~ Back to Mo Yi's POV
My head was aching.
I woke up with a painful yawn, the silence of the room broken only by a steady, deep heartbeat above my head and the sound of a noisy bird. The chaos of yesterday felt like a distant nightmare.
The only difference was that the nightmare was an enjoyable one. There were a lot of questions, but for now, it was good that I was back in bed, snuggled in with Mo Yichen.
My head was splitting with aches, but one thing was sure: I was safe and warm. I allowed myself a small childish giggle.
Something I was not familiar with.
Perhaps it could remain like this.
I lifted my head and carefully studied the hard planes of his chest and jaw. I was overwhelmed with a profound sense of relief.
But first things first!
I slipped out of his arms, an exhilarating feeling coursing through my veins as I grabbed my phone at the bedside table. It was a mountain of missed calls and text messages from my mother.
