Chapter 165 - 165

Elric had originally intended to simply bite the Blood Wraith to death—a quick, brutal execution befitting a monster.

But the disgust churning in his stomach overpowered that straightforward impulse.

The idea of putting his dragon mouth on something so filthy was revolting.

So instead, the enormous emerald dragon descended from the sky with terrifying speed, one massive claw sweeping downward in a devastating arc.

The supposedly unstoppable blood waterfall attack was shattered instantly, scattered like harmless rain droplets under overwhelming supernatural force.

Before the dispersed blood could possibly regroup or reform into weapons, the dragon's second claw struck.

A single razor-sharp talon—each one the size of a grown man—pierced straight through the blood demon's throat, punching completely through.

Splurt!

The entire crimson demonic mass collapsed immediately.

The weaponized blood evaporated rapidly into harmless red mist, dispersing into the air and revealing the middle-aged man's pathetic original human body suspended on the dragon claw like meat on a skewer.

His eyes were wide open, bulging grotesquely.

Filled with absolute disbelief.

Filled with bitter unwillingness.

He had devoured blood every single day since the apocalypse began. He had genuinely believed himself invincible, chosen by fate itself to rule this new world.

Yet he was casually killed in exactly two moves by a being he couldn't even comprehend.

No... this isn't possible... I was supposed to...

That was the last coherent thought flickering through his dying brain.

His corpse slid off the talon and fell lifelessly to the blood-soaked ground with a wet thump.

"B–Boss is dead!"

"RUN—EVERYONE RUN!"

The remaining armed thugs scattered throughout the villa compound screamed in complete panic, weapons forgotten.

They finally understood with crystalline clarity.

This was not a fight they could win or flee.

This was divine judgment rendered from above.

Elric looked down coldly from his position hovering in the sky, golden dragon eyes emotionless.

The apocalypse was undeniably cruel—but he was not a saint come to save everyone indiscriminately.

These people had slaughtered innocent survivors, drained blood like livestock at an abattoir, and deliberately turned others' suffering into their own sustenance and power.

They were not victims of circumstance.

They were willing accomplices to atrocity.

The dragon's massive jaws opened wide.

WHOOOOSH!

Thousands upon thousands of compressed wind blades erupted outward in all directions like a supernatural storm of invisible guillotines.

Agonized screams echoed across the compound.

Bodies were cut cleanly apart mid-desperate-run, limbs separating, torsos bisecting.

Some tried frantically to hide inside buildings, throwing themselves through doors.

The wind blades sliced through concrete walls and wooden structures like they were tissue paper.

Others attempted to escape in vehicles parked nearby, engines roaring to life.

Cars were cleaved perfectly in half lengthwise, occupants dying before they understood what happened.

Within mere seconds of sustained assault—

Silence descended.

The entire blood-soaked villa compound was wiped completely clean of hostile life.

Only the bound survivors—the intended victims—remained alive, still tied in their execution circle.

They stared upward at the dragon hovering in the sky, trembling uncontrollably, eyes filled with overwhelming awe and gratitude.

Some collapsed to their knees despite their restraints.

Others pressed their foreheads hard against the blood-slick ground.

"Dragon God!" someone shouted hoarsely.

"Thank you, Dragon God! You saved us!"

"Please accept our eternal worship!"

Elric landed lightly in the courtyard and smoothly returned to human form, emerald scales receding.

"I'm not a god," he said flatly, his tone brooking no argument.

They didn't listen or stop bowing.

He stopped paying attention to the fervent worship and turned deliberately toward the group of bound captives.

Then—predictably—

A familiar system panel materialized before his eyes.

Elric's gaze settled deliberately on the woman the system had highlighted.

Compared to the others still sobbing or praying, she was noticeably calmer—more composed despite her circumstances.

Terrified, certainly—her accelerated breathing and wide eyes made that clear—but not hysterical or broken.

Her clothes were filthy and torn, her hair matted into knots, her face pale from blood loss and terror.

Yet her eyes remained remarkably clear when they met his.

Strong. Aware. Intelligent.

She looked at him with tears gathering but not falling, gratitude absolutely unmistakable in her expression.

She opened her mouth, clearly about to thank him profusely—

"Come with me," Elric interrupted calmly before she could speak. "Be my woman."

His tone was matter-of-fact, transactional.

"You'll have abundant food, guaranteed safety, and proper shelter. Better treatment than most people left alive."

She froze completely, mouth still half-open.

Three full seconds of shocked silence passed.

"I... I agree," she finally said, voice quiet but clear.

No hesitation after that initial processing moment.

The apocalypse had brutally stripped away comfortable illusions about how the world worked.

Romantic love, conventional morality, personal pride—none of those abstract concepts actually fed you or kept you alive.

And the man standing before her could literally transform into a dragon and obliterate dozens of armed men in seconds.

He was power incarnate in a world where power meant everything.

She would be genuinely foolish to refuse his offer.

Elric nodded with satisfaction.

"Good choice."

He raised the small mirror embedded in his watch, activating the Mirror World portal.

"You'll stay inside this dimensional space temporarily. Someone will come retrieve you and explain everything soon."

Before she could ask any questions—

The mirror's surface rippled and swallowed her whole body, pulling her into the pocket dimension.

Afterward, Elric methodically searched the entire villa compound, collecting stored supplies and discovering several ability crystals hidden in the blood-user's personal quarters.

Everything valuable was stored in his system space.

He sent a brief message through the Heart Network to his women.

"Grace—there's a new woman in the Mirror World. Bring her out later and get her cleaned up properly."

Then, satisfied with the acquisition—

The emerald dragon rose once more into the sky.

This time, Elric deliberately turned his flight path toward the university district rather than returning to base immediately.

Since he was already out actively searching the city, he had decided to make one additional stop.

That thing...

The massive parasitic monster still growing beneath the campus grounds.

He wanted to personally assess how much it had developed during its extended dormancy period.

The dragon streaked across the sky at tremendous speed.

Clouds parted dramatically in his wake.

Wind screamed around his massive form.

But along the entire flight path toward the university—

No additional eligible adopters appeared in his Clairvoyance scans.

Soon enough, the familiar silhouette of the massive university campus came into view on the horizon.

Elric deliberately slowed his approach, decelerating from breakneck speed to cautious hover.

Eyes narrowing with focus.

The air surrounding the campus felt... fundamentally wrong somehow.
