Chapter 83 - Chapter 83: Bulma

Chapter 83: Bulma

"Krillin? I'm not too sure. After we got here, Gohan and I were told to wait here, and then Krillin got taken away by those two female aliens."

Seeing Son Goku scratching his head with a curious expression, Franklin turned his gaze toward Zastin beside him.

Zastin whispered a few words into his wrist, then nodded at Franklin.

Three minutes passed in a flash. Led by the two girls, Krillin walked back into the cabin with a faint blush on his face.

Seeing Franklin and Goku waiting for him at the back, he took a deep breath to steady himself.

"Franklin, are you ready?"

Seeing how reluctant Krillin still looked, Franklin didn't waste time letting him hem and haw.

He asked directly, "What, did you actually hit it off with someone? If you did, I could even help set you two up."

Hearing that, Krillin blushed even harder and frantically shook his head. "No, I just…"

Seeing him act so useless, Franklin turned to the two girls from the Deviluke race.

"Do either of you have a thing for him? If you do, speak up. If not, we're leaving."

Hearing Franklin's question, both Lala Satalin Deviluke and Zastin looked at the girls with interest.

The two exchanged a glance, and then one of them—a petite girl with delicate features and long golden hair—stepped forward.

Franklin was genuinely surprised that someone had actually taken a liking to Krillin in such a short amount of time.

"What's your name?"

The blonde girl glanced at Zastin beside Franklin, and only after Zastin nodded in approval did she lower her head and introduce herself.

"My name is Momo Belia Deviluke. You can just call me Momo."

Franklin nodded in understanding. "Quite a formal name. Let me ask again—do you really have feelings for that little bald guy over there, Krillin? No one forced you, no one threatened you, and there's no political agenda involved. If you're sure, nod your head. But if I find out later you were lying, it'll get very troublesome."

Momo's cheeks flushed pink as she solemnly nodded her little head. "I really do like him. He feels strong and cute, and I think he'll grow even stronger. Our Deviluke race admires the strong."

Hearing such a confession, Krillin's cheeks—and even his bald head—turned red. Franklin turned to Zastin again.

"There's really no political agenda behind this?"

Zastin's expression grew serious. He said sternly, "I can guarantee that. Our Deviluke race disdains such methods. Forcing one of our own into political sacrifice is out of the question."

Now Franklin was sure that the girl named Momo had no hidden motives.

"I believe you. Can she stay on Blue Star for a while? She won't be harmed in any way. I just want to let the two of them develop their feelings."

Zastin thought for a moment, then nodded. "But remember—she must not suffer any kind of harm. That includes that kind."

Franklin looked at Krillin, who was still dazed.

"You heard him. If you can do it, say so. If you can't, say so too. That way, when something goes wrong, no one can blame anyone else."

Snapping out of his daze, Krillin was instantly overjoyed. Blushing, he rushed forward.

"I…I… Of course I can. No—I will."

Seeing Krillin's honest and pure expression, Franklin nodded in reassurance before turning to the petite blonde girl again.

"Momo, how about it? Want to visit Blue Star? Just think of it as a vacation. Your captain Zastin already agreed. If it doesn't work out after some time together, you can return to the ship."

Momo's face flushed again as she nodded. And so, the group of five became a group of seven as they descended onto a sprawling estate on the outskirts of Cainan City.

Zastin, curious about the dragon, came along as well. But Franklin suspected he was actually there to keep watch—after all, with Bulma around, even if Lala didn't mind, the Deviluke royal-appointed ambassador to Blue Star couldn't ignore it.

The moment they landed, as the transmission's white light faded, the trees, sculptures, flowerbeds, and fountains around the estate all sank rapidly underground.

An array of high-tech weapons instantly emerged and locked onto them, black barrels pointed at their faces. Franklin even felt the threat of death.

"You two-timer, you finally showed up. And with quite a crowd this time. Hm, not too bad—just one unfamiliar face. All right, weapons system temporarily deactivated."

Following the voice, Franklin saw a fifteen-year-old girl with a pretty face, an even more balanced figure, and a sharp, stylish outfit standing at the villa's entrance. Behind her stood Saki Tenjōin, Rin Kujō, and Aya Fujisaki.

Krillin froze on the spot, while Goku looked surprised. "Bulma, were you always this young and pretty? You look totally different! Did you get plastic surgery?"

"Goku, no one would think you're mute if you didn't talk."

Bulma, who'd just lost her composure thanks to Goku's words, quickly collected herself when she noticed Lala smiling at her. She walked down the steps toward Lala with a polite smile.

"Hello, Lala. It's our first time meeting, but I've been looking forward to this for a long time."

Seeing Bulma extend her right hand, Lala looked puzzled and turned to Franklin.

"Bulma, you don't need to be so formal. Lala's not too familiar with Blue Star etiquette. Just introduce yourselves."

Hearing Franklin smooth things over, Bulma shot him an annoyed glare, then turned back to Lala with a sweet smile.

"Hi, Lala. Let me introduce myself properly. My name is Bulma Brief. You can call me Bulma. I'm Franklin's girlfriend, and I'll be transferring to Cainan High in a couple of days."

Sensing Bulma's warmth, Lala's eyes lit up. "Thank you for taking care of Lin all this time. I'm really happy to know I'm not the only one who likes him.

Please take care of me from now on, too. This place is far from school. If you'd like, you can move in with us. The house is huge, and I can even open up an extra dimension for you."

Lala's kindness and flawless smile left Bulma a little dazed. All the schemes she'd imagined to deal with Lala were thrown out the window. Realizing her heart was already wavering and her body felt out of control, she quickly took a step back and inhaled deeply.

"I'll think about that. For now, let's have that two-timer summon the dragon and make the wish. Rin, bring the other six Dragon Balls."

As everyone's attention turned to the six Dragon Balls, Bulma circled around to Franklin's side. "Your fiancée's charm is way too much. I'm seriously falling for her. Compared to her, I don't even know what you see in me."

Sensing the hint of sadness in Bulma's tone, Franklin said seriously, "Don't sell yourself short. You're beautiful too. What I told you before wasn't fake. I've never even said those things to Lala—you were the first."
