Thud, thud, thud, thud, thud!
The sounds of simultaneous thudding echoed through the vents that were a sliver grey in color and possessed a square like shape and were wide enough to fit a medium small box inside.
Amd the cause of these sounds was...
"Uh, I can't believe his plan worked."
A feminine grumpy disgusted voice blarred out in the vents as we now see that its Ely whose been crawling through the vents fir a while.
Her actions couldn't be misunderstood because the vents along with their unique designs and spread patterns came a few unpleasant smells at a few turns in her journey.
Some smell like rotten meat, dirty soggy rags, mucus like and even some areas that were filled with only unfathomable smells that made no sense.
"Uhhhh, I hate this." Ely exclaimed whilst closing her nose with her fingers at a certain point when she paused her movements to remember how was supposed to move.
"Uhh, I think he said...."
Ely mused as flashes of images of Kian telling her the directions flickered in her mind.
"When you enter the shafts-"
His words flickered.
"Go straight then take three lefts, to rights-"
His image flickering vigorously in her memory as she struggles to remember.
"Then you take two more lefts, one more right and then you wait for the signal and then you'll-"
BOOM!
"Huh?" Ely mused in frustration from the interruption of the loud booming that mislead her focus.
Boom!
"Another one?" She muttered with turmoil.
Boom!
"F***!" Elianor cussed out because this time the thud had a deathly hum to it which hit hers ears with a sharp sizzling pain.
She then realised that these consecutive sound bursts and rumbles were of no coincidence, no, it was intact the fact that someone was tailing her.
"Shit, they caught on to me already? I need to hurry." Ely nervously muttered to herself as she turned her head left and right in confusion as she struggled to remember the way to go.
"Was it two rights or two lefts... no three lefts the two rights, righ-"
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Three more loud sound burst rang out from the walls and into the vents with a monstrously sharp echo that hit Ely's ears hard even when she had covered them.
"Hmmph!" Ely muffled in pain as she slowly her head downwards with hoarse pulsing veins slightly seeping through her white elegant skin that was now slightly dirtied due to her frivolous venture through the vents.
"Ah... I think heard something over here."
A limp masculine voice called out as Ely stiffened herself at once as her eyes shot open in shock whilst she covered her mouth to stop the pain that enveloped her ears.
"Hry kid we dont see anything here, what's up?"
An old masculine voice mused out as its silhouette seemed to walked by the area from which Ely had been.
But wait?
Ely's able to move? Yes, she is and she's not just moving, but she's crawling.
Crawling fast yet swiftly as blood dripped from her ears and her pace seemed to increase as she sharp lefts and rights through the corners of the vents.
Meanwhile at the corridor from where Ely was...
"Hey kid, you said you heard something."
"Yah, I did, its just that something..."
"Something what?"
"Something or someone was in the vents."
"Ah... c'mon be serious kid."
"I am just give me another try."
A male teenage prisoner with milky white skin, brown messy, but short hair, brown eyes, a fair physique, yellow teeth and a height of 5'11 feet tall and it was Milo.
And this time he was a bit more clean from the previous situation.
Amidst this, an old man who seemed to look like a gaurd working there who bitterly debated on if Milo had lost with him or something.
"Uh, just trust me okay. Imma do some scouting in there."
"Where?"
"..."
Milo didn't answer as he then repositioned himself just below a vent up on the ceiling as he then looked up and raised his left arm.
"Hey kid, what are-"
Bzzzzzt!
The gaurd whose tension grew as he felt as though they were wasting time tried to ask Milo on what he was doing before he was interrupted by the sudden buzzing of his button phone which had a small rectangular frame that was coated in a shiny black cover as it glowed with a blue hue at the buttons and the screen that lit up with an a call alarm icon.
Beep!
"Yes?"
"#£!#!£!#£!^@"
The gaurd then picked up the call and answered as a muffled voice talked to him with a hint of anger to it.
This brought a cold sweat to the gaurd who immediately walked a bit further away answered the phone.
And as for Milo, who was still focused on the shafts closed his eyes and calmed himself as he thought, 'Now that the old man's out of the way...', he briefly paused as he then tightly curled his fingers into a fist on his palm and concluded as his eyes shot open now transformed with the white part of now olive green his irises and pupils now replaced with a sharp thin oval pupil as tiny jet black scales formed at his eyelids partially and he thought, 'Cardinal technique: hatchling projectile!'
As his left hand's veins began to bulge with an eerie green colour in large number.
They hastily turned black as...
Shhhhrk!
A loud stretching sound blared out.
Shwoop, plink!
Shwoop, plink!
Shwoop plink!
Shwoop, plink!
Followed by the rapid swelling and popping sounds that were dignified with the popping of numerous black scales on his arm that were about 20 in number.
Milo still focused on the vent above him then thought, 'I can get started on some real business.'
He finished as he then jolted his arm upwards slightly and then...
Tink, tink, tink, tink, tink, tink, tink, tink, tink!
The scales then shot into the vents but got stuck on the metal casing of the vent.
Milo knew that this would be a problem, but...
"In times like these my children...," Milo thought out loud as he then pushed his hand behind his uniform and ruffled it a little before pulling the keys from behind his pocket that made a slight jingle as he then pulled his hand to his front once more.
"You've always gotta be prepared."
He finished as then pressed quickly flipped through the keys and found a small grey remote with two dark grey buttons on it.
The upper button held a white bendy arrow that faced upwards on it nad the lower one held a white arrow on it that looked exactly like the upper one but had an x on it.
Click!
Milo wasted no time as then clicked the upper one.
Woooo, swwooooo!
A light gushing sound blared out as it tensified into an energetic burst of wind that blew through the vents and the scales were swept away.
"Ha ha ha, yes, let the search begin."
Milo then put on a proud look on his face as then made his left hand into a snapping gesture and looked at the vent not with focus, but pure excitement.
Meanwhile while deep in the vents...
"Hoo! That was close."
Elianor who had been crawling around for a while had arrived at the place where she remembered Kian's directions ending.
All she had left to was take a right down and she would be at the....
"The postal office? Huh? Why?" Ely mused as she then paused for a moment and closed her eyes and tried to remember any extra details that he might've given her.
"Oh and what about when I get there? What will I do?"
"Hmhmhm, you won't be retrieving anything, no, my dear you'll be retrieving and researching in there."
"Huh what do you-"
Thud!
"Ahh!" Elianor grumbled out in anger as her flashback was cut off by a sudden thudding sound.
Thud!
"Huh, again?"
Ely mused as she then turned her head slightly to see what was the cause of these noises.
Thud!
"Uhhh, what the hell is-"
Ely mused in anger as she then suddenly paused as she looked back in horror and squinted her eyes and in her eyes she saw...
"A shadow? Wait a minute that means..."
Ely thought out loud as she pondered on what the shadow was and then soon released that...
Thud, shwoo, woo, shwoo, woo!
Tge noise echoed once more, but this time sounds of simultaneous slow movement erupted after and then she began to panic as she muttered.
"Someone's here."
