As Lucian read through the system's message, his eyes widened and his brows shot up in shock. Just the mere mention of the word—Authority—had left his mind in shambles.
"AUTHORITY!?" He yelled at the top of his lungs, rolling back onto the floor. In an instant, he stood upright, staring at the system window as if he had seen some ghost.
And frankly, he had every right to react as such since authorities weren't something one could obtain that easily. Let alone easily, it was practically impossible for a normal human to ever get their hands on one.
Why?
Because authorities were the very lines that distinguished mortals from existences that brought balance to the world—the Gods.
In simpler terms, authorities were unique privileges rewarded to those who surpassed their mortal limits and were reborn as existences far beyond their reach.
And right now, Lucian had been rewarded with that same unique authority. And that too, when he's just level 1.
Lucian stood completely still, still not able to overcome his shock. His irises were dilated, almost as if his mind wasn't present in his body. But then, all of a sudden, another one of the system's alerts sounded in his mind, jolting him awake.

The corners of the screen lit up in a soft silver-white glow, as small intricate lines formed similar patterns. The screen itself was painted in soft yet striking cerulean.
