BANG!
The sound of a sniper shot resounded, claiming the first life, as Miguel pulled the trigger of his sniper rifle, already aiming at another person.
*BANG! BANG!*
Two shots immediately resounded after, as in the warehouse, two more bodies, each holding a silver briefcase which they had pulled out from the trunk of the old courier's rickety ride.
"Take cover!" A person roared inside the warehouse.
BANG!
Another shot rang out, as the third guard, was thrown to the ground. Unlike the others, he however, did not die, as he was lucky enough to have reacted on time, raising the briefcase he was supposed to protect, over his head as cover, the moment the first shot rang out.
His body though, suffered the impact, as even though the briefcase was able to repel the bullet without as much as an actually troublesome dent... something which was odd, his body had to take the brunt of the impact alone.
Thus, he laid on the floor, arms mangled and bleeding profusely.
"Miguel, why the fuck did you pull the shot without my signal?!" Jasper roared over the comm.
"He was going to blow our cover!" Miguel gave his logical reply. Though from the tone of his voice, it was more like feeling aggrieved for being called out like a child.
"I covered his ass. Get moving already." Marianne quipped from her own end, reminding them that they didn't have the time to be calling out wrongs.
Jasper gritted his teeth, as he stepped on the pedal, immediately accelerating towards the gate of the warehouse, and blowing through it.
"Bring the goods!" The receiver bellowed as he took cover, protecting himself, from the line of sniper fire.
Immediately, some guards darted to pickup the packages, however, rounds of sniper shots, had most of them falling dead before they could reach it.
The only problem was, while there were lots of guards, there were only two snipers.
"Guys, while I'm sure you can see it too, it appears, it's not just a package, but packages. We have decoys." Nicks voice rang through the inter comm, as he watched a haze of red silhouettes, successfully moving what appeared to be green rectangular boxes.
Just then, Jasper's car bulldozed into the warehouse's gate, and immediately tore it off its lock, causing it to roll up like a flap into the air.
*Broommmm!*
A motorcycle followed from behind, old Hanzo in his hat, coming through with only one hand on the cycle's control head, and the other on his trusty submachine gun.
Jasper's car rammed into the old courier's rickety ride, just as the old man was about to get in and flee the scene, now he had a moment of breather, without sniper shells flying over his head.
The impact sent the man flying, and although Jasper wanted nothing more than to kill that old corpse, the mission held far more prevalence at the moment.
His ride pulled to a stop, and the roof came open, he pulled open a bag, and pulled out a heavy machine gun, quickly strapping its belts to himself.
He pulled his torso out from the open roof, and immediately joined Hanzo who was using his bullet proof car, as cover, in the gun fight.
"Pull those damned gates opened already!" The recipient yelled at the guards who to him, were being clumsy right now.
The twin gates were immediately rolled aside, as the first of their vehicle immediately drove out, carrying in it, one of the briefcase.
The recipient followed in another vehicle at the centre, carrying with him another one of the three briefcases, and a last vehicle came from behind, with another, while the others, were left to hold the line.
He first vehicle had hardly moved a good measure, before it went up in flames, the vehicle summersaulting into the air.
"This explosive shells cost me a pretty penny." Marianne clicked her tongue in irritation, as she focused her sniper rifle on another vehicle.
"Damnit!" The recipient roared, eyes bloodshot.
He couldn't help but wonder who could be targeting him, and how they even came to know about the package.
Contrary to what others might be expecting, even he, had not a single clue, what was inside the package, and which was even the real one.
But judging from how his contractor had covered every detail, to maintain top secrecy on this, even clearing out all his competitors from the outer sector in a single night, so that no one would go tailing him, it was absurd that somehow, it still got leaked.
If he failed this...
His body shuddered as he clutched the briefcase in his hands tighter, not even daring to finish his thoughts. He must succeed, he had to succeed.
Steeling his mind, he inched closer to the car door, mentally preparing himself for what he was about to do.
His vehicle suddenly swiveled to the side, the driver making a last minute maneuver by pure instinct, saving them the fate of soaring haphazardly into the air, and crashing like the first vehicle.
The recipient clenched his jaw tight. At this point, he knew it was finished for him, while there was still a doubt on whether he could survive this or not, the odds of completing the retrieval on his own was so low, it could be considered zero.
Quickly navigating the system planted into his head he quickly made a call.
"What's the update." A calm voice that sent shivers down his spine, resounded inside his ears, traveling directly to his brain.
He gulped. "Code Red."
There was a second of silence, that to him, felt like an eternity, before the voice came through again.
"Okay."
As simple as that, and the call ended.
A sinking feeling immediately pressed down his guts from the hell he didn't even want to imagine, he knew he would be subjected to should he survive this, at the same time, relief that whichever hateful bastards had targeted the operation, would get nothing in return, since he already sent the alert.
Now that all that was out of the way, it was time to gamble his life. Oddly enough, considering the amount of torture waiting for him should he survive, he couldn't decide on whether to live or die.
'That would be left for fate to decide,' he concluded.
Pushing the button by the windscreen, the car door came unlocked, and he kicked it open without hesitation while it was on high movement, startling the driver.
Not caring for the consequences, he clutched the briefcase tighter... then jumped outside.
