"You know, we thought you were dead… after leaving the village." Elvira stated as she approached a chair and sat down comfortably, as if she owned the place. "After all, how could you survive without our shelter? But it seems we were wrong."
Coral noticed how she used the word 'shelter' and not 'home'. Indeed, that house had never been a home for her, only a shelter. She smiled bitterly.
"Sorry to disappoint you." She said.
"Not bad… it's good that you survived... whether it was alone or with a backup." She said suggestively, but smiled when Coral narrowed her eyes at her. "Don't get me wrong. This world is very cruel, and it's impossible to survive alone without having anything." She explained.
"How I've survived is none of your business, Elvira." Coral replied.
"Oh, but it is. After all, you are our family member." She said with fake concern.
Coral felt irritated at her sweet tone. "I need to eat my lunch. If you don't have anything useful to say, then I should go."
