Davina's POV
I clutched my bag strap tighter as the car disappeared from view.
Turning around completely, I faced the massive glass structure towering before me.
My pulse was already racing, but it quickened even more. This was actually happening. I was really here.
I drew in a long breath, gave myself an encouraging little nod—my own silent encouragement—then moved forward, my heels tapping softly on the pavement.
The entrance hall was enormous. Immaculate. Every surface radiated wealth and power. Towering plants occupied the corners, while the floors gleamed like polished mirrors.
Professionals in crisp business attire moved between sections, engaged in phone conversations or reviewing documents. Nobody appeared uncertain. Everyone seemed to fit in perfectly. Everyone except me, perhaps.
I paused to collect myself, shifting my bag's strap while scanning for the front desk.
