Chapter 59 - Chapter 59: Queen Boa Hancock

This is Amazon Lily on Amazon Lily, a mysterious island, the nation of the female warrior tribe "Kuja Tribe."

As the name suggests, this is an island inhabited only by women. They are raised as warriors from birth, shouldering all household chores and labor, and even after pregnancy, they only give birth to girls.

The island is located in the Calm Belt next to the Grand Line, where giant Sea Kings lurk, preventing ordinary ships from entering the waters near Amazon Lily.

Amazon Lily is the nation of the female warrior tribe "Kuja Tribe," characterized by a snake wrapped around their bodies, possessing the ability to transform it into a weapon at will.

The nation is built in high mountains covered by jungle, with architecture that has a strong Chinese flavor. The island has an absolute "men's ban" norm from centuries ago; any man who enters this place will be eliminated.

There is a pirate crew on the island called the Kuja Pirates, and all the pirates on board are formidable female pirates. Their leader is the world's most beautiful woman among the Seven Warlords of the Sea—the Empress Boa Hancock.

Hancock is a Devil Fruit Ability User of the Love-Love Fruit, capable of petrifying people. She is the Captain of the Kuja Pirates and one of the female Seven Warlords of the Sea, known as the "Pirate Empress." Her subordinates all refer to her as "Hime-sama."

Hancock is the object of adoration for all the citizens of the Amazon Lily. She possesses "Conqueror's Haki," which only one in several million people has. Because of this, no matter what she does, she is always forgiven.

Boa Hancock has long, black hair styled in a Hime cut (a hairstyle of noble princesses during Japan's Heian period), deep blue eyes, and wears a pair of snake-shaped earrings. She has a tall figure, and on her back is a brand called "Hoof of the Flying Dragon."

Boa Hancock habitually refers to herself as "this concubine." She is usually arrogant, willful, and extremely disdainful of others. She will directly kick away small animals that are in her path.

She also frequently throws the former Empress of Amazon Lily out of the window and personally destroys statues that children give her. Furthermore, she wishes to retain her Shichibukai title despite refusing to accept the "mandatory summons" order from Marineford.

Hancock is quite simple and devoted in matters of the heart. She once directly confessed her feelings to Monkey D. Luffy but completely misunderstood love.

After falling in love with Monkey D. Luffy, she often displays a gentle personality. As it's her first love and she lacks dating experience, she frequently misunderstands some of Monkey D. Luffy's words and actions, leading her to fall into her own world of delusions.

When Hancock was 12, she and her two younger sisters, Boa Sandersonia and Boa Marigold, were kidnapped from the Kuja Pirates' ship by human traffickers and sold to the World Nobles—the Celestial Dragons.

Since then, a slave mark was branded on her back. Later, during an entertainment show, she was forced to eat the Devil Fruit, the Love-Love Fruit.

Four years later, a Fishman named Fisher Tiger scaled the Red Line with his bare hands to reach the Celestial Dragons' residence in the Holy Land Mary Geoise, liberating the slaves suffering there. The Hancock sisters were thus rescued and later, with the help of Gloriosa, Rayleigh, and Shakky, returned to Kuja.

After returning to their country, the Empress sisters used the powers of the Devil Fruits they had eaten to deceive the people of their nation, keeping their past as slaves a secret.

At 18, she became the Empress of Amazon Lily (located on Amazon Lily) and the Captain of the Kuja Pirates.

She claimed to have defeated the monster Gorgon of the central sea at the end of an adventure, but the three sisters could never erase the Hoof of the Flying Dragon (the Celestial Dragons' mark, a sign of "inferior humans") branded on their bodies by the nobles.

Once she takes off her clothes and exposes her eyes, nearby people will be petrified. So whenever Hancock bathes, she sets up a protective barrier, forbidding anyone from entering the city.

To protect Amazon Lily from invasion, Boa Hancock accepted the World Government's invitation to join the "Seven Warlords of the Sea."

Because the World Government was going to execute Portgas D. Ace, the Second Division Commander of the Whitebeard Pirates, the World Government issued a mandatory summons to the "Seven Warlords of the Sea."

However, Hancock stated that she did not want to go but also did not want to give up her "Seven Warlords of the Sea" status. So she petrified all the Marines on the Marine warship (Vice Admiral Momonga avoided the attack by stabbing his hand with a small knife to maintain concentration) and plundered the goods on the warship.

When she returned to the Kuja Palace, she saw Enishita bringing human-shaped dolls, specially crafted by children in her image, into the palace. She immediately destroyed the statues.

And when Gloriosa (the former Empress) advised her to participate in the Marine conscription order, she threw the latter directly out of the window, citing, "Even if it causes the nation's downfall, everyone will forgive me, because this concubine is as beautiful as a Heavenly Immortal."

After Boa Hancock prepared to bathe, the guards set up a protective barrier, but Monkey D. Luffy, who was being chased by Amazon Lily guards, accidentally fell into Hancock's bath and saw the mark on Hancock's back.

Hancock was therefore very angry and used "Perfume Femur," but it was ineffective because Luffy was a rubber man and completely lacked lust. She was very surprised why Luffy wasn't petrified and why Luffy wasn't aroused by her naked body.

Luffy looked for an exit to escape but was quickly caught by the guards. Boa Hancock prepared to execute Luffy. Margaret, Aphelandra, and Sweet Pea (residents Luffy met on Amazon Lily) pleaded for Luffy and were petrified by her.

Boa Sandersonia and Boa Marigold prepared to kill Luffy at the execution ground, but when Sandersonia was about to smash Margaret, Luffy angrily unleashed his "Conqueror's Haki."

Among them, Hancock's sister, Boa Sandersonia, was defeated and hung on the edge of the dueling arena. Due to being caught by the flames from her younger sister Boa Marigold during the battle, her clothes were almost burned off, nearly exposing her mark.

However, Luffy climbed onto her back at that moment, covering the mark with his body. This act completely changed Hancock's and the Kuja Island people's perception of Luffy.

When asked if he would choose to restore Margaret and the others or leave himself, Luffy unhesitatingly chose to restore them. So Hancock decided to tell Luffy about her past.

Boa Hancock called Luffy to her residence. She learned from Gloriosa that Luffy had beaten a Celestial Dragon. So Hancock told Luffy everything about her past and said that she had taken a liking to Luffy and decided to help him.

Later, when she learned that Luffy was going to Impel Down to rescue Ace, she initially did not want to participate in the Marineford War, but to help Luffy rescue Ace, she accepted the World Government's "mandatory summons."

During the Marineford War, when Monkey D. Luffy was attacked by "White Chase" Smoker, she intervened to save him and handed Ace's handcuff key to Luffy, thus receiving a grateful hug from Monkey D. Luffy.

This act was misunderstood by the Empress as the rumored "marriage," and she became so happy that she collapsed to the ground, completely limp. This scene was then misinterpreted by the surrounding Marines as the Empress being defeated by Luffy with a waist fracture .

Afterward, the Empress continued to thwart Smoker's pursuit of Luffy, allowing Luffy to proceed smoothly to the execution platform.

Two years later, Hancock was still infatuated with Luffy. She, along with Margaret, Boa Sandersonia, Boa Marigold, and Gloriosa, saw Luffy off.

She also provided a large amount of food and several years' worth of daily necessities before Luffy left, so that Luffy could enjoy them on his journey, and hoped to become his ideal good wife.

Although Luffy was very grateful to Hancock for preparing food, he explicitly refused the idea of marriage (though Hancock still deeply loved Luffy and had not given up the idea of marriage).

And now, Hancock faces the same problem as Hawkeye. With the abolition of the Seven Warlords of the Sea system, all Seven Warlords of the Sea members have become ordinary pirates wanted by the World Government.

Just yesterday, the Marine besieged Amazon Lily.

Today, at the same time as Hawkeye, Hancock received a call from Akainu. To protect the Kuja Island citizens, Hancock chose to answer the summons and set sail... To be continued...
