"Thanks for saving me," Kai said nervously. I nod, sighing.
"In a day's work…"
He looks down like he is about to tell me something right now. It better be juicy enough for it to be worth probably ending up in hell for.
"So you see, my name isn't actually Kai…"
"Go on."
"My name is actually Gabriel."
That's… it? Kind of disappointing but he seems a bit too naive to have any dirty secrets; he probably only has embarrassing ones.
"And there's more."
I nod.
"I'm not actually what I say I am. I'm actually a parasite. We call ourselves Govagods. We are small worms who go into the brain through the ear and take over the person. They'll physically change based on what we're the Govagod of. Like I'm the Govagod of cats, so my human host turned into a kind of human cat. But I can turn into a cat!"
I stare in shock. "So because I saved your life back there, you should tell me more so I can get some points."
"Too late, I already turned it all in for starter points. It's totally useless now unless you can scoop up some points.' I sigh; it is useless now…
"Oh, wait, this is why instead of it saying Kai on the leaderboard, it said Gabriel!" I say. Wonder why I didn't notice that before.
"Anyways, where are we?"
"We're in level 52, a safe place. Partypoopers used to be here until they went extinct." Kai said proudly, looking around; it looked like some basic old schoolhouse. I walk around with Kai, who surprisingly has found a skateboard to use and then a camera hits me in the face—no, not hits, just is very close to my face.
There are news reporters everywhere. They are asking me about what happened back there with the shady gray and if Dove was okay. I sigh and pull out a wrapping. I give it to a news reporter and once he opens it he jumps and drops it on the floor. "That was the remains of Dove. He's… gone." I say my voice low. How could I be this sad for somebody I barely knew?

He smashed a bag full of cash in front of Mr. Wonder. "Hm? Why do you want to join this late, eh?" He asked. The man was squinting his eyes because of how bright Mr. Wonder's dress was.
"Because I finally made my deciding point to do it."
"A MONTH LATE?"
"A month late."
Mr. Wonder sighed. "Fine." The man bowed down, taking off his black hat, and green hair flowed from it. "Thank you, Joegin." He said. The sun from above sparkled up his hair blinding Mr. Wonder. "HOW DO YOU KNOW MY NAME?" he said, squinting. But the man ignored him and continued bowing.
Mr. Wonder sighed and gave him his pin of recognition and he set off into the backrooms.

I pet my horse, trying to fall asleep in these makeshift classrooms in which they moved the desk to add sleeping bags for us to rest. There are about 129 other racers whom I've counted. Actually, I've lost count of how many racers are left; it started in the thousands or millions and it'll probably be in the tens once the race ends.
But my mind keeps drifting to what Dove said, his last words. "This is it. It's my last moment. Please take care of Kai and win for me. I failed my owner but he will probably bet on you so please win for him!" That dumbass. His creator in question thinks he is a disappointment, not to mention an old traditional Nazi and racist!
Why would he still try to support such a terrible guy? All these thoughts are keeping me awake… I slowly get up, drowsy but refusing to go to sleep. I grab his martingale and walk around but through the cracked walls I see a purple glow. Walking closer I touch it and I feel my body get sucked in and as I scream, nothing comes out; it seems nobody can hear me.
I look around. I'm in paradise.
