Chapter 149 - Chapter 149: A Monster Driven by Hatred and Anger

Boom!

Clark's Heat Vision continued to blast the Farm.

The two women, who had been magically transferred out of the blast's center, had no choice but to continue using magic to teleport.

As soon as they used spatial magic to jump to the outskirts of the Farm, they were caught by Clark, who possessed Super Vision.

At this moment, Clark was truly "Once I accept my weakness, then I am invincible!"

He allowed Jor-El to control his mind, discarding all sympathy and empathy, and completely abandoning his cowardly and kind side.

He no longer lived a conventional life, no longer confining himself to the small Farm.

With Jor-El's help, Clark, free from all restraints, not only had a completely different personality than before, but his strength also increased by leaps and bounds.

He forced Lana and Chloe into a corner, unable to retaliate, simply by using Heat Vision.

"Whoosh!"

Lana exhaled and took out the spellbook from her embrace.

This spellbook, which contained all her magical efforts, could grant her powerful magic.

It was also one of the sources of her magical talent.

Opening the book, she aimed it at Clark, who was bombing the Farm from the sky with Heat Vision, and silently chanted a spell.

Boom!

A bolt of lightning appeared out of thin air, falling straight down from the sky and striking Clark's body.

The lightning, carrying the power of thunder, with its immense might and destructive force, directly struck Clark from the sky to the ground.

Seeing Clark struck down, Chloe immediately used magic to create a ball of energy ropes, binding Clark.

The magic she specialized in was control magic, which could bind a person's spirit while restricting their physical movement.

If Louise were here, she could seize the opportunity to strip the opponent of their power while she controlled them.

Unfortunately, Louise was injured now; otherwise, their chances of winning would be much higher.

Chloe thought with some regret as she watched Clark, who was under her control.

The next second, Clark, whom she thought was under her control, suddenly stood up from the ground.

Clark instantly broke free from the magical ropes and flew in front of Chloe.

After gaining the ability to fly, Clark's advance speed increased by more than just a little.

He advanced to Chloe's front and grabbed her collar.

With a thud, Chloe's body was heavily thrown out.

Seeing her companion thrown out, Lana immediately chanted a spell, aiming the magical spellbook at Clark and uttering a spell.

A powerful purple beam adhered to Clark's body.

Then Lana suddenly raised her hand.

An invisible force pulled Clark upwards.

After using the spellbook, Lana's magic power increased by more than just a little.

Powerful magical energy controlled Clark's body, continuously pushing him upwards.

But the next second, Clark tensed his body, breaking free from the magic's control.

The Heat Vision in his eyes struck the spellbook in Lana's hand.

"Crash!"

The spellbook, struck by Clark's Heat Vision, immediately caught fire and began to burn.

Lana, burned by the flames, let out a scream and had to throw the burning spellbook to the ground.

But Clark would not give her a chance; he moved from the air to Lana's front and punched Lana's chest.

He directly knocked her out.

Despite using magic to protect her vital upper and lower parts, the punch still left her unable to breathe from the pain.

Lana vomited blood and fell to the ground.

Clark stood in front of Lana, his eyes flashing crimson, watching Lana, his former goddess, lying on the ground.

"This is just a body to me; kill me!"

Feeling the terrifying energy contained in Clark's eyes, Lana's lips curled into a mocking smile as she spoke to Clark.

"Clark!"

Chloe, not far away, shouted at Clark, "Don't do that!"

The red in Clark's eyes had not faded; he turned his head to look at Chloe.

At this moment, Chloe, lying on the ground, seemed to have had the witch's soul within her disperse; having regained consciousness, she lay on the ground, reaching out to Clark with difficulty, "Don't do that, you are Clark; if you cross that line, you can never go back to being the Clark you were before, please, don't do that."

Hearing Chloe say this, Clark's actions paused for a moment.

"The one in front of you is Lana, the one you desperately protected before; you won't hurt her, because you are Clark Kent!"

Chloe, covered in blood from her injuries, reached out to Clark, her face full of pain.

"Clark Kent is dead!"

Clark shook his head expressionlessly and shot Heat Vision at her without hesitation.

Bang!

Louise, who had not shown up until now, landed on the ground and quickly chanted a spell to create a portal.

She used a spell to turn the ground beneath Clark's feet into unstable quicksand, while simultaneously throwing a tractor at Clark.

The portal instantly sent Lana away, and then Louise and Chloe quickly used teleportation magic to leave.

Boom!

The tractor was instantly blasted away by Clark.

Clark, breaking free from the magic's control, jumped with a bang to the spot where the three had escaped using the portal.

The crimson light in his eyes showed no sign of fading, but instead grew fiercer.

Bending down, he picked up the spellbook, now just tattered burnt pages on the ground, and a complex light of hatred flickered in Clark's eyes.

"Magic? Our war—has just begun!"

On the other side, Lana, who had escaped using the portal, had just emerged from the fireplace flames when she spat out a mouthful of blood.

Chloe immediately supported her.

"You?!"

Louise looked at Chloe with surprise and uncertainty, "Are you Madeline, or Chloe Sullivan?"

(Madeline: The witch possessing Chloe's body)

She had heard what Chloe said to Clark just now and thought that Chloe had regained control of her body from Madeline, so she was a bit confused.

"Of course, I'm Madeline; if I hadn't said that just now, that farm boy probably would have directly attacked Lana; sometimes, you have to be strategic."

Chloe shrugged at the two and said:

"Sometimes family affection is the most touching weapon; Clark lost control because of his brother. So I wanted to use the convenience of our possessed bodies to launch some emotional attacks."

Louise coughed twice, covering her chest, and said, "I hope that's a conclusion you reached before you were burned at the stake, otherwise I wouldn't believe a dead soul could come up with any good ideas."

Lana, also known as Lady Russo, covered her chest, her face somewhat pale, and looked at Niel, who was continuously playing the piano.

"Stop playing your damn piano, now get out of here!"

Niel, due to Lana's magic, had been continuously playing the piano.

Her fingers were raw and bleeding, and the white piano keys had turned crimson.

After Lana lifted the magic on Niel, Niel immediately stood up with dull eyes and walked outside.

"The purpose of our rebirth is to pursue a greater path of magic."

Lana dragged her almost collapsing body and sat on a chair.

"The Witch Mother has given us stronger magic, so we won't suffer from magical backlash. We still have a more important mission, so we cannot fall at this time."

"Madeline, you go investigate and collect information related to magic in this century; the Witch Mother will punish these mages. Also, when you act, be sure to avoid Clark. He has now become a monster completely driven by hatred and anger."

Lana caught her breath a few times, then instructed the two.

At Kent Farm, Jonathan and Martha were waiting for Eric and Clark to return.

On the wall clock, the hour hand had already pointed to eight o'clock in the evening.

"I've already called the Peters and Chloe's families to confirm; Clark and Eric aren't there."

Jonathan sighed, "It's impossible for both brothers to disappear at the same time; something must have gone wrong."

"Perhaps,"

Martha said worriedly, "Perhaps they both encountered some trouble at the same time, trouble that couldn't be resolved for now. Do you remember Clark mentioning yesterday? He's been researching witch culture recently, maybe it's related to that kind of mysticism."

"And he was doing the research for Lana; we need to go to Lana's house."

Martha felt that since Eric and Clark hadn't been heard from for a long time, they could go to Lana's house to check.

"You rest at home; I'll go."

Jonathan stood up and put on his clothes while speaking to his wife.

After putting on his jacket, he drove towards Niel's Farm.

Worried that Eric and Clark might have gotten involved in a social incident again, he turned on the radio to listen to some current events news.

"A fire broke out at the Metropolis Selin Club, currently resulting in seven Deaths and six injuries. The cause of the fire is currently unknown, but it is said that the Selin Club is a gathering place for mystics and religious enthusiasts, and the cause of this fire is very likely due to members holding some kind of ritual, causing the flames to get out of control and resulting in the fire. This is not the first time this has happened, so we have sufficient reason to suspect—

Listening to the news on the radio, Jonathan sighed, "Mysticism and fire?"

He looked up at the gloomy sky, his gaze revealing a heavy expression.

A bad premonition arose in his heart, as if there was a sense of impending storm pressing down on him.

When he drove to Niel's Farm, looking at the raging flames and the Farm completely turned into ruins, Jonathan was stunned.

"How could this be?"

Thick smoke and flames, ground that looked as if it had been bombed, a thought suddenly flashed through Jonathan's mind that startled even himself.

Could this have been done by Eric or Clark?!
