A few minutes later, Zion sat down in the empty training room after having moved Koru to one of the personal rooms.
'He can learn there just fine,' he thought, closing his eyes for a moment.
Zion exhaled deeply, deciding on the next weapon he wanted to see.
"Let's start with the gravity wings," he said, opening his eyes again. "When I summon it, please measure the energy consumption."
He paused for a second. "And warn me instantly if something affects the ship."
[Affirmative,] Uriel replied instantly.
Zion nodded once, standing up in the center of the training room.
Without any further words, he guided energy toward his back and thought about the gravity wings.
For a second, nothing happened.
Then, a painful pressure came from between his shoulder blades.
Zion clenched his jaw for a moment, a dull ache replacing the pressure as he felt the nanobots detach from his body.
A thick lump of metal separated from his back, floating in the air behind him.
