Chapter 81: Don't Pull Lala's Tail!

Chi-Chi's enthusiasm left Franklin a little overwhelmed. It took him quite a while to finally shake her off. Once he did, he brought Son Goku, Son Gohan, and Krillin with him back to the Deviluke flagship.

As the white light faded, Franklin saw Zastin standing off to the side with a serious look on his face, waiting for them. When he saw the whole group arrive, Zastin stepped up to Franklin and said in a low voice, "Son-in-law, there's a summons. What just happened has already been reported to His Majesty. The King is waiting for you and Lady Lala."

Franklin nodded knowingly. "I figured as much. These friends of mine will need someone to look after them. We've got some matters to take care of shortly."

Zastin's expression remained stern as he nodded. "They're young, distinguished guests—and, more importantly, friends of the son-in-law. Their future is limitless. Even if you didn't say anything, we would never slight them."

Zastin then spoke quietly into his wrist, and two beautiful young women in Deviluke combat uniforms stepped in from outside the teleportation chamber.

"Ahem, Goku already has a family, so don't use that kind of… tactic on him. That bald Krillin over there might be short, but he's a good man. His future's bright too. If you're planning something like I think you are, aim it at him. I'm sure he won't disappoint you."

Zastin caught on quickly and nodded. "Thank you for the reminder, son-in-law. Leave them to these two. I'll take you to see His Majesty."

Franklin gave a light nod, then turned to the others. "Goku, Krillin, follow these two young ladies and take a look around the main ship. Lala and I have something urgent to deal with. We'll be back soon."

When the two girls walked in, Krillin was momentarily confused. But after seeing Franklin wink furiously at him, he understood right away.

"Take your time, Brother Franklin. No rush. The Dragon Balls aren't going anywhere—we've got time."

Seeing Krillin's relaxed, "I get it" look, Franklin and Lala followed behind Zastin toward a hidden compartment.

Zastin led the way, while Lala clung to Franklin's arm from behind.

"Lin, when you talked about time travel earlier… did you mean what I think you meant?"

Hearing Lala's curious question and seeing the sparkle of curiosity in her eyes, Franklin couldn't help but affectionately ruffle her hair.

"You've been holding it in for a long time, huh? I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to keep it from you."

Lala smiled brightly at his apology, her expression full of understanding. "Of course you couldn't talk about something like that casually. If it were me, I'd keep it to myself too."

Feeling Lala's trust, Franklin decided to stop hiding it. He smiled. "That wasn't the main reason. The biggest reason is that time travel isn't something I can control. If I told you too much, it might just make you worry, so I kept quiet about it."

As the two flirted, a bulkhead door slid open. On the screen directly facing them, the Deviluke King—still in his childlike form—had just turned his head, trying to strike a regal pose. But the moment he saw his daughter being held by that infuriating man, the sight of their intimate closeness nearly made him choke on his own rage. They looked like they were about to melt into one person. His aura visibly wavered.

"Ahem, son-in-law, His Majesty is watching," Zastin quietly reminded.

Only then did Franklin snap out of his lovey-dovey state with Lala. He looked up—straight into the King's dark, murderous glare. Those sharp eyes radiated pure killing intent, locking onto him so tightly he felt like he wouldn't survive three seconds.

"You and Lala are getting a little too close, don't you think?! Am I interrupting something here?! And you, Lala! Can you at least pretend to be reserved?! Stay away from that brat!"

"No way. I like Lin, and Lin likes me. You can't stop us, Dad!"

The King's anger radiated even through the screen. Franklin tugged on the stubborn Lala's hand, swallowed to steady himself, and stepped forward.

"Father-in-law, we still have a bet. I won't lose. One day, I will marry Lala."

The mention of their bet made the Deviluke King rein in his anger a little.

"I remember. But don't push it too far, boy. I can always come over there and beat you myself."

"Father-in-law, don't worry. I know my limits. But may I ask—why did you call for me?"

The King snorted, then, remembering the main reason he'd summoned Franklin, forced down the rest of his anger.

"I'll ask you this: there really are Saiyans on Earth?"

"There is one, yes. He even has a child with an Earth woman. May I ask why Father-in-law is asking about this?"

The Deviluke King let out a chuckle, then stared at Franklin with a strange look. "Why? Just making sure I know when you're going to get your ass kicked. With your current power level, I don't see how you'll keep dancing around much longer. Their power isn't that high, but it's more than enough to deal with you. I hope you can keep up that attitude when they get to Earth."

Hearing the King's childish taunt, Franklin could only sigh inwardly.

"Yes, Father-in-law, you're right. I'll work on fixing my low power level as soon as possible. I'll make sure to surpass those Saiyans before they arrive. If there's nothing else, I'd like to get back to training."

Seeing Franklin ready to leave, the King straightened up. "I'm not done talking yet! Don't you walk away. I want to ask—can your pills really make someone's bloodline fully merge?"

Of course—that was the real reason. Franklin nodded seriously. "Yes. Lala's bloodline has already completely fused. Her tail's weakness is gone for good."

"Her tail weakness is gone? For real?"

Seeing the King's delighted expression, Franklin nodded firmly. "I guarantee it. If you don't believe me, I can prove it right now."

The King fixed a piercing stare on him, as if to test him. "You'll test it?"

Franklin didn't back down. He stepped forward, his face serious. "Of course. I'm her fiancé. Who else would test it?"

The King didn't even have a comeback for that. With a helpless wave of his hand, he let him proceed. But before Franklin could act, Lala had already grabbed her own tail. No matter how she pulled, tugged, or squeezed, her expression didn't change at all.

The King and Zastin both stared in shock, eyes wide with disbelief. Lala's face lit up with joy.

"Lin! It's really gone! My tail's weakness is really gone!"

Seeing how excited she was, Franklin reached out and gave it a squeeze himself. Instantly, Lala's cheeks flushed red. She let out a soft moan and collapsed right into Franklin's arms.
