Chapter 63 - Chapter 61: Ghostly Scribbles

Thus, time passed quickly.

Both were completely immersed in the ocean of books until dawn the next day.

Even as they left the library, Alex Baxter's face was still full of excitement; evidently, a whole night soaked in knowledge had given him much inspiration.

After having breakfast at a breakfast shop, several men dressed in black suddenly appeared at the entrance.

"Young master, these are the small Pokémon you asked us to bring yesterday," said one of the men in black, respectfully approaching Alex Baxter as he handed him two Pokéballs.

"Thank you, Uncle Juan. Ah, and this is Charizard's Pokéball, I'm leaving it in your care too," replied Alex Baxter, receiving the Pokéballs happily.

"Don't worry, young master. We've already found a Pokémon recovery clinic for Charizard. I'm sure it will recover soon," Uncle Juan nodded before leaving with Charizard's Pokéball.

Ethan Black, seeing this, couldn't help but click his tongue. There were even specialized clinics for Pokémon! Being rich truly had its perks.

"Alright, we already have the two Pokémon for the experiment. Let's start as soon as possible!" said Alex Baxter enthusiastically as he held the Pokéballs, showing no trace of fatigue after having stayed up all night.

"Let's go, today I'm also ready to risk my life accompanying a knight," joked Ethan Black, shrugging as he walked alongside Alex Baxter toward the laboratory building.

Once there, Ethan Black used Professor Harris's assistant card to open an experiment room.

Normally, students had to pay to use the laboratories, but Ethan Black could use them for free.

Yes, another benefit that could make anyone die of envy.

"Come out, Magneton and Donphan!" exclaimed Alex Baxter upon entering, throwing the Pokéballs.

Magneton and Donphan appeared in a flash of white light.

Apparently, Magneton hadn't seen Alex Baxter in some time. Upon recognizing him, it quickly approached, rubbing its metallic body affectionately against its trainer's cheek.

Donphan, on the other hand, was calmer. It had already been with Alex Baxter during previous rotation experiments, and only a few days had passed since the last time they had seen each other.

"Ethan, for this experiment, Donphan will cooperate with Sandshrew."

"And you, Magneton, during this time you'll continue training the move Rapid Spin, so we'll have more data for comparison," instructed Alex Baxter with logic and clarity.

"Sandshrew, I'm going to need you during this time," Alex Baxter then told Sandshrew.

"As a reward, besides your usual daily food, I'll take care of all the treats! Tell me whatever you want to eat!" added Alex Baxter enthusiastically.

Sandshrew: ≧ω≦

"So, I'll leave Sandshrew in your care these days," said Ethan Black, rolling his eyes as he saw how the little Pokémon let itself be swayed by food. He then took a book he had brought from the library and sat in a corner to read.

Once everything was ready, Alex Baxter began the experiment.

Skillfully, he went to the equipment room and soon found a helmet to measure the power of moves, which he placed on Donphan's head.

"Sandshrew, first use the move Rapid Spin. I want to measure the recoil force under normal conditions."

Once the research started, Alex Baxter seemed like a completely different person. With various instruments in his hands, he had the air of an expert Pokémon researcher.

Sandshrew nodded at the order and began spinning rapidly in place.

Then, under Alex Baxter's instructions, Donphan used the move Tackle and charged forward.

BOOM!

An explosion was heard. Donphan's body was repelled by the Rapid Spin, and the numbers on the helmet's measuring device began fluctuating violently.

Alex Baxter hurried to jot down the data. He then asked Sandshrew to use the move Gyro Ball, adjusting the rotation speed to make it almost identical to Rapid Spin.

Donphan used Tackle again. This time, it was shaken with such force that it took several steps back, while the measuring device numbers fluctuated even more violently—several times more than before!

"What a powerful recoil force!" exclaimed Alex Baxter with his eyes shining with excitement, and immediately asked Donphan to charge with greater speed.

BOOM!

Another explosion. Donphan was sent flying by the impact, lifted into the air and barely managing to stabilize itself. The measuring numbers, as expected, showed an intensity even greater than before.

Alex Baxter, more and more excited, plunged into a frenzied series of experiments, measurements, and deductions.

During that time, Ethan Black came over to take a look, but upon seeing the formulas written on the paper, he felt as if he were looking at ghostly scribbles—he didn't understand a single thing!
