Chapter 72 - Girls? I'm Going to Be a Pokémon Master! [72]

The EcoDome was a facility at Blueberry Academy, designed by Cyrano to artificially replicate ideal habitats for Pokémon. Within this world-renowned ocean garden, every environment existed solely to cultivate powerful trainers.

The EcoDome in Rainbow Wing City was somewhat different. Normally, an Eco-Core sphere would hang suspended beneath the dome, filled with liquid infused with a certain substance imported from Paldea.

This substance emitted Terastal energy, making Tera elements especially active inside the dome.

[Terastallization]:Changes a Pokémon's type, making it shine like a gemstone, crowned with Tera Jewels on its head or other parts of its body.

Honestly, Satoshi thought the concept of changing types was amazing, but he couldn't deny one thing...

Wasn't Terastallization's design kind of...weird?

That whole crown-on-the-head thing was tough to swallow.

Of the four main battle systems, this was the hardest one for him to accept. Even the dances required for Z-Moves didn't shock him this much—sure, dancing could feel awkward, but at least it was fun.

Still, Terastallization was incredibly useful in battles. If someone offered it for free, he'd definitely accept!

It had a kind of beauty that came from sheer power!

Like Incineroar—once you got used to it, you'd love it.

Unfortunately, Rainbow Wing City's EcoDome didn't have this function. In the Kanto region, at most, you could encounter Z-Moves, and even that required a trip to Alola.

Reviving the glory of Kanto—I'm obligated to do it!

I'm already considering Mega Evolution as Kanto's official battle system!

On Saturday, Team MYGO arrived at the EcoDome.

What for? Pokémon battles, of course.

After filling out the registration form, Satoshi headed to the southeastern part of the EcoDome—the Grassland Area.

Grassland Area: Closest to the EcoDome entrance; mostly grassland, swamps, and rocky hills.

"Satoshi, you're trying to catch a Torchic, right? Actually, I want to catch a Fire-type Pokémon too—let's go together."

"Soyo-san, didn't you say in the group chat you wanted to catch a Steel-type? The Steel-type Pokémon are in the Canyon Area~"

"You looking for a fight? …Wait, Anon-chan~ can't I suddenly decide I want a Fire-type?"

Soyo and Anon's daily bickering left Satoshi wondering if these two actually got along or not.

"Ah, Anon, Soyo—you guys should go catch whatever Pokémon you like. Don't worry about me. Seriously, I don't mind at all."

The corner of Satoshi's lips lifted into a radiant, sun-like smile. The genuine warmth in his expression caused Anon and Soyo's faces to flush slightly, their hearts beating uncontrollably faster.

Truth be told, this dense blockhead could be incredibly frustrating (especially emotionally clueless), but when he turned on the charm, he was dangerously attractive.

Too pure!

But honestly, Satoshi also wanted some time alone. The recent battle against Marshadow had shown him a towering wall; since he'd found it, he'd naturally break through it to reach even greater heights.

Usually, the EcoDome set capture limits based on a trainer's family background—but Satoshi had no such restrictions.

It seemed his family had some money.

After all, his parents were already arranging fiancées and such, so clearly they were wealthy enough—although probably not Steven Stone-level rich.

At the moment, Satoshi only wanted to capture a single Pokémon. Afterward, he'd spend the entire day immersed in this place, filled with countless Pokémon; naturally, he planned to battle every one of them.

I'll surpass them all!

Ah, right—and the trainers too. I'll surpass every one of... I mean, battle every one of them!

"Whether it's fire, water, grass, or deep inside the forests..." Satoshi hummed this tune, casually searching out Pokémon or trainers brimming with fighting spirit.

"Grookey, use Grassy Glide!"

"Pachi!"

With Satoshi's order, Grookey knocked a Rhyperior clean off its feet with Grassy Glide.

"Thanks for the battle, Rhyperior."

Then, Satoshi quickly took out a Super Potion and sprayed Rhyperior's wounds, healing it back up.

"Sidon~ (No problem!)"

It felt just like the Afro Buffalo Cup—strong opponents, weak opponents—but this time, powerful opponents appeared in much greater numbers, significantly stronger than typical students' Pokémon. Even the trainers were tougher.

Pulling off an undefeated streak was impossible; his current strength wasn't quite there yet.

Yet that recent complete defeat had fully ignited Satoshi's stubborn, competitive drive.

Absolutely, he'd grow stronger than ever before, climbing to heights no one had ever reached!

Whether it was Marshadow, or even the Elite Four and the Champion...

We don't want to lose anymore!

"Frogadier, Water Pulse!"

With Satoshi's final command, Frogadier launched its shuriken-shaped Water Pulse.

"Koga—!"

In midair, the Water Pulse covered over ten meters instantly, barreling straight at the Steelix and catching it completely off guard.

"Haga~!"

Water Pulse struck Steelix perfectly, knocking it heavily to the ground.

"Amazing... Are you seriously just a student? It's almost like you and Frogadier have merged. I've never seen a trainer synchronize so perfectly with their Pokémon."

The veteran trainer who owned the Steelix returned it to its ball, looking at Satoshi and Frogadier with sincere admiration.

"Yeah, thanks for the battle! Frogadier and I will definitely get stronger—and one day, we'll challenge the League."

"I see. Good luck then—I'll be waiting for you there."

After hearing this, Satoshi didn't linger, quickly moving on to his next location to challenge more Pokémon and trainers.

An opportunity to rapidly get stronger like this EcoDome experience was something he absolutely wouldn't let slip away. He needed to battle repeatedly and reflect on every defeat.

"Satoshi-kun~?" From a spot unnoticed by Satoshi, Nagasaki Soyo peeked out slightly from behind a rock, secretly watching his battles.

Placing her hand gently against her chest, feeling her wildly racing heartbeat, Soyo's face flushed deeply red—her breathing becoming unsteady.

"Haa...haa..."

Her breaths, dripping with desire, filled the air with a thick, ambiguous atmosphere. Her moist red lips trembled ever so slightly.

"Fufu... (Can you not be this creepy?)"

Whimsicott, standing beside her, shivered at its trainer's bizarre behavior.

Initially, Whimsicott thought it had been summoned for battle. Who knew its job was to cover up for its perverted trainer, concealing their movements with sneaky, underhanded moves.

"Whimsicott, Satoshi-kun's moving. We need to keep up—make sure you support me properly, okay~? Otherwise, I'll introduce you to Hydreigon."

Soyo's eyes shimmered with an indescribable, frightening desire, pulling Whimsicott forcefully as she moved.

"Fufu... (Such a mafia boss...waaah, I wanna switch trainers already~~)"
