Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: The Truth of Thirty Thousand Years (The Emperor's Confession Part)

The armored security car (the Bugatti was left behind) drove them back to the villa in heavy silence.

An Luowei sat in the back seat, hugging Lu Tian'en who was sleeping soundly. The boy was exhausted, but still snuggled deep into his "mother's" arms, seeking safety.

She didn't look at Lu Beichen, who was sitting in the passenger seat (a special agent driving). She just stared at his back.

Viwei. Su Jin. Dijun. Immortal fetus. Tru Tien Dai.

The words were absurd, crazy.

It was like a cheap fantasy movie script. But...

Jiang Suru's desperate scream when she heard the name "Su Jin".

The way she trembled when Lu Beichen said "previous life".

And... Lu Beichen's icy blue eyes filled with murderous intent, something she had caught a glimpse of.

They were...too real.

Most importantly, her own dream. The peach garden, the moon, and the number "thirty thousand years".

The car stopped. They were home.

Mrs. Li and the servants rushed out, their faces pale.

"President Lu! Young Master!"

"Bring warm water, towels, and call the family doctor." Lu Beichen's voice was tired, but calm. "Check on the young master."

"No!" An Luowei immediately objected, hugging Xiaotao tightly. "I... I will be with him."

"An Luowei." Lu Beichen turned around. This was not an order. His voice was almost... a plea. "I need to talk to you. Alone. Please. The doctor needs to check on him. I promise, I won't let anyone hurt him again."

The words "please" and "I" (instead of "I") stunned An Luowei.

She saw the fatigue in his eyes, the despair hidden deep within. She nodded, reluctantly handing Lu Tian'en over to Mrs. Li.

Lu Beichen's private office. This place was absolutely soundproof.

An Luowei sat on the edge of the sofa, her hands tightly gripping the cup of calming tea that Mrs. Li had just brought up. Lu Beichen stood by the window, his back to her.

"You..." An Luowei trembled, breaking the silence. "You... are mentally ill, right? You and Jiang Suru... are both delusional?"

That was the only logical explanation a modern person could come up with.

Lu Beichen laughed. A soft laugh, but bitter and sorrowful.

"I also wish... that was the truth."

He turned around. He was no longer the domineering Lu Zong. No longer the cold tyrant.

This was a man... carrying the pain of a thousand years.

"You won't believe what I'm about to say." He said. "But you heard it. You deserve the truth."

"I... am not completely Lu Beichen."

"Lu Beichen is just the body I borrowed in this reincarnation. My real name is... Beichen Jing."

"I am the Emperor of the Nine Heavens."

An Luo Wei stood up. "You're crazy!"

"I haven't finished speaking. Sit down." He said, his voice not loud, but the invisible pressure made her sit back down.

"And you," he looked straight into her eyes, "are not An Luo Wei. You are Wei Wei. You are the Flower God... the one I love the most."

He began to tell.

He told about Jiu Chong Tian.

He told about the Peach Garden of Memories (Star Moon).

He told about their love.

He told about Lu Tian En... The "fairy fetus" was the crystallization of the love and immortal power of both of them, a unique life.

"Jiang Su Ru... her real name is Su Jin." He continued, "The Heavenly Emperor promised to marry her to me, but I only loved you. She was jealous."

"She schemed, telling me that I accepted to marry her for the throne of the Heavenly Emperor, betraying me."

"No..." An Luo Wei muttered, her hands unconsciously tightening.

"And then," Lu Beichen's voice broke, "when you were at your weakest... she tricked you into going to Zhuxiantai. She... stabbed you with a Shi Shen knife, right in front of me."

CRACK!

An image flashed in An Luowei's mind.

A cold dagger.

A pain that tore her soul apart.

A red dress... (Like Jiang Suru's dress in the office!).

"Ah!" She clutched her chest, a violent heartache coming.

"You felt it, right?" Lu Beichen hurried forward, but didn't dare touch her. "Your soul is remembering!"

"You... despair." He continued, his eyes bloodshot. "You thought I really betrayed you. You didn't give me a chance to explain. You... threw yourself down on Zhuxiantai, right in front of me."

"You drank the water of the River of Forgetfulness. You swore... you would never see me again."

"Enough! Stop!" An Luo Wei screamed, she couldn't bear it anymore. "I don't believe it! This is... this is a ridiculous story! You made it up!"

"Made it up?" Lu Beichen looked at her, the pain in his eyes seemed to drown her. "I punished Su Jin. And I... spent thirty thousand years... waiting for you to reincarnate."

"I looked for you, Wei Wei. I looked for you in every life, but your soul was sealed too strongly."

"Until this life. I found you. I tricked you into signing the marriage papers... because I was afraid. I was afraid you would run away again. I was afraid Su Jin (Jiang Su Ru) would find you again and harm you before you remembered me!"

"Your dream! 'Tinh Nguyet'! The peach blossom birthmark on your wrist... that's the Flower God Seal!" He pointed at her wrist. "And Xiao Tao! It recognized its mother body immediately!"

"This... this is... impossible..." An Luo Wei shook her head, tears streaming down her face. She was both An Luo Wei and... someone else?

"I know you don't believe it." Lu Bei Chen said. "But I can prove it."

"Prove it? How? Are you 'transforming' for me to see?" She laughed mockingly through her tears.

"The soul... doesn't lie."

Lu Bei Chen walked over, he knelt down on one knee in front of her sitting on the sofa. An act... of absolute submission. An Emperor... kneeling.

He took her trembling hand.

"Feel it."

He placed her hand on his left chest, right above his heart.

Thump...thump...

It was beating. Very strong. Very real.

"Vi Wei..." He looked up at her, his eyes no longer the Emperor, no longer the CEO, just a man who had waited too long. "I didn't lie to you. Not in this life, nor in the previous life. I only love... you."

And then, he leaned forward.

He kissed her.

A kiss that wasn't a domineering possession, not a lust.

It was a kiss of recognition. A kiss that carried the pain, waiting, and love of thirty thousand years.

CRACK!!!

The moment his lips touched hers.

The Flower God Seal on her wrist... suddenly burned hot!

And An Lac Vi's mind... exploded.

Thousands, tens of thousands of images flashed by.

The Ten Mile Peach Garden.

The cold black-clothed boy holding "Tinh Hoa Lo" for her.

The first secret kiss behind the tree.

To Cam.

The dagger.

The pain.

Betrayal.

Tru Tien Dai.

The wind howled in her ears...

She opened her eyes.

She looked at LLú Bắc Thần... no, she looked at Bắc Thần Cảnh.

The memories... had returned.

She pushed him away, standing up. Her eyes were no longer filled with An Lạc Vi's confusion, but with Vi Tiên Tử's despair and... hatred.

"YOU!" She screamed, her voice broken. "BẠC THÂN Cảnh!"

She... remembered everything.
