Walkin started.

Kash had his black glasses on, one arm resting on the roof of the car while the other was in his pocket.

I couldn't even tell where he was looking because his head was tilted slightly up and his eyes were hidden behind the glasses.

He just nodded, and even that nod was so small it was barely noticeable.

"Lara is checking out outfits upstairs. She's picked a few and is getting dressed again before she comes to join us," Walkin continued.

Once again, Kash didn't respond. Minimal body language. I guessed I was right, he really wasn't in a good mood.

"Also, we leaked a little information on purpose, and the comments online were really surprising. A lot of people said that if a scent like that came out, one that helps their wolf stay young and awake even in later years, they'd happily buy it," Walkin went on.

Finally, I noticed Kash move his head, not in response to the comment, but to notice the man stepping out of his car.

Keith.

Keith had no problem wearing shorts for his first shoot, probably because it was just a minimal one, just shorts.

"Hey, pretty excited!" Keith called out from afar, throwing in a small comment about his excitement.

I smiled at him and turned back to look at Kash and Walkin. Walkin was looking at Kash, while Kash now had his head down.

His eyes were probably in my direction, or maybe they weren't. I wasn't too sure.

In no time, Lara arrived, and we all got in our cars and left for the location. It was a small, cabin-style hotel surrounded by water.

The woods were set up for the shoot, where they were supposed to sit around in their swimsuits, spray themselves with the scent, then jump into the river beneath the waterfall.

After swimming, they'd explain if the scent still lingered on them.

It was beautiful weather, and the fresh air in the woods was just amazing.

The two got dressed up, and a few photos and short clips were taken for the first advertisement.

All of it was happening while I walked around, admiring the scenery.

Kash hadn't taken off his glasses once, and I guess I hated that part because I never knew where he was looking.

And why did I even care?

Because most of the time when I looked at him, I saw his head turn toward me.

So I wanted to know, was he really looking at me? Not because I wanted him to, but because if so–why?

"Where's Iris?"

Then Lara's annoying voice snapped me out of my thoughts. I groaned and walked up to her.

"What is it now?" I asked, noticing she was holding a glass of juice in her hand.

"We've been working for about two hours, and your assistant can't even get me a juice right," she complained, so rudely that I wondered if she wanted me to bring her another one myself.

"What's wrong with it?" I asked.

She looked at me, shifting her weight to one foot. She was wearing a bathrobe because they had been in the water on and off for two hours, and it was kind of cold, so I understood.

However, I suggested she drink something hot, but no.

Then she started moving the glass in a circular motion to show me something.

"There's ice in it, and it's so damn cold!" she almost yelled.

There was nobody else around anymore, the others were quite a distance away.

"That's because you asked for a cold beverage," I argued, noticing how she lifted her brow slightly, surprised by my response.

"Anyway, if you want something, go ask Kash's assistant. And please stop bullying everyone," I said tiredly, throwing my hands down and turning around.

But the minute I took a step, I felt a push from behind, and my body went straight into the river.

I couldn't even let out a scream as I fell. Before I knew it, I was already under the water.

It wasn't much of a concern for me, though, because I'd been taught to swim by none other than Kash in the past.

There were a few things he had taught me for survival, and swimming was one of them, since my parents never gave me any basic training.

The skirt was a little too tight for me to move my legs freely, but I managed anyway.

Before I could get out, someone else jumped in behind me.

He wrapped his arm around me and scooped me up like I was light as a feather.

Thankfully, I was already out of the water, with this person holding me from behind.

For a brief moment, I felt like I knew who it was, until I opened my eyes, gasping for breath, and saw Kash standing a few feet away, his coat off and his shirt slightly unbuttoned.

But his movements seemed to have halted when someone else saved me.

That's when I realized the person holding me was none other than Keith.

I struggled in the water while he tried to help me out. I guess part of the reason was that we were quite close to the waterfall, and I had never been in such rough water before.

But Keith helped me out, and I instantly started coughing. I guess being pushed in without warning made me a little dizzy at first.

Once I calmed down, I noticed Keith didn't wear his bathrobe instead, wrapped it around me.

"You'll catch a cold. Don't worry about me, I'm rugged anyway," Keith said, insisting that I keep the robe.

I looked at him, shirtless, and realized he was instantly trying to cheer me up with a joke.

"How the hell did you end up in the water, though?" Keith asked.

While waiting for my response, he reached over and tucked a wet strand of hair behind my ear.

Then a bothersome cough drew both our attention.

"If you're done flirting with a taken woman, I'd like to have a word with her," Kash snapped.

And in the most inconsiderate way, he not only made Keith uncomfortable by saying that but also asked me to join him, because for whatever reason, he didn't look happy.
