Chapter 6: Superheroes Press Conference, HYDRA's Assassination
Superheroes Press Conference.
This was the press conference held by Hawke Group today.
Or rather, a Superheroes exhibition.
It was said that three Superheroes would demonstrate their Superpowers.
And this unprecedented and shocking news packed the entire Superheroes press conference to the brim.
Nearly half of New York City's population rushed over.
The biggest contributor to this was Andre, the Superhero known as Super V.
In New York City, you might not know the mayor, but you had to know New York's friendly neighbor.
Super V.
Especially the phrase: "Your friendly neighbor."
This caused Super V's fan count to grow rapidly, and the daily necessities he endorsed sold exceptionally well.
It made Hawke Group's stock price soar.
And even before this press conference began.
Hawke's stock market already showed an unstoppable upward trend.
Some fans started shouting spontaneously.
"Super V, Super V, we want to see Super V."
Inside Hawke Group, Nathan Hawke felt the strength of his body and the Electrical Energy flickering at his fingertips.
"That's it, the more people who know Superheroes, the more Supervillains I can summon to strengthen myself."
The summoning fluctuations were also gradually increasing, and he believed that it wouldn't be long before the time for summoning would come again.
At the press conference, many people wondered why Nathan Hawke of Hawke Group didn't appear.
It wasn't until someone said that Nathan Hawke was attending a charity gala and thus couldn't come to this press conference, which made some people develop a good impression of Nathan Hawke and Hawke Group.
Nathan Hawke didn't go to the charity gala, but the donated money and welfare institutions were implemented simultaneously.
They would all become loyal fans of Hawke Group and the Superheroes in the future.
Everything had to start with the children.
The press conference was a great success.
Super V's Psychokinesis, The Invisible Man's invisibility, and Electro's lightning bolts made the press conference's excitement surge wave after wave.
After their combined appearance, it was time for individual interviews with each Superhero.
Every Superhero had their exclusive media release area, merchandise, and character standees.
Photo opportunities, handshakes, and interactions.
Making people float with Psychokinesis, taking people invisible with him, and charging small items for others.
Going back and forth, it wasn't until around 11 PM that the entire press conference finally concluded successfully with the help of Hawke Group and the invited police personnel.
However, the anticipated "troublemakers" did not appear.
Inside Hawke Group, the three Superheroes collapsed to the side.
"I'm exhausted," Andre said, a glass of soda floating in front of him.
Max Dillon looked at the ceiling speechlessly and said, "You don't know, when I was charging their small items today, do you know what someone asked me to charge?"
The two looked at him and shook their heads in unison.
Max Dillon pointed downwards.
"Hiss~" The two gasped.
"They're that playful?" The Invisible Man was greatly surprised.
"Quite a lot, some with toys, some without toys," Max Dillon pouted.
"Look at your future fan base," The Invisible Man didn't finish his sentence, but he and Andre both had mischievous smiles on their faces.
"Both male and female?" Andre suddenly looked at him intently, intrigued.
"Uh..." Max Dillon didn't want to talk to him and shot a small Electrical Energy bolt.
Andre waved his hand and dismissed the Electrical Energy.
"Hahahahaha," The Invisible Man laughed very loudly.
This little commotion improved the relationship between the three of them quite a bit.
"Tomorrow you guys will also start being Superheroes. Good luck!"
Andre encouraged the two before leaving.
"Got it."
"No problem."
The Invisible Man had already mastered this routine, so there was no problem at all, and he picked it up very quickly.
Max Dillon was a bit worried; he planned to review his persona and Superhero dialogue later.
Meanwhile, Nathan Hawke and Wesker were discussing.
"Hawke Group's stock market is soaring, and the funds will be available very soon."
"I've already found many suitable locations abroad, just waiting for your funds."
Wesker had already found many suitable locations for experiments and simulated biochemical weapon deployment, just waiting for Nathan Hawke's funds.
Umbrella Corporation's funds could only sustain domestic research; anything further would be a net loss. Equipment, transportation, and labor all required a substantial amount of capital, and without a robust financial chain, these tasks couldn't be accomplished.
After discussing for a while, Nathan Hawke left to rest within Umbrella Corporation.
Wesker didn't need to rest; the virus in his body allowed him to maintain high energy levels for a long time.
Nathan Hawke could too, but not as long-lasting as him. When he summoned Wesker, his strength was only half of Wesker's, and even the virus was the same. Now, in the reverse gene, there was also a part of his sample.
Although he later successively acquired Psychokinesis, The Invisible Man, Electro, and their physical strength.
Seriously speaking, among the three of them, only The Invisible Man's physical strength was higher than theirs. But he could still be killed by a bomb.
Although Nathan Hawke could also not rest, there was no need to.
Early the next morning, Nathan Hawke received a message from Justin Hammer.
"You're a big shot now. Yesterday, when I went to the site, I thought you'd be there, but you weren't. Thinking you must be very busy, I won't say more, but you must come to my place today."
"Okay, I'll be there in a bit."
Speaking of which, his encounter with Justin Hammer was also due to a weapons exhibition.
At that exhibition, Justin Hammer spoke at length in front of a group of Military personnel.
Then someone mentioned Tony Stark's name.
Justin Hammer was stunned for a moment, but as a businessman from a large corporation, Justin Hammer understood. He immediately corrected his posture, pretended not to hear, and continued to praise his "invincible" weapons.
Because of the cheap prices, wide variety, and fast production speed of his weapons, Justin Hammer still received an order from the Military.
Nathan Hawke, on the other hand, came here to build up his connections.
He went to Justin Hammer's place and bought many weapons (for Wesker to use).
When Justin Hammer learned that the visitor was Nathan Hawke, the son of the founder of Hawke Group and its chairman, he immediately had the idea that an extra friend meant an extra source of wealth.
He directly gave him a production price (as Justin Hammer himself said afterwards).
With both of them intentionally or unintentionally wanting to befriend each other, the atmosphere was certainly very pleasant.
And so, the two became acquainted.
He got into the car and instructed the driver to head to Hammer Group.
Until the car began to deviate from its route, Nathan Hawke directly used Psychokinesis to destroy the driver's brain and then drove the car to Hammer Group using Psychokinesis.
"Boss, the target vehicle is back on course," the team member observing everything through a telescope immediately reported.
"Didn't our people already disguise themselves as the driver?" said a man wearing a skull mask.
"Yes, but the car didn't follow our plan."
"Are you saying our person might have been eliminated?"
The person looking through the telescope, his earpiece flashed, indicating a message had come in.
"Boss, according to the observation team from another side, it's still our team member driving, but he seems a bit uncomfortable."
"Uncomfortable?"
"Yes, according to the body language expert in the team, our team member looks completely limp all over."
The man in the skull mask pondered his subordinate's words.
"Then give him something tougher," a cold and lifeless command fell.
The operation targeting Nathan Hawke.
Began.
Behind the car Nathan Hawke was in, two cars sped up.
In front, two cars also began to slow down, determined to block Nathan Hawke's path.
"Who wants to kill me?"
Nathan Hawke's eyes flashed, and he suddenly thought of HYDRA, the evil organization with personnel scattered throughout the agencies of the beautiful country.
The corners of his mouth curved slightly upwards, and he took out a button from his suit and pressed it.
The Superheroes trio, having received the order, began to act.
Andre arrived first, watching the car chase unfolding on the bridge.
With a wave of his hand, the parts of the cars surrounding Nathan Hawke loosened.
The cars began to lose control, crashed, and fell into the sea... biu
A rapidly spinning, specially made bullet was fired.
Under the defense of Psychokinesis, the bullet passed through the special glass and stopped in front of Nathan Hawke's Sun temple.
Andre looked in the direction the bullet was fired from and quickly rushed over.
"Super V is here, retreat quickly." Knowing they were no match, the group left quickly without even collecting their weapons.
"Can you leave?"
Psychokinesis erupted, directly knocking them unconscious.
"Wesker will like the human experiments I send over," Andre said indifferently, looking down at the fallen personnel.
"The plan failed," the man with the telescope immediately said.
"All retreat," the man wearing the skull mask immediately gave the order.
"You want to leave?"
Electro floated up, appearing before them from above.
"Kill him," the skull-headed man immediately ordered, then quickly fled.
The surrounding members began to raise their weapons and open fire.
"Hmph, courting death." Electro watched them raise their weapons at him, his auxiliary aiming device in his eye activated, and Electrical Energy shot out one by one.
Striking these members, Electro cleared the area in an instant.
"It seems Umbrella Corporation has its experimental subjects."
The door of a room was kicked open, and the skull-headed man instantly closed the door.
He exhaled heavily.
After seeing who it was, the bald man asked with a frown, "Rumlow, is the matter settled?"
"Shit."
Facing Sitwell's question, Rumlow could only lash out, kicking a piece of furniture nearby.
Watching the furniture shatter on the floor, Sitwell could only purse his lips.
"Superheroes, especially Super V and Electro, are not something our troops can handle."
Recalling the scene where Electro appeared, and in one encounter, the team was completely wiped out.
Rumlow punched the table next to him fiercely, shattering it.
Sitwell was speechless.
"The boss will understand you," Sitwell could only offer words of comfort to Rumlow.
Rumlow was a Super Soldier King; he probably never imagined a mission failure, but reality taught him a lesson. What it means to have someone better (tactical leaning back).
Sitwell suddenly felt quite sorry for him, he didn't know why, perhaps it was the sympathy of a secretary.
Sympathy for the martial arts faction.
Well, actually, it was schadenfreude.
Sitwell looked at the other party's embarrassed appearance, almost laughing out loud, but unfortunately, he was a professional.
Absolutely, absolutely, he wouldn't laugh.
It was just his shoulders twitching inexplicably.
And what they didn't know was that an Invisible Shadow was silently watching this scene.
