Jeremy was taken aback by Everly's words.
Was she actually blaming him?
Or worse, suspecting him of being the culprit?
Even Alan was startled by Everly's accusation. Although he was in the dark about the secrets they were referring to, he never expected Everly to point the finger at Jeremy.
As the elevator doors slid open, Everly marched out without a second thought for the two men's reactions. Jeremy and Alan scrambled to catch up. Jeremy's hand instinctively reached out to grab Everly's arm, but then he remembered the burns she'd suffered on her arm while saving Aria the night before. So, he quickly redirected his hand to her shoulder instead.
"Hold on! Do you think I'm involved?"
Everly turned around to meet Jeremy's gaze, her expression dead serious.
"Listen, Jeremy... don't you realize that what you're doing could set off a chain reaction of epic proportions?"
".....huh?"
