Rumors spread in the outer settlement, of a nightmare creature in human skin, akin to the one in the dark city. It was ruthless, inhumanly strong, and worst of all, it was smart.
People quickly labeled it as at least a fallen demon.
And every week, people found monster corpses all around the dark city. At first,, it was only a few per day, then it grew to dozens.
The monsters themselves were half melted, half torn to bits.
Arthur sat in a bar, drinking some type of alcoholic beverage. It was expensive here, but he didn't lack money these days. Arthur now looked a tad bit different, his golden hair was a bit paler, small eye bags forming, a few bruises and scuffs, nothing serious.
He sat in front of another person, who was drinking the same drink, already swaying due to the alcohol.
It was Gemma, also known as the leader of the hunters and pathfinders. Gemma was a tall young man with a laidback attitude. He was quite friendly, although most didn't approach him due to his status as lieutenant.
Arthur and Gemma became quite good acquaintances after Arthur rose through the ranks, now being his right hand, Arthur was mostly by Gemma's side unless he was out hunting, sometimes Gemma even took him to the lieutenant meetings due to his hatred sense that he had revealed.
Gemma was now laughing as Arthur told Gemma the stories that were made about him.
"They are calling me the invisible demon," Arthur laughed, "just because they haven't seen me!" Arthur slammed his cup onto the table, and Gemma did too as they laughed and wheezed, the situation was made much more funnier thanks to the alcohol.
A few minutes later, Aiko appeared and took Gemma to his own quarters.
As Arthur sat alone in the whole bar, he looked around, seeing no one, his smile vanished, his eyelids rose, and just like that, he was sober.
Now with a frown on his face, Arthur finished off the alcohol and left the bar. The girl saved Gemma from a blade once again.
[A/N: cuz I'm stupid and didn't mention how much time has passed, it was 2 months.]
