JASMINES POV
"That's none of your business, Keith," I told him. It really wasn't.
"Isnt he younger than you? He looks fresh out of college!" Keith complained.
Louis and Keith stared each other down, their eye contact evidently hostile. That wasn't good.
"I think it's a bit ru—" Louis started.
"—It's okay Louis," I interrupted him.
I was extremely grateful for Louis's presence, condidering Keith would have forcibly taken me if it weren't for him. However, I didn't want Louis and Keith to end up having a fight. The Carringtons' and the Aclands' were some of the most important families in the country I didn't want something to start because of me.
Louis was the youngest son, whilst Keith was the chairman of the Acland group. So technically Keith held more power. If Louis got in trouble with his family for speaking out of turn I would feel awful.
To avoid that I wanted to handle this conflict myself, and have Keith was solely focused on me.
