The cold night air brushed past his cheeks as he stepped outside, just sharp enough to make him pull his hood a little lower.

The street was lit on both sides by steady night lamps, casting long lines of light across the empty road.

A cat slipped between two trash cans right in front of him, but his mind was somewhere else and he didn't even notice it.

Hyun Woo kept his hands in his pockets, head slightly down.

His mind kept replaying the last few weeks — every judgment, every corner of the school he cleaned out.

He didn't regret any of it, but walking now, hearing nothing but his own footsteps, he finally saw the mistake.

"…I was too close," he muttered.

If anyone even half awake looked at the cases — a cop, a profiler, anyone who didn't sleep on the job — they'd draw lines on a map. Everything would point to the same place.

His school.

"Of course they'll think the Judge is a student," he whispered, nudging a loose pebble with his shoe. "Even idiots could figure that out."
