Chapter 45 - [45] Three bullies and construction equipment

"But I also need that money…"

For a second everyone grew quiet, trying to wrap their heads around what Drill Head here had just said.

Himiko's eyebrows creased as she gave him a deadpan look. "Huh? Is he dumb?"

Drill Head immediately turned around, locking his gaze on her. His eyes were bloodshot, signs of excessive drinking or drug use, and he clenched his jaw in rage, arms twitching by his sides.

'So that is what he needs the money for…'

Addicts would go through any means to get their hands on drugs or alcohol, and from the way he was looking, Mr. Drill was about to show just how desperate he was.

Kyle was watching the scene with a blank expression.

After glaring at Himiko, the man turned his attention back to the woman standing between him and a good puff.

"Get out of the way!"

The woman did not budge. She closed her eyes, standing her ground and hoping for the best. "N—n-o! I earned this m-myself!"

Kyle could tell just how terrified she was, her knees were quaking, and her heart was pounding so loudly that Kyle barely had to use his enhanced senses to hear it.

"I SAID GET OUT OF MY WAY!!" the man screamed in rage, his arms flailing by his sides like an offended child.

Whirl!

The drill on his head suddenly began to spin, creating a whirling sound as the sharp tip glowed under the light.

He did not even hesitate…

The moment he started his drill, he dove right at the woman, aiming to cut a hole right through her chest.

The woman screamed and tried to jump to the side, but the drill was faster.

And yet, it never met her tender flesh. Instead, it hung just mere inches from her, spinning ferociously but doing zero damage.

"Huh?" The villain's eyes narrowed as he turned to glance behind him.

Kyle was at his side, firmly holding onto his shoulder while Himiko was at his left, staring at him like he was less than trash.

She glanced at Kyle, a hint of worry flashing over her features. They were in the presence of a villain, and to her, Kyle was just a 'humble' café owner who was just like any other civilian.

"Know how to fight?"

Kyle shrugged and balled his hands into fists. "I'm not very good at it…"

Boom!

His fist dug into the villain's side, folding him like paper. He staggered to the side, clutching his ribs as spittle flew out of his mouth.

'Hmm? I barely applied any strength.'

If he had used muscle augmentation coupled with super strength, then Drill Head wouldn't be standing—he would be wrapped up in pretty white linen right about now.

"Argh, I'll kill you, I'll rip you all to pieces!" Drill Head screamed as he wiped his mouth, his head spinning even faster than last time.

Then he got on all fours and charged, pushing his head forward like a rhino.

Kyle stood between him and the street performer, his hand stretched out to shield her as the villain approached.

"Hahaha, do you think you can block my devil dril—"

Bang!

Himiko cut in from the right, distorting his momentum with a well-placed knee to the jaw, cracking his head upward.

Losing his balance, Drill Head fell face-first into the concrete. Immediately, the drill touched the floor—it dug deeper and deeper until they heard a metallic clang.

The drill was stuck…

And so his body began moving instead, rotating faster and faster while the villain screamed, his arms and legs flailing in the air.

It took about thirty awkward seconds for him to free his head out of the concrete, after which he staggered, the world spinning in his vision.

"I-I'll get y-you—!"

Whoosh!

In Drill Head's eyes, the world was inverted, his bloodshot eyes meeting a pair of crimson and gold that stared down at him.

Kyle and Himiko had both swept him off his feet, each one taking out a leg.

Drill Head fell hard, his mind reeling from both the impact and delirium.

Himiko placed her hands on her waist and smiled. "You said you didn't know how to fight."

"Me? I said I'm not very good at it," Kyle said with a smirk.

"You seem very talented though, that punch was scary."

"Really? I thought I was pretty weak actually. Maybe I should have pushed my body into it?"

The villain watched as the two conversed, making jokes and laughing as they stood right above his body.

"What the hell is wrong with yo—argh!"

Himiko stomped down on his knee, her gaze turning cold as she stared down at him.

"Can't you see I'm talking to Kyle? Do you want to die?"

The villain gulped, sweat dripping down the side of his face. But his fear didn't last long—his obsessive compulsion with money took over, and he roared, jumping up to his feet and distancing himself from them.

His eyes darted between Himiko and Kyle, gnashing his teeth, part of his body covered in dirt.

"Don't you dare underestimate me! I am Drilaron!!"

Drilaron sprinted forward, his eyes locked on Kyle. It was the same old tactic, charge and drill.

Kyle stepped to the side, allowing his momentum to carry him a bit before he grabbed the back of his shirt.

And then he pulled him back, just to send him forward once more with a punch to the ribs.

"Ough!" Drilaron grabbed his abdomen, letting out alow grunt.

"Maybe you can give me a few fighting tips?" Kyle asked Himiko, as though he had not just punched a man in the ribs.

The man in question was stumbling towards Toga, already lfiting his fists for a desperate attack.

"You won't defeat me!"

He swung wildly, his fist charging right at her face, but himiko did a split, droping down to the floor in an instant.

And then catapulting up a momet later—

Bang!

His head rocked backward as she unleashed a devestating uppercut, dazing him and sending stumbling towards Kyle.

"Tip?" She breathed out, taking a short breath. "Always go for the vitals!"

Kyle raised a brow just before chucking darkly. "Vitals? You are a wicked girl aren't you?"

Thwack!

As the villain approached Kyle, he chopped him in the neck, momentarily cutting his oxygen flow.

The man coughed, tears forming in his eyes as he grabbed onto his neck.

"You're a fast learner! You should always follow that up with a more destabilizing blow!"

Drill head's eyes widened. "No, wait—ugh!"

Himiko's foot dug into his belly, her feet coping a feel of his organs just before he was tossed back.

Dirlaron nearly coughed up his stomach…

And to make matters worse, for the third time, he was sent toward Kyle's direction—

Kyle was rubbing his chin as he approached, wobbling around like a half dead man.

"Destabilizing, huh…"

"…Something like—"

"AHHHHHH!!! Just kill me already, damn it!"

Drill head stopped in the space between them, his hands frantically ruffling the little patch of hair he had on his head.

"You bastards think you can mock me like I'm some—"

Crack!

His suddnly arms fell limp as he slumped, his body making a dull thump as it hit the floor.

Standing above him was the performer, a large rock in her hand and a smug smile on her face as she stared down at his unconscious body.

Silence…

Himiko winced while Kyle blinked. "Well… I guess that was destabilising enough…?"
