Night desperately avoided sylvia's attacks, he was trying to drag the fight on because of ren. He'd been training since yesterday.
Still sylvia was relentless, her attacks were far to strong and it felt as if she hadn't even begun.
He couldn't wait any longer.
A single thought of sorrow.
That was the first thing she ever said to me about her art. Its basis was a single thought.
Night lunged forward, making his first attack. It was easily blocked by sylvia, returning an even dreadful blow.
Night managed to avoid it, before using the opening in front of him.
"Your weak"
She vanished in an instant, she was far to fast, still he was prepared, switching forms, before preparing an attack.
[Sorrow's Dance: First form- Bloomed sorrow]
He countered her strike, this time he was able to fully counter the shock as well.
She became faster, not giving him a single moment to think. The shock overwhelmed him, right before the finishing blow.
Ren lunged an attack, making her lose a little focus. But even then, she only grew far more stronger.
Night ducked barely, her foot passed where his head had been , ren swung his sword at her. She blocked with ease, but night and ren were in sync.
Making use of every opening they could get. Sylvia didn't mind, easily breaking and blocking they're attacks.
Both of them, still used what they had. Ren lunged forward, his speed was frightening, but Sylvia was far prepared.
Night grew faster, his foot work and attacks were in sync with ren.
A strike from above and below, each aimed at a vital point. She turned the tides, blocking both with her blade, she flung the two away into the ocean.
Walking towards night, she was about to end it, when shards of what seemed like glass rained down. In an instant, every piece ignited into dark flames. Night used the opportunity, to attack. Slicing a piece of her amor away, ren, struck the blind spot.
He jumped back, trying to create as much distance as possible .
Blood slid down her wound, yet she was unaffected. She grew even more insanely faster. Instantly appearing before night, before ren could react, night was sent flying into the mountain. He tried to get up, but he was far too injured.
Ren was speechless, as he braced for her attack. Like he knew what would happen he was sent flying metres away across the beach near the vegetative part of the island.
She walked towards him, and struck him in the chest with her fist, sending him flying hundreds of metres away from the ocean.
When the force slowly weakened, he was stopped by a tree. Blood rushed through his ears and nose.
Even after their series of attacks, all they could amount together was a single cut.
Night tried to get up, even then blood flowed out of his wounds. He was surprised to see the fabric of the shroud torn but that was nothing compared to the true situation.
"I can't beat her"
It was impossible, she was far too strong. He had three more shards, but it was still not enough to stop her.
She instantly closed the gap in an instant, and then, she walked towards him, then stopped when she got about two feets away from him.
"Do you give up, if you do i might reconsider and spare you. Regardless, you will no longer be my disciple"....
Night stayed quiet, he wanted, why was he fighting in the first place. He was about to say yes, until, he saw her eyes.
They were hollow, even at that moment, it felt like she felt nothing.
Slightly beneath them were incomparable sorrow. They were
"Just the same as his"
He stood properly, then said,
"Am not done fighting ".
Flames surged out his body, then he drew the katana he made , although he didn't want to. What was the use in having power, if he was just going to be useless. Just like before.
Sylvia's eyes widened.
Night whispered
[Sorrow's Dance: Second Form- Falling Tear]
Night lunged, his speed incomparable to before, his blade made Sylvia try to defend properly.
But it was just feint.
Ren was already behind her.
Both slashed her with all they had. At that moment, she was finally pushed off the edge.
Power surged into her blade, she lunged at night, ignoring the flame and bringing down multiple slashes, night tried to avoid them but it was impossible, ren tried to step in, but she brushed him off with a deadly attack, shooting him into the air.
It felt like all her humanity had died. It was all sorrow entirely. So he pushed himself off too.
Releasing all the pain he had. The flames grew darker, night was able to fend of her attacks.
But the only problem that remained was, he was no longer night, unless someone did something on time.
"HE WOULD DIE , TODAY!"
Sylvia became even faster, until her limit grew nearer, but night kept countering.
She resulted in using her art.
Her blade became fluid, yet defined, it was fast, yet brimming with power. The moment it hit night, he took the opportunity.
Bringing down all the strength he had into a single attack.
Ren lunged in right at that moment.
As he swung his blade to end her. A thought passed through the endless whips of sorrow.
"Why was he fighting in the first place"
The flames grew darker, as his mind cleared out, he wasn't fighting to kill, but to help her.
He shifted his angle and used the style that popped up in his head.
He lunged at her, his blade was swift and decisive.
Ren followed night's thought, trying to immobilize her.
The flames surged more and more, it was time to end it.
[Sorrow's Dance- New Form- Redeeming pain]
His sword cut through the air, until it rested on her neck.
"I told you i would beat you", night said clearly in pain.
As my blade grazed her neck, all she said was
"That...,that was beautiful "
She smiled, her fogy eyes became clear, as tears rolled down her eyes.
Then, slowly her body broke apart, into darkness.
Master, night gripped her tight, but i haven't even help you yet, pls, don't die.
Plssss,
Sylvia coughed up blood, as she tried to speak.
"When i first saw you, i couldn't figure out why i helped you. I could've killed you from the start but somehow, i couldn't bring myself to."
"Please", tears filles night's eyes, ren looked away, even he didn't know what to do.
"Still, i don't regret it, meeting you, night".
She handed him her sword and a strange key.
"Do whatever you want with the sword, but if you want to live, find the secret of this key."
But, you still haven't told me, what caused your pain.
She didn't want to respond. As her body crumbled completely and all that was left was her face. She whispered;
"Thank you, night, you will always be my disciple".
