Chapter 255 - Chapter 255: The Day After (Part 3)

-Broadcast-

Lami, who had just experienced the profound moment of connection with her brother, refused to let it end so quickly. She followed the direction where the dove had flown, her eyes locked on its white form as it rose into the darkening sky. She didn't want her brother to leave like this—not now, not when she'd only just found him again after years of separation and loss.

The pain of losing the only remaining blood relative in the world was something only this woman could truly understand, something carved into her soul through years of suffering and survival.

"Brother, don't go!" The Silver Girl's voice cracked with desperation as she began to run, her bare feet pounding against the cobblestones. "Wait for me! Wait for me!"

She sprinted in the direction the white dove had taken, oblivious to the surprised gazes of everyone at the banquet. Marines and pirates alike turned to watch her sudden departure, confusion written across their faces.

Bepo hadn't expected that Law's sister would explode with such intense emotion right under his nose. More than that, Lami had only just recovered from her titan transformation—he'd assumed she would still be weak, exhausted from the ordeal. He certainly hadn't anticipated she would have the physical strength to chase after a bird with such single-minded determination.

The Mink tribe member did not believe that the bird which had landed on Lami's shoulder was actually Law's soul made manifest. His mind was more practical, more grounded. He was simply worried about Lami's safety—concerned that in her emotional state, she might injure herself or collapse from overexertion.

"Lami, wait!" Bepo called out, breaking into a trot as he followed behind her. "Bepo is coming!"

Woman and bear boarded the Thousand Sunny one after another, Lami scrambling up the gangplank with frantic urgency while Bepo lumbered after her as quickly as his bulky frame would allow. The white dove continued flying upward, rising above the ship's deck, and Lami climbed desperately in the direction it traveled.

By some strange coincidence, some trick of fate or destiny, they ended up on the third floor of the Sunny—the specialized plantation area where the Straw Hat Pirates grew their various botanical specimens.

Nami and Robin cultivated flowers here, tending to decorative plants that added beauty to their floating home. Usopp used this space to nurture his magical seeds—the special ammunition that made his sniping so versatile. On this carefully maintained plot of cultivated soil, the dove descended with deliberate grace.

It landed on a single fruit.

A heart-shaped fruit with distinctive swirling patterns.

The scene made both woman and bear freeze in their tracks, their eyes widening with recognition and disbelief.

Lami had been trafficked and imprisoned since childhood, her education limited to survival and servitude. She didn't possess extensive knowledge about Devil Fruits—couldn't identify most of them on sight. But Bepo recognized the heart-shaped fruit immediately, and his reaction was explosive.

"Lami, you're saved!" His voice emerged as an excited shout, nearly a roar of joy. "It's the Ope-Ope Fruit! It's exactly the same as he described!"

The appearance of the Paramecia-type Ope Ope no Mi (Operation-Operation Fruit) would cure the Amber Lead Syndrome that had penetrated deep into Lami's bone marrow with one hundred percent certainty. Medical science had declared her condition terminal, incurable—but this legendary Devil Fruit could rewrite that sentence of death.

Was this all coincidence? The woman found herself deeply moved by the impossibility of it all, tears beginning to well in her eyes. "My brother's soul deliberately led me here," she whispered, her voice trembling with awe and grief mixed together.

Lami hadn't paid attention to the Devil Fruit worth five billion berries at first—such astronomical values meant nothing to her. She had simply wanted to get closer to the dove, to hold it gently in her hands and feel some tangible connection to her brother. She hadn't expected that because of her sentimentality, because of following her heart, she would truly be able to see Law at this moment—or at least, the part of him that remained.

This white dove must carry her brother's soul. She believed it with every fiber of her being.

However, the reunion between siblings could not last. The two had to part after all—fate was cruel that way.

This time, when Lami approached, the dove reacted with the instincts of a wild creature. It was frightened by the approaching human, startled by her sudden movement. It spread its wings in alarm and launched itself from the Thousand Sunny, flying rapidly toward the distant sea level. No matter how Lami cried out tearfully behind it, her voice raw with pleading, the bird never looked back. Within moments, it had completely disappeared from the sight of both woman and bear, becoming just another white speck against the darkening horizon.

Only two lonely figures remained on the ship, standing beside the bright red Operation Fruit that hung from its plant like a promise of salvation. A person's destiny was truly wonderful and mysterious—full of meetings arranged under countless coincidences, connections that seemed to transcend mere chance.

As for whether Law had truly come back in that moment, whether his consciousness had genuinely inhabited that dove even briefly... perhaps only God knew the answer to that question.

The subsequent scenes showing the Straw Hat Pirates were presented through a series of brief dynamic images, quick snapshots that conveyed important information without lingering on details.

Marine Headquarters dispatched a new warship to retrieve the survivors of the Dressrosa operation. Admiral Gin stood on the dock as the evacuation proceeded, his eyes meeting Luffy's across the distance. He did not request the return of his justice cloak—the white coat that still covered Law's corpse in its refrigerated container. Then he raised his hand in a simple gesture of farewell, acknowledging the strange bond that had formed between Marine and pirate during the nightmare they'd survived together.

Luffy held the Paramecia-type Ope Ope no Mi in his hands, studying its distinctive heart shape with uncharacteristic seriousness. He approached Lami and extended the fruit toward her, offering it without hesitation or expectation of payment. Although he received a solid punch from his navigator in the process—Nami's fist connecting with his skull in that familiar way that suggested he'd said something typically Luffy-ish about the fruit's value—the captain's decision was absolute.

Compared to his own crew members, Law's sister needed this Devil Fruit far more urgently. Her life depended on it.

Chopper approached Bepo with a small bag clutched in his hooves. "These are Rumble Balls," he explained, his high voice serious and professional as he adopted his doctor persona. "Use them to protect Lami when you're traveling. As long as you take the medicine, even if there's no full moon in the sky, you can still enter Sulong form and gain combat power comparable to an awakened Zoan Devil Fruit user."

It was insurance—a way to ensure that Lami would have protection during their long journey home.

Afterward, under the watchful gazes of Bepo and Lami, the Straw Hat Pirates set sail once more aboard the Thousand Sunny. The ship's sails unfurled, catching the wind as the ship began to move away from Dressrosa's devastated shores. Luffy and his crew would continue their own grand adventure, working tirelessly toward their ultimate goal of reaching the end of the Grand Line and claiming the title of Pirate King.

The woman and bear who remained behind would work with the dwarfs to construct a suitable ship for their own journey. They would transport Law's body back to their homeland in North Blue, would find a place to settle again in what remained of Flevance. There, they would completely bid farewell to the conflicts and chaos of the pirate world, living quietly in memory and mourning.

After the Dressrosa incident concluded, Eren Yeager had sunk into the sea using his titan hardening ability, encasing himself in crystalline armor that could withstand the ocean's pressure. He successfully evaded the search efforts of the fish-man Marlin, who had been tasked with locating him. For more than a month, Eren wandered the seabed like a ghost, drifting with the currents until he was finally rescued by an acquaintance.

The man who pulled him from the depths wore distinctive blue-tinted glasses and a blue-and-white plaid shirt. His hair was styled in a remarkably unique shape—formed like the number three with a small flame somehow floating on top of it. This strangely-attired individual was actually a master of his craft, despite his almost comical appearance.

The surviving Marine members at Dressrosa had been transformed into wax figures—that had been this man's handiwork. He'd engaged in a brief but intense fight with Admiral Gin when the Marine had come to rescue his subordinates, and remarkably, he had not been at a disadvantage during the confrontation. His Devil Fruit ability possessed a natural advantage that allowed it to restrain the Ame Ame no Mi (Rain-Rain Fruit), which made Admiral Gin particularly wary of engaging him directly.

"It wasn't easy to find you in the sea, Eren," the man complained, his voice carrying genuine annoyance beneath the casual tone. "I wasted more than a month searching."

Mr. 3 (Galdino)

User of the Paramecia-type Doru Doru no Mi (Wax-Wax Fruit)

Eren did not take his subordinate's complaint to heart. After all, the two of them were old comrades who had worked together before—otherwise Mr. 3 would never have taken the initiative to travel all the way to Dressrosa to provide support. Unfortunately, he had arrived slightly too late, his timing just off. He hadn't expected that the Straw Hat captain, whom Buggy had his eye on, would manage to defeat Doflamingo so quickly and decisively.

"Mr. 3," Eren said, using the man's code name rather than his real identity, "is Lord Buggy currently at the Infinity Castle?"

Through Terra's unique powers, Eren could perceive fragments of the distant future—visions that were sometimes clear and sometimes frustratingly vague. He needed to discuss certain things with Buggy the Clown in advance, to make plans early in preparation for an increasingly uncertain timeline. The future he'd glimpsed was branching, diverging, becoming less predictable with each major event.

Ann and Elsa had not returned with Mr. 3 from their various errands. The two women were somewhere out in the world enjoying an extended shopping experience, indulging themselves without concern for schedules or responsibilities. The other officers of Buggy's organization did not dare to intervene or criticize their behavior—they could only let the powerful women do whatever they wanted and hope the collateral damage remained minimal.

It was highly probable that somewhere in the world, there was either a raging fire or a sudden ice storm affecting some unfortunate town. Mr. 3 mourned silently in his heart for whatever shopping destination had attracted the attention of the Flame Empress and the Ice Queen. As for Lord Buggy's current whereabouts, as far as Mr. 3 knew, he should not be at the Infinity Castle at the moment.

"Please wait a little longer," Mr. 3 advised, adjusting his blue glasses with one finger. "Lord Buggy is probably busy with his own affairs, and his clones aren't present at the castle either. You'll end up making the trip for nothing if you go to the Infinity Castle right now."

Mr. 3 spoke the truth as he understood it—there was no point in Eren traveling to the flying fortress if no version of Buggy was currently there to receive him.

Eren felt a flicker of disappointment upon hearing this answer, but he quickly suppressed it. Time wasn't desperately urgent—sooner or later, he would encounter one of Buggy's clones wandering the world. The Clown Emperor's duplicates shared memories with the original, operating as a distributed consciousness network. As long as Eren explained his concerns clearly to any one of them, he could begin planning the next phase of operations.

The Rumbling launched by Terra was comparable to a world-destroying weapon in its devastating scope and power. This Dressrosa incident had been an experiment conducted within controllable parameters, a field test to verify capabilities. Now Buggy fully understood the potential of this ancient weapon-class power and could properly incorporate it into his future plans.

Regarding Dressrosa, there remained one more group of survivors whose fate had not been addressed.

Three members of the World Government's elite intelligence division CP0 had somehow made it through the catastrophe: Ada Wong, Rob Lucci, and Kaku. The trio had chosen to completely hide their identities and disappear from the political landscape. They selected a remote small island in the second half of the Grand Line and settled there quietly, relying on their skills as shipwrights to earn a modest living.

Two months passed after the major incident. Everything remained peaceful and undisturbed. The World Government did not send additional agents to search for them, made no effort to track down their missing operatives. Perhaps, as the three survivors believed, the Celestial Dragons had already officially declared this particular CP0 team dead—casualties of the Dressrosa disaster.

After all, on that apocalyptic battlefield, almost no one except the Straw Hat Pirates had managed to escape completely unscathed. Assuming the CP0 agents had perished was the logical conclusion.

But as the old saying went: if nothing unexpected happened, then something unexpected would definitely happen.
