Chapter 143 - Chapter 143: Call me an ambulance, Superman

"Eric, you?"

Jonathan walked over with a flashlight, ready to say something to Eric.

But when the flashlight's beam illuminated the cellar, he saw the zombified Solomon Grundy and was immediately stunned.

He truly had not expected such a development, that there was a hideous and terrifying monster hidden in his family's cellar.

Although the monster didn't shout and scream, maintaining a seemingly calm posture, this made it even more bizarre and difficult to comprehend.

"Eric, what is this?"

Recovering from his shock, Jonathan suppressed his rapidly beating heart and asked Eric.

Seeing someone enter, Grandy, who was hunched over in a humble posture in the cellar, looked towards Jonathan.

"I am Grandy!"

"Dad, you don't need to come down!"

Eric stretched out his hand towards his father, signaling for him not to come down.

Although he was somewhat worried about his son's safety, after seeing Eric's action, he had to stop his thought of coming down.

"Eric, be careful!"

Jonathan retreated backward while instructing.

"Why were you hiding in the cellar?"

After seeing his father leave, Eric asked the other party with an unfriendly tone.

"Grandy has nowhere to go," Grandy replied to Eric, showing a fawning expression.

"It feels very comfortable here, Grandy likes to stay here!"

Due to Grandy's limited intelligence and language expression ability, he stammered when speaking, repeating a sentence several times before expressing it clearly.

"I said, if you keep following me, I will kill you."

Eric's patience was almost exhausted with the other party clinging to him.

"Now, get out of here!"

Eric's eyes flickered with a crimson light, ready to attack Grandy at any moment.

Grandy, who had already experienced Eric's Heat Vision, had no choice but to show Eric a wronged expression before standing up from the barn and walking out step by step.

Jonathan, who was waiting outside, was just about to go back in to check when he saw Eric and the giant named "Grandy" walk out.

"Eric, you know him?"

Realizing that Eric might know the giant in front of him, Jonathan's worry in his heart lessened a bit.

At the same time, curiosity about his younger son arose in his heart.

How did Eric manage to make this guy obey him completely?

"Well, I know him, but not to a very familiar and friendly extent. Rather, I beat him up once, which is why this guy follows me."

Eric casually explained to his father.

"You beat this guy up?"

Jonathan's face showed a surprised expression, "Is he… is he a normal person? Such a huge build, and looking at his skin, he doesn't seem like an ordinary person."

"He's clearly not a normal person."

Shaking his head, Eric walked to Grandy, who was standing in front of the barn, and extended his fist towards him.

"Do you know this?"

"?"

Grandy's small eyes blinked, showing a puzzled expression.

"This means if you continue to stay here, you will taste my fist again!"

"I know, Kent, right? That's the name, right? The truth is you didn't tell me the exact address, which is why I got lost."

On a small town road, an old car sped along.

After turning onto a small path, the road conditions worsened, making the woman in the car feel even more annoyed.

Holding a phone in one hand, the woman skillfully unscrewed a water bottle and poured some spicy brandy into her mouth.

Yes, her water bottle contained not water, but spicy and invigorating brandy.

As for whether she would be arrested by the police for drunk driving, she didn't believe that in a place where she couldn't see a single person after driving for half a day, there would be traffic police to stop her car.

"Please, that genius just told me to turn left on Road 31, and now I'm completely lost. You can't put all the blame on me!"

Facing the reproach from her colleague on the other end of the phone, the woman said unhappily.

"What? Let me describe the surroundings to you. Well, it's all piled up cornstalks here, as far as the eye can see."

The woman glanced out the window and said unhappily: "You wouldn't believe a person driving a car in a cornfield and being very familiar with the surrounding road conditions."

After hanging up the phone, the woman shook her head helplessly, feeling that she had never had a worse experience than today.

She would rather be trapped in the desert playing a wilderness survival game, like last time, than drive aimlessly like an idiot in a cornfield.

While driving, she reached into her bag, wanting to pull out a cigarette to relieve her fatigue.

But the moment she touched the cigarette, she changed her mind.

"Hmm, never mind, Louise, if you choose to smoke, you'll hate yourself tonight."

The woman named "Louise" shook her head and put the cigarette back in her bag.

As she exhaled, she was wondering whether to get out of the car to check the road conditions when she suddenly heard a sound of something cutting through the air.

A whistling sound filled the air, making one want to cover their ears to block out the harsh noise.

Louise looked up, and a huge dark shadow enveloped her vision!

A big fellow fell from the sky, crashing towards the car she was driving.

"Oh my God!"

Startled, Louise immediately swerved the steering wheel sharply to the left, dodging this unexpected disaster from the sky.

After the car's chassis hit a protruding mound of earth by the roadside, there was a "bang" sound, and then it rushed down a steep slope.

Louise's back was impacted, letting out a muffled groan, and she rushed down with the car.

"Pat-a-pat-a" tree branches slapped against the car windows, instantly causing spiderweb-like cracks in the car glass.

Thump! Thump!

Continuous impacts made the car emit an unbearable "groan."

All Louise, sitting in the driver's seat, could do was firmly press the brake and grip the steering wheel to prevent the car from completely losing control.

Fortunately, the slope was not high, and due to the rain, the car finally stopped after hitting a pile of stacked cornstalks.

Louise, still shaken in the car, waited until the car completely stalled, then caressed her chest with her hand.

"Am I… saved?"

She exhaled a long breath and murmured.

"Oh my God! I swear, I will never drink again."

After closing her eyes and praying for a second, Louise checked her body, confirmed that she had no injuries, then pushed open the car door and got out.

Unexpectedly, the moment she got out of the car, she felt a piercing pain in her right foot!

She immediately lost her balance and fell sideways.

Luckily, she supported herself with the old car next to her, which prevented her from falling down.

Louise leaned on the car and bent down to check her right foot.

Her ankle was red and swollen, clearly sprained when she slammed on the brake earlier.

"Great, a bad day just got worse."

Louise complained, then shook her head.

She wanted to get into the car to get her phone to call for help, but found that her phone had been broken in the car accident.

The battery had been thrown to who knows where.

"Calm down, relax, Louise, you've encountered much more complicated difficulties before."

Taking a deep breath, Louise forced herself to calm down, "Think about this time last year, not only was your phone ruined, but you also lost your survival food."

After giving herself a pep talk, Louise limped uphill.

Using all her strength, getting covered in mud, she finally climbed to the roadside at the top of the slope.

Just as she was about to rest, she heard an unusual sound from the sky.

Like air being disturbed, the whistling sound was like the roar of a fighter jet!

In her astonished sight, a figure appeared in the air.

After a piercing dash through the air, there was a sudden stop.

The figure floated in the air, slowly gazing at the enormous object lying on the ground.

In the dark night, with the cold night wind blowing, the oppressive figure slowly descended from the sky.

Looking at the crimson light emanating from his eyes, Louise thought she saw some kind of angel descending from the sky.

No.

An angel shouldn't have this kind of oppressive and dangerous aura; this should be a devil descending from the sky!

At this moment, Louise's mind had forgotten to complain about this unscientific development, but instead came to a conclusion that surprised even herself.

After throwing Grandy out of the farm, Eric flew to where he had fallen, slowly descending from the sky.

Looking at the unconscious Grandy, he shook his head.

Never mind, I'll put him in the Justice Society Headquarters!

Otherwise, if this guy runs around, he'll cause me a lot of trouble.

Thump!

After his feet landed on the ground, the red light in Eric's eyes dissipated.

After glancing at Grandy, he walked in front of the woman nearby, watching her coldly.

"Who are you?"

"I…"

Startled by Eric's question, Louise swallowed, looking up at Eric.

"Louise, Louise Lane."

Louise stated her name.

Eric had already seen her injured ankle and was originally preparing to leave.

But upon hearing her call herself Louise, he paused, his expression changing.

Louise Lane?

Clark's true love?!

Clark's fated girlfriend, and future wife?

"Mm."

Eric turned around, "You're injured?"

"Evidently, yes. When this big guy fell from the sky, he almost smashed my car into scrap metal. To avoid this unexpected disaster, I had to drive my car down, and in doing so, I injured my ankle."

Louise, who had regained her normal composure, smiled at Eric, "So, can you call me an ambulance now, Superman?"

"An ambulance? You don't need that."

Eric walked over and picked up Louise, "This isn't an injury worth calling an ambulance for."
