Alexander's office was unusually quiet for a weekday afternoon.
He was reviewing a file when Lucas barged in without knocking, phone pressed to his ear, irritation written all over his face.
"Yes, mom. No, I am not busy. Yes, I am at work. No, I am not going to that dinner—"
He stopped mid-step, rolled his eyes and cut the call.
Alexander didn't even look up. "Blind date?"
Lucas dropped into the chair opposite him with a groan. "The fifth one this month. Apparently this one is very special because the girl's mother is friends with her yoga instructor."
"That does sound life-changing," Alexander said dryly.
Lucas leaned his head back. "She is going to show up here, I swear she will. One day I will walk out of my office and she will be standing at the reception desk asking my assistant for my blood type."
Alexander finally looked up, amused. "You could just go."
