Chapter 64 - The slaughter.

Finally, after a few hours of boredom, Arthur saw a person entering the cave. It was a female figure covered by a large winter cloak. The figure stood silently by the crude door, surprise coursing through their veins.

Who wouldn't be surprised? After all, this figure had been protecting the body of the Paragon for several months. And now he had just awakened from his slumber?

The figure slowly raised their hands, seemingly afraid of even moving too fast.

Then the figure dropped the cloak hiding their face.

Arthur was met by a beautiful face, but that was not the thing that caught his eye. No, it was the horns around her head, almost seeming like a crown for a queen.

But the most surprising thing? Arthur knew this figure well, not in the waking world, not in the dream realm. No, he knew her from his second nightmare.

He slowly opened his mouth, confusion dripping like water from his words.

"Caera?"

Arthur was met by widened eyes from the now-named Caera.

"You know me?" Was her reply to Arthur's question.

Arthur, realizing he had slipped up, thought of a cover-up.

"You are quite well known" was his slow and careful reply.

Soon enough, Caera caught up Arthur on everything that had been happening the whole time he was gone.

Then she slowly approached the subject, fearing how the Paragon, the strongest master in two worlds would react.

The subject was, of course, Falcon Scott, or rather, what remained of it.

"What do you mean it's gone?!"

Arthur shouted, his presence filling the entirety of the cave.

Caera's legs shook; soon enough, her legs gave out, her form falling to the ground in a heap.

Her eyes widened in horror, the presence of Arthur far greater than anything she had felt her entire life.

Arthur glared at the woman, his eyes glowing with aether.

Finally, Caera managed to gasp out a few words.

"A-a Titan wiped i-it out!"

Arthur glared harsher, the answer obvious.

"When?!" He snarled out through clenched teeth.

"Half a day ago!"

Caera stuttered out, her breathing ragged, form drenched in sweat.

Then Arthur vanished, Caera falling to the ground, unconscious.

The next moment, Arthur was in Falcon Scott.

He looked around; everything had been turned into ice, and people had turned into sculptures.

Arthur's gaze shot around, and then he saw a child.

And he snapped, Aether and Destruction blazed as one, the blizzard vanishing, everything melting.

Sadly, the people were already long dead.

Their bodies, now flesh once again, fell to the ground.

All dead.

Then Arthur expanded his sense of hatred, locating the giant creature easily.

The same second he was standing in front of it, a dozen aether spears covered with destruction, tore through the titan's colossal body.

Several devastating explosions rang out, each capable of deafening most humans.

Yet Arthur was not most humans, he wasn't even human anymore.

And so he did not stop, dozens of spears forming from thin air, impacting the Titan.

Until finally, the titan located Arthur, immediately giant ice towers formed from thin air, flying towards Arthur.

Arthur didn't even blink; he merely waved a hand, destruction eating through the ice.

Finally, the winds and snow slightly eased, Arthur now able to see the creature in its full unholiness.

The physical body was gone, erased from existence.

Yet Arthur felt the Titan all around him, in the wind, in the snow, in the ice.

Arthur looked around, his previously hatred-filled eyes were now cold as the ice surrounding him, lifeless and emotionless.

Ideas span through Arthur's mind, how to kill the creature, how to damage it.

Yet the only answer was destruction with Aether.

This presented a bigger problem. That being said that of course, he had a limited supply of both.

And the longer he fought, the fewer chances of survival.

Another blizzard swept around Arthur, the snowflakes sharp as any blade, the winds powerful to cut through bodies.

Arthur was enveloped by destruction, his now perfected armor surrounding him in all his glory.

The snow and winds evaporated from existence, and the snow and winds eased.

And Arthur focused, trying to pinpoint the titan's location.

Yet as hard as he tried, no matter what way or range, he couldn't find it.

Arthur let out a roar of rage, his emotionless facade forgotten.

Arthur drained one of his destruction cores, the flames blazing into existence.

Next, Regis appeared, already in his weapon form.

Arthur grasped the hilt, destruction swirling around him, then aether gathered.

The flames and aether mixed.

And then, a giant wave of brilliant light left Arthur's form, in every direction.

The flames ate through ice and wind with ease, the skies clearing, the presence of the Titan lessening.

Yet it hadn't died, in fact, it seemed to be retreating.

Arthur raised Regis, the blade flowing with brilliant violet light.

Then Arthur swung the blade, a crescent shaped blade of pure destruction left from the blade, devouring everything in its path.

The sky reflected the purple hue of the attack.

Wherever it passed through, only melted rock remained, glowing a fearsome red. A truly Transcendent attack.

Soon enough, it caught up to the focused blizzard, cleaving through like a hot knife through butter.

And then, the winds vanished, the snow stopped falling, the skies cleared.

And Arthur, with Regis still aimed towards his right, his Djinn and Destruction armor blazing around him.

And his eyes glowing a brilliant gold, outlined by destruction.

Stood calmly, his rage eased, yet the anguish didn't leave him. Instead, it grew; and soon, he clenched his fists, and the destruction enveloping him vanished.

Regis left too, clearly feeling the situation was not appropriate for his jokes.

Then Arthur collapsed onto his knees and hands, striking the ground again and again, agonizing screams leaving his form.

Anguish and hate brimmed in his heart as one.

He struck the ground again, and each time the now small crater expanded and expanded, until finally Arthur punched with all his might, the ground shattering all around him.

Arthur lay in the crater, eyes red and lifeless, he had turned numb.

His eyes stared into the endless sky, yet he couldn't find the beauty he once saw. He only saw the gray clouds, simple and meaningless.

Arthur raised a hand towards his face, staring at his palm.

What was the point of all this power? There was no point if he couldn't use it. He had transcended, yet he was late.

He should have been faster, he should have killed the beasts in that world quicker, he should have learnt Aether faster. And yet he hadn't, he too had a limit after all.

Arthur didn't know how long he lay there, he only realized the passage of time once he heard footsteps.

He lifted his head a little, his view filled with the same person he saw after waking up, Caera.

[A/N: Hope I did great yall, haven't wrote anything since the last update, life is cruel(xd).

As always, ask questions, I will answer them go the best of my ability.

Also holy I need to figure out the fucking timeline, shi is getting on my nerves.

Don't be surprised if some stuff doesn't match the original story, since yk, I don't know every detail, and the character hss definitely impacted the world.
